• Can I bind multiple forms to a single model using the default model binder?

  I have a complex page with several forms on it. The page is divided into sections, and each section has a continue button on it. The page is bound to a pageViewModel, each section addresses a different set of properties on the model. The continue button makes an ajax call to the controller, and the model binder binds it appropriately to the appropriate sections of the model. The section is refreshed appropriately. Finally, I would like to have a save button at the bottom of the page that takes all the forms, and binds all of the forms to the model. The model, at this point has all of the properties filled out, and can be processed accordingly. Can I accomplish this by some ASP MVC magic?

  I am using apache CXF for the first time. I am trying to establish a connection based on the CXF simple front end (Configuration notes) technology. I can't really see what I've done wrong, but I am getting a weird error (see below). I have also posted this question to [email protected], but I haven't received a response yet. The service bean that is wrapped here is a Spring / JPA service that does not know anything about the web, I want to use simple frontend to publish it as a web service without having to annotate it with Jax-ws etc. (This works in theory).   Hi, I've been trying to find this info in JBoss docs/forums/WIKIs - but could not get a concise answer to this question: Which web services stacks are supported (or you can make work on) in JBoss 5? I have a huge legacy app using Axis 1 web services which is running fine on WLS9.2. Now I have to migrate it to JBoss 5 and I have to decide whether I can leave Axis1 web services as is (at least for the time being, to get the app working on JBoss at all), or if I have to upgrade web services to Axis 2 or CXF. So, given the three options, Axis 1, Axis 2 and CXF - what does support for them look like on JBoss 5? Any gotchas, pain points, words of wisdom from experience? :)

  I have a problem where I need to display a lot of forms for detail data for a hierarchical data set. I want to display some relational fields as labels for the forms and I'm struggling with a way to do this in a more robust way. I'm assuming that the ordering of the forms in the formset and the querset used to genererate the formset keep the budgetvalues in the same order and the dictionary is created correctly. That is the budgetvalue.item.name is associated with the correct form. This scares me and I'm thinking there has to be a better way. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  I am using remoting over TCP for a prototype distributed server application where I want to have varying multiple services exposed from each remoting server process. In some cases I want the services running from the same process but I don't want whatever is using the service to care about that. I am wondering is it more efficient to have multiple services in the same process going over the same remoting channel distinguished by endpoint URI/URL or should I be creating new channels on different ports for each service in the same process? Using up ports isn't so much of a problem as the number of services will be low and the network and machine configuration is completely controlled. Also its not clear to me if remoting sends the URI string for every single message or just at connection time, and whether if the remoting framework is intelligent enough to reduce work if calls are made on the same machine and even the same process?   Hi guys, I have made a build file for the automated compilation of Oracle Forms files. The failonerror attribute is set to false so that the build file does not exit if a compilation error occurs. Unfortunately, however, though this prevents the build file from exiting when a compilation error occurs, it also appears to make the build file exit the task. This is a problem because, unless the form that does not compile successfully is the last to be tested (based on the filename of the form in alphanumerical decsending order), there will be one or more forms that the build file does not attempt to compile. So, for example, if the folder containing the forms that are desired to be compiled contains 10 forms and the first form does not compile successfully, the build file will not attempt to compile the remaining 9 forms (ie exit the task). Is there a way to make the build file attempt to compile remaining forms after encountering after failing to compile a form? Thanks in advance!

• AdPrep logs show an LDAP error

  What I am trying to do is transition our domain from Server 2003 Enterprise x32 to Server 2008 R2 Enterprise x64. Here is what I have done thus far. The 2003 server is a physical machine, the 2008 server is a virtual machine Built a virtual machine that has Server 2008 R2 Enterprise x64 and joined it to the domain as a domain member On the 2003 DC, Raised Domain Functional Level and Forest Functional Level to Windows Server 2003 On the 2003 DC, went into the registry and navigated to HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NTDS\Parameters and verified that the Schema Version is 30 On the 2003 DC, inserted the Windows Server 2008 Enterprise x32 Edition to copy over the adprep folder. This version is the only one that seemed to work On the 2003 DC, opened command prompt and went to adprep directory and ran adprep /forestprep , adprep /domainprep , and adprep /domainprep /gpprep On the 2008 server, Installed the Active Directory Domain Services role from Server Manager On the 2003 DC, went into the registry and navigated to HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NTDS\Parameters and verified that the Schema Version is now 44 When I go to run dcpromo on the 2008 server, I get a message that says: "To install a domain controller into this Active Directory forest, you must first prepare using adprep /forestprep" I went back to the 2003 DC server and went through the adprep logs and I came across this: Adprep was unable to modify the security descriptor on object CN=DomainControllerAuthentication,CN=Certificate Templates,CN=Public Key Services,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=xeroxtoledo,DC=com. [Status/Consequence] ADPREP was unable to merge the existing security descriptor with the new access control entry (ACE). [User Action] Check the log file ADPrep.log in the C:\WINDOWS\debug\adprep\logs\20100327143517 directory for more information. Adprep encountered an LDAP error. *Error code: 0x20. Server extended error code: 0x208d, Server error message: 0000208D: NameErr: DSID-031001CD, problem 2001 (NO_OBJECT), data 0, best match of: 'CN=Certificate Templates,CN=Public Key Services,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=xeroxtoledo,DC=com* In fact, I got three of these errors. The LDAP error is consistent with all three, but the top part where it says "Adprep was unable to modify the security descriptor on object" are different. They are the following: CN=DomainControllerAuthentication,CN=Certificate Templates,CN=Public Key Services,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=xeroxtoledo,DC=com. CN=DirectoryEmailReplication,CN=Certificate Templates,CN=Public Key Services,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=xeroxtoledo,DC=com. CN=KerberosAuthentication,CN=Certificate Templates,CN=Public Key Services,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=xeroxtoledo,DC=com. The credentials I am using on the 2008 server when running dcpromo is my domain account. My account is part of the domain and enterprise admin groups. I've tried various quick fixes that I've came across through Google searches that include: Disabling AntiVirus on current DCs Pointing DNS on PDC to point to itself Changing the Schema Update Allowed key to 1 and tried rerunning adprep - when rerunning adprep, told me that Forest-wide information has already been updated Disabled Windows Firewall on the Server 2008 box On the 2003 DC, went to Domain Controller Security Policy Local Policies User Rights Assignment and added Domain Admins to the Enable computer and user accounts to be trusted for delegation policy setting Both our PDC and BDC are Global Catalog Servers. Not sure if this matters or not I ran the command netdom query fsmo and verified that the FSMO role holder is the current 2003 PDC I ran dcdiag /v on the 2003 PDC and the only thing that failed was Services. Dnscache Service is stopped on the PDC I even went as far as deleting the virtual machine and recreating it from scratch - no avail... Help :(
