GWT & HTML5 Video in Mobile Safari

I'm trying to code a site in GWT that plays videos with HTML5. Everything works great on the desktop, but mobile Safari on both the iPhone and iPad do not play the video. I can play a video using Video for Everybody. I've even copied the code to my own plain HTML page, and it works flawlessly. If I serve that same code via a GWT widget, mobile safari will not play the video. On the iPhone I see a gray box with a prohibitory sign around the play button, and on the iPad it shows up as a black box. I've made sure my doctype is <!DOCTYPE html>, but I don't know where else to start debugging. Perhaps it it because the code is injected via javascript? Any pointers on where to start looking would be greatly appreciated. Add Silverlight Bing Maps Control to Windows Mobile 7 application

I know the bits just came out today, but one of the first things I want to do with the newly released Windows Mobile 7 SDK is put a map up on the screen and mess around. I've downloaded the latest version of the Silverlight Maps Control and added the references to my application. As a matter of fact, the VS 2010 design view of the MainPage.xaml shows the map control after adding the namespace and placing the control. I'm using the provided VS 2010 Express version that comes with the Win Mobile 7 SDK and have just used the New Project - Windows Phone Application template. When I try to build I get two warnings related to the Microsoft.Maps.MapControl dll's. Warning 1 The primary reference "Microsoft.Maps.MapControl, Version=1.0.1.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=498d0d22d7936b73, processorArchitecture=MSIL" could not be resolved because it has an indirect dependency on the framework assembly "System.Windows.Browser, Version=2.0.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=7cec85d7bea7798e" which could not be resolved in the currently targeted framework. Flash -> ByteArray -> AMFPHP -> Invalid Image !??

Hi, Im loading images into Flash and using JPGEncoder to encode the image to a ByteArray and send this to AMF PHP which writes out the bytearray to a file. This all appears to work correctly and I can download the resulting file in Photoshop CS4 absolutely fine. When i try to open it from the desktop or open it back in Flash it doesnt work... Picasa my default image browser says "Invalid" Here is the code i use to write the bytearray to a file - $jpg = $GLOBALS["HTTP_RAW_POST_DATA"]; file_put_contents($filename, $jpg); That's it ... I use the NetConnection class to connect and call the service, do I need to say Im sending jpg data? I assumed that JPGEncoder took care of that. How can I validate the bytearray before writing the file? Do I need to set MIME type or something .. excuse the slightly noob questions, a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing. How do I merge a transient entity with a session using Castle ActiveRecordMediator?

I have a Store and a Product entity: public class Store { public Guid Id { get; set; } public int Version { get; set; } public ISet<Product> Products { get; set; } } public class Product { public Guid Id { get; set; } public int Version { get; set; } public Store ParentStore { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } } In other words, I have a Store that can contain multiple Products in a bidirectional one-to-many relationship. I'm sending data back and forth between a web browser and a web service. The following steps emulates the communication between the two, using session-per-request. I first save a new instance of a Store: using (new SessionScope()) { // this is data from the browser var store = new Store { Id = Guid.Empty }; ActiveRecordMediator.SaveAndFlush(store); } Then I grab the store out of the DB, add a new product to it, and then save it: using (new SessionScope()) { // this is data from the browser var product = new Product { Id = Guid.Empty, Name = "Apples" }); var store = ActiveRecordLinq.AsQueryable<Store>().First(); store.Products.Add(product); ActiveRecordMediator.SaveAndFlush(store); } Up to this point, everything works well. Both entities are persistent. Then I tried to save a transient Product (the one that has the updated info from the browser) that has the same ID as the one that's already associated with the session, and an exception is thrown. However, I don't know how to get around this problem. If I could get access to a NHibernate.ISession, I could call ISession.Merge() on it, but it doesn't look like ActiveRecordMediator has anything similar (SaveCopy threw the same exception). Does anyone know the solution? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

CSS: Aligning problem with rounded corners in IE 6/7 but ok in IE8/ Firefox etc

Hi there, can anyone help? I have a problem aligning rounded corners in IE6/7. Basically everything seems to work in Firefox / IE8 but in IE6/7 the left / center / and right divs get misaligned. This basically shows exactly what i am refering to. here is the example in IE8 and everything works ok http://es.drop.io/ern0fye/asset/ie8-jpg And here is the problem (this example is running in IE8 with compat mode set to IE7) http://es.drop.io/ern0fye/asset/ie7-jpg I seem to remember there being a bug in IE6/7 with lineheight or similar but i don't recall exactly. I will paste the CSS and HTML below it is very very simple. Basically there is a left div that holds the left corner image and center div which has a background of RED which is the same as the corner images and finally a right div which holds the right corner image. I would appreciate any input anyone has. Thanks in advance. Clicking the Flash container in Firefox will work Perfectly fine. You should get alert boxes in this order containing: span, div and body. Flash bubbles the event to the HTML. But this is not happening in IE. So why is Flash in IE not bubbling events to HTML? Edit: As mentioned by Andy E this behavior can also bee seen in Google Chrome which to my knowledge is not using ActiveX to embed the flash movie into the page.

Galleria jQuery plugin briefly shows all images in IE 7 & 8

I'm using the galleria jQuery plugin on a site. When the gallery first loads, all of the images appear briefly & vertically in ie 7 & 8. This doesn't happen when i isolate the gallery, only when i put it on a somewhat heavy page. This leads me to believe that it happens when the page is a little slow to load. Does anybody know a way to fix this? I feel like an overflow: hidden should fix this, but I've applied it along with a height in every container I could think of. Anybody have any ideas? Prism Commands - binding error when binding to list element ?

I've got a ItemsControl (to be replaced by listbox) which has it's ItemsSource bound to an ObservableCollection<User> which is located in the view model. The View Model contains some DelegateCommand<T> delegates for handling commands (for instance UpdateUserCommand and RemoveUserCommand). doofus ASP.Net master page scrollbar question

Like happens to all of us sometimes, I inherited some crappy code I have to fix. create text inside a rectangle using inkscape

I've put some text inside a rectangle using inkscape so the tree is like <svg:rect><svg:text><svg:tspan>text.... The problem is, I can't see the text. I've tried fiddling with the opacity of the rect to no avail. There should be a way of doing this from the UI? CSS to Replace Table Layout for Forms

I've looked at other questions and am unable to find the solution to this. Consider this image: I want to wrap divs and stack them vertically. The GREEN div would be a wrapper on a line. The BLUE div would contain an html label and maybe icon for a tooltip. The ORANGE div would contain some sort of entry (input, select, textarea). Several of these would be stacked vertically to make up a form. I am doing this now, but I have to specify a height for the container div and that really needs to change depending on the content - considering any entry could land there. Images and other stuff could land here, as well. I have a width set on the BLUE div and the ORANGE is float:left. How can I get rid of the height on divs and let that be determined by content? Is there a better way? Changing all to something else would be difficult and would prefer a way to style all elements or something. PyOpenGL - passing transformation matrix into shader

I am having trouble passing projection and modelview matrices into the GLSL shader from my PyOpenGL code. My understanding is that OpenGL matrices are column major, but when I pass in projection and modelview matrices as shown, I don't see anything. I tried the transpose of the matrices, and it worked for the modelview matrix, but the projection matrix doesn't work either way. How do I redirect a page in php

I'm having difficulties in the making the logout code for php to work. When I click on the logout button, it will go back to the home page, but when I click on the back button in the browser. I can still access the previous page, wherein the user must be logged on to access it. So I'm thinking of redirecting to the login page when the user clicks on the back button on the browser. I am new to servlets please guide me When a user clicks the "go " button with some input. The data goes to the servlet say "Test3". The servlet processes the data by the user and generates/feeds the data table dynamically Then I call the html page to draw the chart as shown in the tutorial link above. The problem is when I call the servlet it gives me a long json string in the browser as given in the tutorials "google.visualization.Query.setResponse({version:'0.6',status:'ok',sig:'1333639331',table:{cols:[{............................" Then when i manually call the html page to draw the chart i am see the chart. But when I call html page directly using the request dispatcher via the servlet I dont get the result. How to set property only on second column of a ListView?

Introduction I have a ListView and want to format only the second column. I was checking it with the Coded UI Test Builder and the property is empty. The Text and the Foreground property are being set correctly. Question Does anyone know why AutomationProperties.Name is not being set? How can I test caching and cache busting?

In PHP, I'm trying to steal a page from the Rails playbook (see 'Using Asset Timestamps' here): By default, Rails appends assets' timestamps to all asset paths. This allows you to set a cache-expiration date for the asset far into the future, but still be able to instantly invalidate it by simply updating the file (and hence updating the timestamp, which then updates the URL as the timestamp is part of that, which in turn busts the cache). It‘s the responsibility of the web server you use to set the far-future expiration date on cache assets that you need to take advantage of this feature. Here‘s an example for Apache: # Asset Expiration ExpiresActive On <FilesMatch "\.(ico|gif|jpe?g|png|js|css)$"> ExpiresDefault "access plus 1 year" </FilesMatch> If you look at a the source for a Rails page, you'll see what they mean: the path to a stylesheet might be "/stylesheets/scaffold.css?1268228124", where the numbers at the end are the timestamp when the file was last updated. So it should work like this: The browser says 'give me this page' The server says 'here, and by the way, this stylesheet called scaffold.css?1268228124 can be cached for a year - it's not gonna change.' On reloads, the browser says 'I'm not asking for that css file, because my local copy is still good.' A month later, you edit and save the file, which changes the timestamp, which means that the file is no longer called scaffold.css?1268228124 because the numbers change. When the browser sees that, it says 'I've never seen that file! Give me a copy, please.' The cache is 'busted.' I think that's brilliant. So I wrote a function that spits out stylesheet and javascript tags with timestamps appended to the file names, and I configured Apache with the statement above. Now: how do I tell if the caching and cache busting are working? I'm checking my pages with two plugins for Firebug: Yslow and Google Page Speed. Both seem to say that my files are caching: "Add expires headers" in Yslow and "leverage browser caching" in Page Speed are both checked. But when I look at the Page Speed Activity, I see a lot of requests and waiting and no 'cache hits'. If I change my stylesheet and reload, I do see the change immediately. But I don't know if that's because the browser never cached in the first place or because the cache is busted. How can I tell?

Responsive Design for your ADF Faces Web Applications

Responsive web applications are a common pattern for designing web pages that adjust their UI based on the device that access them. With the increase in the number of ADF applications that are being accessed from mobile phones and tablet we are getting more and more questions around this topic. Steven Davelaar wrote a comprehensive article covering key concepts in this area that you can find here. The article focuses on what I would refer to as server adaptive application, where the server adapts the UI it generates based on the device that is accessing the server. However there is one more technique that is not covered in that article and can be used with Oracle ADF - it is CSS manipulation on the client that can achieve responsive design. I'll cover this technique in this blog entry. The main advantage of this technique is that the UI manipulation does not require the server to send over a new UI when a change is needed. This for example allows your page to change immediately when you change the orientation of your device. (By the way this example was developed for one of the seminars in the upcoming Oracle ADF OTN Virtual Developer Day). In the demo that you'll see below you'll see a single page that changes the way it is displayed based on the orientation of the device. Here is the page with the tablet in landscape and portrait: To achieve this I'm using a CSS media query in my page template that changes the display property of a couple of style classes that are used in my page.
