• Resizing an existing linux partition during Ubuntu install

  Hello All, I have Fedora Core 10 installed on a PC, occupying the whole disk (no free space). I want to add Ubuntu 10.04 desktop edition. Does Ubuntu 10.04 allow you to resize existing partitions during the installation process in order to free up some space for the Ubuntu installation? Without losing or trashing existing data, obviously. Thanks.

• Windows Server 2008 Terminal Server CALs and Remote Desktop

  Recently we have have installed Windows Server 2008 R2 on one of our development boxes at work. We have 10 Client Access Licence's for Microsoft Windows Terminal Server 2008. I'm under the impression that these licences will entitle us to have 10 concurrent connections to Remote Desktop. At the moment we are only allowed two. Can we have a RD connection per CAL? If so - how do we configure this? Thanks!

• Fast (non-blocking) way to transfer many files to another server

  I am currently attempting to transfer over 1 million files from one server to another. Using wget, it seems to be extremely slow, probably because it starts a new transfer after the previous one has been completed. Question: Is there a faster non-blocking (asynchronous) way to do the transfer? I do not have enough space on the first server to compress the files into tar.gz and transferring them over. Thanks!

• Acer Aspire 5315 Boot order doesn't show CD-ROM

  Hi, I have an ACER ASPIRE 5315 laptop. I want use the recovery disk but, the boot manager does not show the CD-ROM bootable option. In the BIOS settings the I set the boot priority to USB CD-ROM first and then the harddrive. But its not working. When I press F12 the boot manager doesnot show the USB CD-ROM device. Please assist.   I've seen this before but I forgot what's its called. Does anyone know of software that takes a picture and spits out an image of the number pi, ie. 3.14... not the symbol? It basically kinda looks like ascii art but the numbers are different shades of gray so it is like a black and white photo. Thanks!

  Hello in which location and file does firefox save, the last windows I had opened (when firefox crashed). I have a complete "hot dump" copy of a file system and need to restore the state firefox was when the system crasehd but I cant not restore the full backupitself. I can only extract the files of firefox, but I do not know in which files i have to search for the urls that were last opened when the snapshop of the whole filesystem was done. thanks!!!

  Hi, Double click on an image opens the default application associated with it. E.g. "jpg" opens with "Preview", but some times I need to open with an alternate application, e.g. photo editing software. I don't want to change the "default" handling from "Preview" but may be with "Cmd-Enter" or "Ctrl-Enter" I want to open with another application instead of "Open With"-Select Application...   Does anyone if is any player which supports to take notes while I play a movie or something? I can use notepad, but I have to use mouse or alt-tab extensively in order to switch from notepad to the player to pause the movie.
