  • Laptop Display Not Working

    Hello, I just purchased this laptop. It is working fine but I want to use Xubuntu on it. I managed to get 10.04 installed and running but it did not recognize/use the wireless card. So I want to try 10.10. However, every time I try, the screen goes black and never comes back on. I have tried the Live CD and Alternate install CDs, for both Ubuntu and Xubuntu 10.10. After I select "Install Ubuntu" or "Try Ubuntu", the screen blacks out and never displays anything. So I deleted "quiet" and "splash" off the command line to see what messages would come up. A bunch of text flies by but it ends at: [time] TCP established hash table entries: 524288 (order: 11, 8388608 bytes) [time] TCP bind hash table entries 65536 (order: 8, 1048576 bytes) [time] TCP: Hash tables configured (established 524288 bind 65536) [time] TCP reno registered [time] UDP hash table entries: 2048 (order: 4, 65536 bytes) [time] UDP-Lite hash table entries: 2048 (order: 4, 65536 bytes) [time] NET: Registered protocol family 1 And freezes here forever. I have tried nomodeset, vga=771, and xforcevesa with no progress. Is my video card simply not going to work with this distro? It seems strange that 10.04 would work fine but not 10.10.     How can I assign text containing \r\n to an ExtJs textarea and get to see line breaks instead of the actual \r\n characters? When I manually press the Enter key and check Firebug, I can see \r\n getting inserted. But if I assign a string containing \r\n to the textarea, it renders as-is. Any hints would be helpful.

  • Fancybox - ASP.NET button not working

    I've just determined using Firebug that when Fancybox window is created it actually takes all of my ASP.NET controls (contained in DIV tag) and puts them outside FORM tag. So I guess this is the reason why then ASP.NET button doesn't do anything - it is placed outside form. So, do you have any suggestions how I can prevent this (or make that ASP.NET button work), other than using completely different modal dialog? Thanks in advance.

  • Google Streetview under V3 Code having hiccups and delays

I'm using jQuery UI to switch the tabs on the location map/street view module. I've recently upgraded the Google Maps code as well as the Google Streetview code to version 3. So when I open it in Firefox, with Firebug on, as soon as I switch to the Streetview tab, the navigation and zoom in out controls show, but nothing shows.. and then when I try to drag the map around, it does not move around, but instead, causes errors in Firebug: "too much recursion". So it causes the whole browser to become buggy, slows down, and the errors happen, and nothing shows on the streetview pane. Most of the map loading code is located in inline Javascript on the page itself. What I want from the tool is for it to show me the time it took the request to arrive at the web server.     Hi, My web application is developed with Struts2 and it was working fine till recently. All of a sudden one of the modules has started malfunctioning. The malfunctioning module is 'Update Student details' page. This page has a lot of fields like 'schoolName', 'degreeName', etc . School 1: <input name="schoolName"> School 2: <input name="schoolName"> ..... School n: <input name="schoolName"> As mentioned earlier, the page was working perfectly fine till recently. Now, one/many of the values of 'schoolName', 'degreeName', etc are being received as "" (EMPTY STRING) on the server-side. For debugging, I used firebug and remote-debugging in eclipse. I find that the post-parameters are correct on the client-side. For instance, during one of the submissions the post-parameters were as below (i noted them from firebug). Content-Type: multipart/form-data; boundary=---------------------------2921238217421 Content-Length: 48893 <OTHER_PARAMETERS> <!--Truncated for clarity --> -----------------------------2921238217421 Content-Disposition: form-data; name="schoolName" ABC Institute -----------------------------2921238217421 Content-Disposition: form-data; name="schoolName" Test School -----------------------------2921238217421 Content-Disposition: form-data; name="schoolName" XYZ -----------------------------2921238217421 Content-Disposition: form-data; name="schoolName" Texas Institute -----------------------------2921238217421 Content-Disposition: form-data; name="schoolName" XXXX School -----------------------------2921238217421-- But on the server-side, the request params were as below: schoolName=[ABC Institute, Test School, XYZ, , XXXX School], "Texas Institute" was received as "" (EMPTY STRING) in this particular case. This is not happening consistently. The parameters that become NULL (or EMPTY STRING) seem random to me - during one instance, parameter schoolName[3] became null as illustrated above, parameter schoolName[2] became null during yet another submission, etc. At times, none of the parameters are nullified. The following is the list of the interceptors in the action definition. I can see Firebug console outputs the route ids with no problem at all. It used to work just fine until couple of days ago, now my scripts don't run anymore and i get javascript error "invalid XML attribute value <script language=JavaScript>\n" with firebug. Does anyone know what this error means and how to get rid of it? i guess is something about that newline "\n" but i can't see that in my file if i open it.

  • ajax : multiple ajax calls for included js files inside jsp fragment

    I am including a jsp fragment by making an ajax call. Now this jsp frag happened to include several js files. When the ajax request is completed, it is loading each of the included js files (on fragments) using a separate get request. (I checked this using firebug.) Now is this the correct behavior (making separate get calls) or am I missing something. Is there a way to include the js files and send the response in one go ?

  • jqGrid problem, expecting jQuery.jgrid but $.jgrid exists instead

    I'm using jqGrid for a JIRA plugin and have included the jquery and jqgrid libraries as web resources. I've set up a column in jqGrid as required and when I try to submit the form with the respective column empty I get an error in firebug: jQuery.jgrid is undefined jQuery.jgrid is null but $.jgrid has the correct data. Does anyone know how I can set up jqgrid so that it points to the $.jgrid without having to change all the source code? or any other way round this? Thanks
