  • Pattern filters in Laravel 4

    I want to make a pattern route, to redirect users to login page when they are not logged in. I searched but couldn't find a solution. as always Laravel's Documentation is useless! I have this in my filter.php Route::filter('auth', function() { if (Auth::guest()) return Redirect::guest('login'); }); Route::filter('auth.basic', function() { return Auth::basic(); }); And this route in my routes.php Route::when('/*', 'auth' ); but It's not working. How can I do that?

  • Backup AWS Dynamodb to S3

    It has been suggested on Amazon docs http://aws.amazon.com/dynamodb/ among other places, that you can backup your dynamodb tables using Elastic Map Reduce, I have a general understanding of how this could work but I couldn't find any guides or tutorials on this, So my question is how can I automate dynamodb backups (using EMR)? So far, I think I need to create a "streaming" job with a map function that reads the data from dynamodb and a reduce that writes it to S3 and I believe these could be written in Python (or java or a few other languages). Any comments, clarifications, code samples, corrections are appreciated.

There is a class called CollectionHelper that defines the following constant varibale: public final class CollectionHelper { public static final List EMPTY_LIST = Collections.unmodifiableList( new ArrayList(0 ) ; public static final Collection EMPTY_COLLECTION = Collections.unmodifiableCollection(new ArrayList(0) ); public static final Map EMPTY_MAP = Collections.unmodifiableMap( new HashMap(0) ); They have used these constants to initialize collections with immutable instances. Why they didn't simply use the Collections.EMPTY_LIST for initializing lists? Is there a benefit in using the following method?

  • One click login to my google apps solution how can I do it?

    Hi guys I'm developing a google apps solution and I'm building on the tutorial application give by google at http://code.google.com/googleapps/marketplace/tutorial_php.html - the thing is that the example given sets up the application such that the user has to enter in manually the email address or username and then it takes the user through an authentication process whereby it asks the user if they wish to allow the application to be given access to the services mentioned in the manifest.xml file. Isn't there a better way to do this I mean like I want that when the user upon logging into his google apps account just has to click in the application link installed and straight on should be able to enter the application. Can't the process of authentication and all be transparent in the backdrop. I need help on this asap. Thanks a bunch!

  • Strange behavior of move with strings

    I am testing some enhanced string related functions with which I am trying to use move as a way to copy strings around for faster, more efficient use without delving into pointers. While testing a function for making a delimited string from a TStringList, I encountered a strange issue. The compiler referenced the bytes contained through the index when it was empty and when a string was added to it through move, index referenced the characters contained.     I am making an server control application ( simple with some buttons to start/stop the server ) And when the user wants to close the application there will be prompted an confirm box. But when I start the application and close it with the X button or with "Close Window" I will be prompted with the question until I click on no, then it will close. It's a loop and it stops when you first click on yes then on no. Can someone help me with solving this ?

    In my web application, I use the .load() function in JQuery, to load some JSP pages inside a DIV. $("#myDiv").load("chat.jsp"); In chat.jsp, no Java codes is executed unless this client has Logged in, means, I check the session. String sessionId = session.getAttribute("SessionId"); if(sessionId.equals("100")){ //execute codes }else{ //redirect to log in page } Those java codes that will be executed, they will out.println(); some HTML elements. I don't want the client to write /chat.jsp in the browser to access this page, as it will look bad, and the other stuff in the main page won't be there, and this could do a harm to the web app security. How can I restrict someone from accessing chat.jsp directly, but yet keep it accessible via .load() ? UPDATE: JavaDB is a class that I made, it connects me to the Database. UPDATE If I decided to send a parameter that tells me that this request came from Jquery. .load("chat.jsp",{ jquery : "yes" }); And then check it in chat.jsp String yesOrNo = request.getParameter("jquery"); Then they can simply hack this by using this URL. /chat.jsp?jquer=yes or something like that.. UPDATE I tried Maksim's advice, I got this when I tried to access chat.jsp. Is this the desired effect?

  • Suppressing a function's command window output in Matlab

    A function I'm using has "display()" in it (or other things that display messages on command window), so it outputs a lot of things (x 1200) on command line when I run my code, which makes things hard to track and observe. Is there a way to suppress the output of this specific function? Ending the statement with semicolon obviously doesn't help.
