  • How to calibrate your mouse's X/Y in Windows Vista

    I've just installed a new Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 5000 and it's X/Y calibration/alignment seems to be off. If I move the mouse from left to right, the cursor will go up and down slightly. If I move the mouse from top to bottom, the cursor will also move from left to right slightly too. I seem to remember in earlier version of Windows or Intelli Point, there was a calibration tool which would fix this issue. Can anyone help? Many Thanks Stephen

  • Why can't I wrap text around grouped images in Word?

    When I paste two images into Microsoft Word and I set Wrap Text To Square: and then group them so they stick nicely together, I can no longer Wrap Text around this newly grouped image. Any explanation why text wrapping is disabled for grouped images? Note: if I don't change the Wrap Text option, I can't group them. This is for Word 2010 on Windows 7, but I've had this problem with every version of Word.

    Hello, I have a VM with a .vhd file however, when I connet to the VM (by RDP) and make some changes (create a directory and add a small file with notepad) the .VHD file stays unchanged. The 'Date modified' of the .VHD stays at the starttime of the VM. 1/How can we force an update of het VM while the VM is running? 2/Where aree the temporary changes kept? A tool that is functionally similar to the automatic acronym expansion done by Wikileaks in their Afgan War Diary (as seen at http://213.251.145.96/id/310B4FC4-2F89-4653-A546-1AD5D55BD9F7/) but ideally supports PDF or Microsoft Word documents. The list of acronyms and jargon and their expanded text could be provided in a separate file.

    64-bit Office installs 64-bit IFilters for its document types, but does not install 32-bit IFilters. Therefore, 32-bit programs that rely on IFilters cannot work with 64-bit Office. And although there is an option to download 32-bit IFilters from Microsoft, the installer will not run on a 64-bit machine, complaining about architecture mismatch. Is there any way to make 32-bit programs extract text from Office documents using IFilters when 64-bit Office is installed? Thanks.

  • Pressing tab to indent a list moves to the next table cell

    I have a list (e.g., a bulleted list) in Microsoft Word. This list is inside a table cell. When I press Tab to increase the indent, rather than increasing the indent, it moves the cursor to the next cell. When I try Ctrl+Tab, it just inserts a tab character without changing the indentation of the bullet (paragraph). How can I turn this off, so it does not go to the next cell but rather just indents the list?

Maybe I'm searching for it with the wrong terminology. Maybe it has to be done as a Named Range. I know this can be done. Anyone know how?

  • Word Opening Text Files by default as RTL, should be LTR

    I've noticed recently that Microsoft Word 2007 on Windows XP is opening by default straight text files as RTL instead of LTR. These are English written files, and contain no Unicode or characters other than ASCII. I work in three or four languages on the computer so have the language bar open, this problem happens when the language is selected to EN (United Kingdom). Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere, perhaps in Word itself?

The full justify option won't work because I don't want anything in the middle of the lines.     I have a large table of about 7500 store names. I need to search through those names and, if they are not unique, append an incrementing value, for example: store_1 store_2 etc. Anyone know how to do this? For another project, I was using this: =J1&IF(COUNTIF($J$1:J1,J1)1,COUNTIF($J$1:J1,J1),"") but in open office this gives an error, and in google spreadsheets, it times out because my database is so big. Any suggestions?

    I have just set up a VM for Windows Server 2008 R2 and want to install Microsoft CRM 2011 to play around with it. CRM 2011 seems to require Active Directory to be configured and running on the server. I've never gotten involved with Active Directory and I know that I need to install it and get it going for the CRM 2011 to continue. Does anyone have any quick pointers and/or resources for someone with no Active Directory experience, so that I can get CRM 2011 installed?

Every time I migrate all or part of a GMail mailbox, I have to wait about five minutes after it completes migration before the Finish button becomes available. What is going on during this time?     For an Microsoft Exchange server, is it possible to encrypt the email database such that the sysadmin cannot see the emails? In other words, the admin would be responsible for all aspects of running the Windows server and Exchange process, but would not be able to see the contents of any one email (except those sent to him, obviously). Only another individual (e.g. company owner) would be able to see all emails contained in the database.
