  • I keep on getting "save operation failure" after any change on my XCode Data Model

    I started using Core Data for iPhone development. I started out by creating a very simple entity (called Evaluation) with just one string property (called evaluationTopic). I had following code for inserting a fresh string: - (void)insertNewObject { // Create a new instance of the entity managed by the fetched results controller. NSManagedObjectContext *context = [fetchedResultsController managedObjectContext]; NSEntityDescription *entity = [[fetchedResultsController fetchRequest] entity]; NSManagedObject *newManagedObject = [NSEntityDescription insertNewObjectForEntityForName:[entity name] inManagedObjectContext:context]; // If appropriate, configure the new managed object. [newManagedObject setValue:@"My Repeating String" forKey:@"evaluationTopic"]; // Save the context. NSError *error; if (![context save:&error]) { // Handle the error... } [self.tableView reloadData]; } This worked perfectly fine and by pushing the +button a new "My Repeating String" would be added to the table view and be in persistent store. I then pressed "Design - Add Model Version" in XCode. I added three entities to the existing entity and also added new properties to the existing "Evaluation" entity. Then, I created new files off the entities by pressing "File - New File - Managed Object Classes" and created a new .h and .m file for my four entities, including the "Evaluation" entity with Evaluation.h and Evaluation.m. Now I changed the model version by setting "Design - Data Model - Set Current Version". After having done all this, I changed my insertMethod: - (void)insertNewObject { // Create a new instance of the entity managed by the fetched results controller. NSManagedObjectContext *context = [fetchedResultsController managedObjectContext]; NSEntityDescription *entity = [[fetchedResultsController fetchRequest] entity]; Evaluation *evaluation = (Evaluation *) [NSEntityDescription insertNewObjectForEntityForName:[entity name] inManagedObjectContext:context]; // If appropriate, configure the new managed object. [evaluation setValue:@"My even new string" forKey:@"evaluationSpeechTopic"]; // Save the context. NSError *error; if (![context save:&error]) { // Handle the error... } [self.tableView reloadData]; } This does not work though! Every time I want to add a row the simulator crashes and I get the following: "NSInternalInconsistencyException', reason: 'This NSPersistentStoreCoordinator has no persistent stores. It cannot perform a save operation.'" I had this error before I knew about creating new version after changing anything on the datamodel, but why is this still coming up? Do I need to do any mapping (even though I just added entities and properties that did not exist before?). In the Apple Dev tutorial it sounds very easy but I have been struggling with this for long time, never worked after changing model version.

    Hi All! Using Grails and the RichUI plugin to display a tree, and it works fine. When I click one of the Nodes in the tree I show a list(table) from a controller. I should be able to create new, edit and sort. My problem is that pagination doesn't work and also sorting!!! Are there anyone who has done this, or can it be done differently ? Best Regards Jamie

    I have a resource :products in a namespace :shop, like this: namespace :shop do resources :products root :to => 'products#index' end When running rake routes it outputs the following: edit_shop_product GET /shop/products/:id/edit(.:format) {:action=>"edit", :controller=>"shop/products"} But when I use the edit_shop_product_path in a partial view, like this: <%= button_to "Edit", edit_shop_product_path(product) %> I get an ActionController Exception: No route matches "/shop/products/1/edit" What am I missing?

  • iPhone UIViewController goes under status bar

    I have UIView and UIController view. My is standard 320x460 view. In applicationDidFinishLaunching I do [window addSubview:[controller view]]; What is weird, UIView goes under the status bar (like there's missing outlet). However, if I rotate iPhone to the side and then back, it shows up ok. Is this an expected behavior (I bet I can ix it by setting offset) or am I doing smth wrong?

    Hopefully I can explain this well enough, but please let me know if more information is needed! I'm building a form where a user can create an "incident". This incident has the following relationships: belongs_to: customer (customer has_many incidents) belongs_to: user (user has_many incidents) has_one: incident_status (incident_status belongs to incident) The form allows the user to assign the incident to a user (select form) and then select an incident status. The incident is nested in customer. Completed in 55ms (DB: 0) | 302 Found [http://localhost/customers/4/incidents] It looks to me like it's trying to gather information about the user, even though it already has the id (which is all it needs to create the incident), and the user may not have permission to do a select statement like that? I'm rather confused. So in summary, when I submit the incident creation form, it does not save the incident because it halts. I'm still very new to rails, so my skill at diagnosing problems like this is still very bad.   • Creating a second form page for a has_many relationship

    I have an Organization model that has_many users through affiliations. And, in the form of the organization ( the standard edit ) I use semanting_form_for and semantic_fields_for to display the organization fields and affiliations fields. But I wish to create a separete form just to handle the affiliations of a specific organization. I was trying to go to the Organization controller and create a an edit_team and update_team methods then on the routes create those pages, but it's getting a mess and not working. am I on the right track?

I am just trying to use mysql with rails with a mongrel server. But i some messages getting repeated. The first time page loads i am retrieving the data and call GetMessages() function. I am loading the value of field hdnLastMsgRec the first time page loads and after the value for this field are set by the javascript. I think the message keeps on repeating because of asynchronous calls. I don't know, may be you guys can help me solve this. or you can suggest better way to implement this.

    I am having trouble getting my modal view controllers to display properly. I have a parent view controller that is the delegate for modal view A. In modal view A I am presenting modal view B, and having the delegate dimiss modal view A. When modal view B appears it seems to display but the screen dims, and the UI locks up, but the app doesn't crash. I set animation settings to NO and I am still getting the same issue.

A small portion of my images are not being served from the asset host because they are displayed using the CSS background-image property rather than image_tag Is there are clean workaround for this? The new Person is added, but on the line with this.projectService.updateProject(project); I get an error. So I in my JQuery callback function, I have written like product.service.description to get the data. It seems that by default Jackson is not mapping the associated service object (or any other custom object). Also I am not getting any exception. In the JSP, I do not get the data. It is working fine when I return Collection of some object which does not contain any other custom objects as its fields. Am I missing any settings for this to work? Thanks!

I have the following dir's setup: httpdocs/app httpdocs/cake httpdocs/webroot I have done this countless times in 1.2.xx and according to the cakebook this hasn't changed but I keep getting missing controller Error: WebrootController could not be found.   • spring mvc 3.0 small web application not quite working

    Hi, i'm creating a very simple (hello World quality) web application using spring mvc 3.0. when deploying the application on tomcat 6.0.26 and i try to open http://localhost:8080/protoweb/helloWorld.html i get 404, resource /protoweb/WEB-INF/jsp/helloWorld.jsp is not available.
