  It is pretty much very common to have a sample database for any database product. Different companies keep on improving their product and keep on coming up with innovation in their product. To demonstrate the capability of their new enhancements they need the sample database. Microsoft have various sample database available for free download for their SQL Server Product. I have collected them here in a single blog post. Download an AdventureWorks Database The AdventureWorks OLTP database supports standard online transaction processing scenarios for a fictitious bicycle manufacturer (Adventure Works Cycles). Scenarios include Manufacturing, Sales, Purchasing, Product Management, Contact Management, and Human Resources. Coconut Dal Coconut Dal is a lightweight data access layer, for use in projects where the Entity Framework cannot be used or Microsoft’s Enterprise Library Data Block is unsuitable.   While trying to install deluge 1.3.3 (I need this specific version) I get an error. I install all the needed packages through sudo apt-get install g++ make python-all-dev python-all python-dbus \ python-gtk2 python-notify librsvg2-common python-xdg python-support \ subversion libboost-dev libboost-python-dev \ libboost-thread-dev libboost-date-time-dev libboost-filesystem-dev \ libssl-dev zlib1g-dev python-setuptools \ python-mako python-twisted-web python-chardet python-simplejson I then build it $ python setup.py build and $ sudo python setup.py install then I get a long list at the end of which there is the error /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lboost_iostreams collect2: ld returned 1 exit status error: command 'gcc' failed with exit status 1 Can you help me out with this?

  This evening I was looking for a way to validate an Umbraco node that could be either text or a numeric value, in my case a salary that could be either an hourly amount, an annual figure or a comment.   On a Windows 2008 R2, using DNS and IIS I've established my development test server; i.e. I'll have a web application that I can browse on http://test.dev I've moved all the static content files like images, js files and css files into another application which is visible on http://cdn.test.dev test.dev, uses cdn.test.dev urls like http://cdn.test.dev/js/jquery.js to load js, css and images. When I first load "~/" of test.dev, all files will load with a response code of 200; when I press F5 in Firefox, all files, except the "~/default.aspx", will load with 304 response code; but pressing Ctrl+F5 loads them again with a 200 code; if I browse another url like "~/pages/" in test.dev, all of those static files will reload with a 200 code... Is this normal or I'm doing something wrong? Actually, I'm looking for a behavior like this: I want the client to load http://cdn.test.dev/js/jquery.js, only once. I want the client's browser to use this jquery.js file, from cache, in all other pages of test.dev Is this possible? I have downloaded Scid 4.4 chess program and I have tried to compile it as it was explained on its website: 1) Initialize git. 2) Create a folder where you want to download and (?) compile the source, then cast: git init on your command line. 3) You're now ready to download the sources recall Fulvio's spell: git clone git://scid.git.sourceforge.net/gitroot/scid/scid This should get you the latest Scid source. 4) You're now ready to compile Scid. In principle, all you need to do is: ./configure and then make 5) If you get stuck, you probably need to get developer versions of tcl/tk. This translates into issuing these three commands: sudo apt-get install tcl8.5-dev sudo apt-get install tk8.5-dev sudo apt-get install zlib1g -dev 6) You should now be ready to compile The problem is that when I run ./configure to start compiling the following message appears on Terminal: configure: Makefile configuration program for Scid Tcl/Tk version: 8.5 Your operating system is: Linux 3.8.0-19-generic Location of "tcl.h": /usr/include/tcl8.5 Location of "tk.h": /usr/include/tcl8.5 Location of Tcl 8.5 library: not found Location of Tk 8.5 library: not found Checking if your system already has zlib installed: yes. Using Makefile.conf. Not all settings could be determined! The default Makefile was written. You will need to edit it before you can compile Scid. What should I do? Has anybody faced this problem before? Thanks in advance I have run ls -l /usr/include/tcl8.5/tcl.h here's the result: -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 87291 abr 22 10:45 /usr/include/tcl8.5/tcl.h I have also tried what you suggested Could you run git reset --hard HEAD and git clean -d -f to clean up everything using Git? Then run ./configure again. Just a shot in the dark - I've seen some GNU automake stuff still listening to its "cached" version of the results or something. Still no solution. I don't know why it can't recognize the library though it is installed I opened configure to see where the program looked for the library. The biggest stuff in TechEd NA this year was PowerShell. Fellows, if you still don’t know about it, it is better to run.   I can't seem to find an official and up-to-date documentation on how to set up file and process exclusions in Forefront Endpoint Protection 2012. For file types, which of these will work? Are they the same? ext .ext *.ext What about wildcards? .e?t .e* .*t For file paths, which wildcards are allowed and how do they work? C:\path* C:\path\s*e C:\path\somef?le C:\*\somefile C:\pa*\somefile C:\pa?h\somefile *\path *:\path For processes, can wildcard be used when specifying the file name? Same syntax as file paths? Also: I read in this post that, as of October 2009, Real Time Protection ignored wildcards; is this still true for the 2012 version?

  In a 3D game lots of different systems need to know about geometry data, however the only way they seem to be able to agree to on in representing it by an array of triangles. Can anyone recommend a good geometry manipulation library that will allow me to easily integrate the drawing library(OpenGL), the physics engine(Bullet), Serialization(Several 3D file formats) and my own code(objective-c++). Focus on the a representation between the drawing library and the physics engine. Also if the library can triangulate a mesh definition that would be very helpful. My code can work around what exists already.

  For our continuous integration needs, we use a powershell script to handle deployment. A simpler approach would be to have a deployment task embedded within the build process. See the solution provided here by Jakob Ehn (a most interesting read which also dives into the '”deploying from Visual Studio” specifics) : http://geekswithblogs.net/jakob/archive/2012/04/25/deploying-ssdt-projects-with-tfs-build.aspx   For our needs, though, clearly separating our build phase from our deployment phase is important. It allows us to instantly deploy old versions. Also it is more convenient for continuous integration. So we stick with the powershell script approach. With VSDB projects, that script used to call the following command (the vsdbcmd executable was locally available, along with needed libraries): vsdbcmd.exe /a:Deploy /dd /cs:<CONNECTIONSTRING TO TARGET DB> /dsp:SQL /manifest:< PATH TO .deploymanifest FILE>   To be able to do the approximately same thing with a SSDT produced file (dacpac), you would call this command on a machine which has VS2012 installed (or the SSDT installed, see here : http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh500335%28v=vs.103%29):   C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\110\DAC\bin\SqlPackage.exe /Action:Publish /SourceFile:<PATH TO Database.dacpac FILE> /Profile:<PATH TO .publish.xml FILE>   And from within a powershell script :   & "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\110\DAC\bin\SqlPackage.exe" /Action:Publish /SourceFile:<PATH TO Database.dacpac FILE> /Profile:<PATH TO .publish.xml FILE>   The command will consume a publish.xml file where the connection string and the deployment options are specified.   NOTE: I am self studying UML so I have nobody to verify my diagrams and hence I am posting here, so please bear with me. This is the problem I got from some PDF available on Google that simply had the following problem statement: Problem Statement: A library contains books and journals. The task is to develop a computer system for borrowing books. In order to borrow a book the borrower must be a member of the library. There is a limit on the number of books that can be borrowed by each member of the library. The library may have several copies of a given book. It is possible to reserve a book. Some books are for short term loans only. Other books may be borrowed for 3 weeks. Users can extend the loans. Draw a use case diagram for a library. I already drew the Use Case diagram and had it checked by a community member. This time I drew sequence diagrams for borrowing a book and extending the date of return. Please let me know if they are correct. I drew them using Visual Paradigm and I dont know how to keep a control of the sequence numbers. If you do, please let me know :) Diagrams

• Pass quoted argument string to Start-Process in PowerShell

  Hello I'm trying to very simply run an executable and pass a file path in as the first argument. In DOS, this would be the command: import.exe "C:\Some Path\With\Spaces.txt" By placing the path in quotes, the path is correctly parsed as the first token into the executable. In PowerShell I'm using this: $feeds = dir 'T:\Documents\Company\Product Development\Data foreach ($feed in $feeds) { start -FilePath import.exe -ArgumentList $feed.FullName } The problem with the Start-Process cmdlet in PowerShell is that it uses a string array for arguments, so the path is broken up and sent to the executable as separate tokens. Quotes in PowerShell force $feed.FullName to be treated literally. Double quotes "" make PowerShell not see anything in the argument list. "The argument is null or empty." it tells me. I expect that this is a known headache and has had a known workaround from day one. Thanks Luke

  I need to start using GIT for my projects from now on and I need to use some UNIX commands. but no matter what I do, I always receive "command not found" error. I installed MacPorts, but still cant run any UNIX command :/ When I try ls, I get the error below, same for sudo, or any other command: -bash: ls: command not found and when I try $PATH, I get the lines below: hakan-yilmaz-MacBook-Pro:~ hakanyilmaz$ **$PATH** -bash: /opt/local/bin:/opt/local/sbin:/opt/local/bin:/opt/local/sbin:/opt/local/bin:/opt/local/sbin:/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.6/bin:/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/Current/bin:/opt/subversion/bin/:PATH: No such file or directory I'm on Mac OS X 10.6.6 I spent 2-3 days and kept googling and trying everything I found at forums, but no success. SOLUTION: I opened .bash_profile with TextWrangler and removed everything else than export PATH=/opt/local/bin:/opt/local/sbin:$PATH Then, I reboot that Mac, and WORKING!!!!
