If I load App2.xap and App3.xap and instantiate an Application class within one of the other two XAPs. The Application.Current changes to be that new instance. System.Windows.Application obj = Activator.CreateInstance(type) as System.Windows.Application; I don't want the current application to change. I just want to get the merged Resource Dictionaries off the Application class.

• Ruby Koans 202: Why does the correct answer give a syntax error?

  I'm working through the about_classes.rb file in the Ruby Koans, and have hit a brick wall with the "inside_a_method_self_refers_to_the_containing_object" test. Here's the code: class Dog7 attr_reader :name def initialize(initial_name) @name = initial_name end def get_self self end def to_s __ end def inspect "<Dog named '#{name}'>" end end def test_inside_a_method_self_refers_to_the_containing_object fido = Dog7.new("Fido") fidos_self = fido.get_self assert_equal <Dog named 'Fido'>, fidos_self end So, I'm trying to make the first half of the assert_equal evaluate to the second half (fidos_self). When I work it out in irb, fidos_self returns <Dog named 'Fido'>, but I keep receiving a syntax error for that answer. I've seen this similar post: Ruby Koans: Where are the quotes in this return value?, but his solution (putting fido instead of <Dog named 'Fido'>) causes my rake to abort, saying the stack level is too deep. This is driving me nuts. What am I missing here?

• Dynamic content in a Gridview

  I have a gridview with couple of columns,I want to achieve the following: If user is NOT authorized display normal columns. If user IS authorized: set mouseover event for first column text and display some buttons (that are not available for NOT authorized users) in a second column when user hover over(using javascript) the first column. I am have 2 difficulties: The first one where and when should I create the buttons? I have 2 options, I can create those button on design time, in gridviews template and just set Visible value to false and then in codebehind set it to true if user is authorized. The second option would be creating this buttons dynamically in gridview_RowCreated event (or any other event) if user is authorized. The Second difficulty is setting the javascript event to show the buttons, the event should be added only if user is authorized! Note that event and buttons should have some kind of id match for Javascript function to know what should it hide/unhide when event is triggered. What should I do, what is the best practice? I know this is a long question, but please try to help :)

  Hi, I have a problem with creating the instance of a class in xaml file. I thought you can do it like this: in the resource part of the user control and then use it in the xaml file (for example bind to it). But even tough the class I created is located in the same namespace it says that: "The type was not found. Verfiy that all assemblies were built, etc". How to get it right? is there another method?   I have a multi page spread sheet in excel that needs to read information dynamically from columns on other pages and have these values show up on a main page. This is the formula I'm using: =IF(VLOOKUP($B:$B,'CP01'!$B:$BN,3,FALSE)="r","r", IF(VLOOKUP($B:$B,'CP01'!$B:$BN,3,FALSE)="a","a","")) CP01 is a sheet in the excel file and instead of look at the specific sheet I want it to look at all of the sheets in the file. Is there a way to do this as an excel formula or with excel-VBA? Edit: I also tried CP* (* being a wildcard character) and it didn't work. Edit2: Is there a way to match the value where the 'CP' is placed with its a other columns value?

  I have the following class structure for custom UITableViewCells: NumericEntryCell - Contains method for controlling max value that can be entered into a textbox. SliderCell - inherits from NEC and contains methods for handling slider-control of textbox value TextOnlyCell - just contains a textbox CellA - inherits from SliderCell and has a max value of 28 CellB - inherits from TextOnlyCell and has a max value of 150. I want NumericEntryCell to contain a definition for a property that contains the maxValue. I want to be able to set a value for this in the initialize method of a child class (CellA or CellB). Currently I have an int maxValue declared in the interface of NEC. I declare a property for this with @property int maxValue and @synthesize it within the .m file. However, attempting to modify this property's value from CellA or CellB's initialize method has no effect - when I hit a breakpoint in the NEC method that uses this value, its value is always zero. How can I get this to work?

  Im new to Smarty in combination with PHP and I really like it. Unfortunatly im running into a problem while validating fields after a $_POST has been done. I've made an array called $errors and use that to save error messages in, for example: $errors[] .= "Wrong email";. My problem is in sending the $errors array over to the template so I can use it to display the error messages. My question: How do you 'transfer' the $errors variable over to the template file so you can use it there with, for example {foreach}. I have an assignment where we are looking for missing data for a particular date - the situation is that users are required to enter a begin and an end note for their shift and their shift is either a day shift or a night shift. So within a 24 hour period there should be a day begin note, day end note, evening begin note and an evening end note I have the command written to generate the required data for ONE DAY ONLY using a BeginDate parameter supplied by the user What I need is to allow the user to enter a date range (add another parameter EndDate), then evaluate the data entry (command) for each day. The parameter being passed in using the user's input is a date and in the Group Expert the user input is not an available field Any help or suggestions would be most appreciated!

  I am constructing a lighbox gallery, currently experimenting with FancyBox (http://fancybox.net) and ColorBox (http://colorpowered.com/colorbox). By default you have to include a link to the large version of the image so that the Lightbox can display it. However, I am wanting to have the image link URLs pointing to a script rather than directly to the image file. So for example, instead of: <a href="mysite/images/myimage.jpg"> I want to do: <a href="mysite/photos/view/abc123"> The above URL points to a function: public function actionPhotos($view) { $photo=Photo::model()->find('name=:name', array(':name'=>$view)); if(!empty($photo)) { $user=$photo->user; $this->renderPartial('_photo', array('user'=>$user, 'photo'=>$photo, true)); } } At some point in the future the function will also update the view count of the image. Now this approach is working to an extent - most images load up but some do not load up (the lightbox gets displayed in a malformed state). I think the reason for this is because it is not processing the function quick enough. For example when I click the "next" button it needs to go to the URL, process the function and retreive/output the response. Does anybody know how I can get this working properly?
