  • How do I make the "back button" work with jQuery hide/show functions?

    I'm looking for a way to append text to the url with jQuery so that the back button is not broken when a user loads new content with jQuery. For example, I have a three step form - the first step is (www.xyz.com/form-1). When the user clicks next step, jQuery slides in the next page. I would like that page to be (www.xyz.com/form-2). I know websites like hypem.com do this, I'm just looking for an elegant way to handle it.

    i am hiding the form using SetVisibleCore to false, but now i cant get the handle of this form in other application which i am retrieving using EnumWindow its giving me exception "Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt." an ACCESS VIOLATION EXCEPTION. so i am searching on 2 ways 1. find out the other way to get handle here we cant use FindWindow cause its not returning any handle 2. find a another way to hide the form but this should be done before loading of the form so,,,plz help me if anybody can

I'm working on it alone so I don't really have someone to review my code for me and point out the wrong things in it so I'm posting it here in hopes that someone could point out the wrong things that I've done in here. I'm also looking for some guidelines in writing MVC code like what are the things that should be and shouldn't be included in views, models and controllers. How else can I improve the current code that I have right now. I've written some really terrible code before(duplication of logic, etc.) that's why I want to improve my code so that I can easily maintain it in the future. Thanks!

    I have implemented combobox in cakephp using following statement - echo $form->select('brand_id',array($brands),null,array(),'Choose Brand'); for brand and input form for category - echo $form->input('category_id',array('type'=>'select',$categories,'empty'=>'Choose Category')); but none of above option allows me to add my text input to brand or category, like say I want to add an input which is not there in the combobox, how should i go about it.   • jQuery Validation in ASP.NET

    A friend has pointed me to his old website and says "the submit form just stopped working a while ago. I'm sure it's something simple." The form asks a child for a certain word from a book, and based on the answer, it should redirect the child to a success page or a failure page. It's using Javascript 1.2, circa 2001.   • Filtering forms in MS Access

    I have a simple form showing products from my database. Each product has a foreign key to manufacturer_id . I would like to filter my form by manufacturer_id instead of default product_id. How I can do that ? I know I must create a macro. Also I've already created a query, that takes manufacturer's name as argument and returns manufacturer_id. So basically it should work in this way, that when I press 'Filter' button on my form, it runs macro that opens my query asking for manufacturer's name. And when the name is returned the whole form is filtered (so somewhere there should be comparison between manufacturer_id in product and that returned from query, but I can't manage to do that).   • Defining default value in combobox in CakePHP

Now the problem is when I assign like 'default'=1 it returns 'b' in the combobox as default value but when writing 'default' = $merchant_select the combobox shows only the first value which is 'a'. The $merchant_select variable is assigned a numeric value equal to merchant's id which 1,2 or 3 when I select any row in the grid. And I also have JavaScript code which alerts with the merchant value when I select any row in the grid so the numeric data is definitely assigned to the $merchant_select variable.

  • Concurrency Utilities for Java EE Early Draft (JSR 236)

    Concurrency Utilities for Java EE is being worked as JSR 236 and has released an Early Draft. It provides concurrency capabilities to Java EE application components without compromising container integrity. Simple (common) and advanced concurrency patterns are easily supported without sacrificing usability. Using Java SE concurrency utilities such as java.util.concurrent API, java.lang.Thread and java.util.Timer in a Java EE application component such as EJB or Servlet are problematic since the container and server have no knowledge of these resources. JSR 236 enables concurrency largely by extending the Concurrency Utilities API developed under JSR-166. This also allows a consistency between Java SE and Java EE concurrency programming model. There are four main programming interfaces available: ManagedExecutorService ManagedScheduledExecutorService ContextService ManagedThreadFactory ManagedExecutorService is a managed version of java.util.concurrent.ExecutorService. The implementations of this interface are provided by the container and accessible using JNDI reference: <resource-env-ref>  <resource-env-ref-name>    concurrent/BatchExecutor  </resource-env-ref-name>  <resource-env-ref-type>    javax.enterprise.concurrent.ManagedExecutorService  </resource-env-ref-type><resource-env-ref> and available as: @Resource(name="concurrent/BatchExecutor")ManagedExecutorService executor; Its recommended to bind the JNDI references in the java:comp/env/concurrent subcontext.   • CFfile -- value is not set to the queried data

    I have this add user form, it also doubles as a edit user form by querying the data and setting the value="#query.xvalue#". If the user exists (eg, you're editing a user, it loads in the users data from the database. When doing this on the <cffile field it does not load in the data, then when the insert goes to insert data it overrights the database values with a blank string (If a user does not input a new file). How do I avoid this?     Getting into Play 2.0, overall, blown away, great stuff. Anyway, wondering how one can achieve DRY forms in Play? If you look at the create & edit examples in the Computer Database Sample, you'll see that the form elements are repeated. With just 4 fields (in the sample form), no big deal, but when you're dealing with large, complex forms and/or handling many CRUD models, the duplication becomes a bigger maintenance issue. On the binding end ( form.bindFromRequest and form.fill(Foo) ), the implementation is so elegant for create/edit operations; is there a corresponding solution in the template layer?

    I'm using a ToolStripContainer that contains three ToolStrips. At design time I move the ToolStrips to the positions I want them in, which is in a horizontal row across the top of the form like this: I then close and save the Form. However, if I open the form up again the ToolStrips end up stacked up on the left side of the ToolStripContainer like this: How can I keep the ToolStrips in the positions that I specify?

    Hello all, I am doing some simple work with uploading a file. I am ignoring error checking and exceptions at this point just to get my uploads working. I have this HTML form: <form action='addResult.php' method='post' enctype='multipart/form-data' target='results_iFrame' onsubmit='startUpload();'> Entry: <input type='text' id='entry' /> Stop: <input type='text' id='stop' /> Final: <input type='text' id='final' /> Chart: <input type='file' id='chart' /> <input type='submit' value='Add' /></form> As you can see, it calls 'addResult.php' within the iFrame 'results_iFrame'. The Javascript is just for animation purposes and to tell me when things are finished. addResult.php has this code in it (along with processing the other inputs): $upload_dir = "../img/"; $chart_loc = $upload_dir.basename($_FILES['chart']['name']); move_uploaded_file($_FILES['chart']['tmp_name'], $chart_loc); print_r($_FILES); It uses the 'chart' input from the form and tries to upload it. I have the print_r() function to display some information on $_FILES, but the array is empty, thus making this fail. What could I be doing wrong?

    The JQuery UI Dialog model form widget has an issue with ASP.NET when a button on the dialog is clicked to submit the page. It doesn't work because the form elements in the dialog window are outside the html form tags. So I used the fix of doing $("#dialog").parent().appendTo($("form:first"));. It works in Firefox but not in IE because the modal window now appears to be part of the rest of the webpage which is disabled. Visually, this is evident by the stripes showing on both the modal window and the rest of the web page.
