  I am trying to extract phrases using rules such as the ones mentioned below on text which has been POS tagged 1) NNP - NNP (- indicates followed by) 2) NNP - CC - NNP 3) VP - NP etc.. I have written code in this manner, Can someone tell me how i can do in a better manner. • Converting contents of a byte array to wchar_t*

  I seem to be having an issue converting a byte array (containing the text from a word document) to a LPTSTR (wchar_t *) object. Every time the code executes, I am getting a bunch of unwanted Unicode characters returned. I figure it is because I am not making the proper calls somewhere, or not using the variables properly, but not quite sure how to approach this. Hopefully someone here can guide me in the right direction. The first thing that happens in we call into C# code to open up Microsoft Word and convert the text in the document into a byte array. byte document __gc[]; document = word->ConvertToArray(filename); The contents of document are as follows: {84, 101, 115, 116, 32, 68, 111, 99, 117, 109, 101, 110, 116, 13, 10} Which ends up being the following string: "Test Document". Our next step is to allocate the memory to store the byte array into a LPTSTR variable, byte __pin * value; value = &document[0]; LPTSTR image; image = (LPTSTR)malloc( document->Length + 1 ); Once we execute the line where we start allocating the memory, our image variable gets filled with a bunch of unwanted Unicode characters: ????????????????? And then we do a memcpy to transfer over all of the data memcpy(image,value,document->Length); Which just causes more unwanted Unicode characters to appear: ????????????????? I figure the issue that we are having is either related to how we are storing the values in the byte array, or possibly when we are copying the data from the byte array to the LPTSTR variable. Any help with explaining what I'm doing wrong, or anything to point me in the right direction will be greatly appreciated.

But my problem is it only should append unique values which are followed by a string. Which means : Inputs : aaa bbb aaa ccc aaa bbb ccc aaa Append should act : For aaa string there should be a list like bbb->ccc(Not bbb->ccc->bbb since bbb is already there if bbb is coming more than one time it should be increase count only.) For bbb string there should be list like aaa->ccc only For ccc string there should be list like aaa only I hope i could make myself clear. Is there any ideas? Please ask for further info.

• Pre-formatting text to prevent reflowing

  I've written a fairly simple script that will take elements (in this case, <p> elements are the main concern) and type their contents out like a typewriter, one by one. The problem is that as it types, when it reaches the edge of the container mid-word, it reflows the text and jumps to the next line (like word wrap in any text editor). This is, of course, expected behavior; however, I would like to pre-format the text so that this does not happen. I figure that inserting <br> before the word that will wrap would be the best solution, but I'm not quite sure what the best way to go about doing that is that supports all font sizes and container widths, while also keeping any HTML tags intact. I figure something involving a hidden <span> element, adding text to it gradually and checking its width against the container width might be on the right track, but I'm not quite sure how to actually put this together. Any help or suggestions on better methods would be appreciated.

  Hi all: I'm looking for help on two things. 1) I'm looking for a way for Ruby to wrap strings in HTML. I have a program I'm writing that generates a Hash of word frequencies for a text file and I want to take the results and place it into an HTML file rather than print to STDOUT. I'm thinking each string needs to be wrapped in an HTML paragraph tag using readlines() or something, but I can't quite figure it out. Then, once I've wrapped the strings in HTML 2) I want to write to an empty HTML file. Right now my program looks like: filename = File.new(ARGV[0]).read().downcase().scan(/[\w']+/) frequency = Hash.new(0) words.each { |word| frequency[word] +=1 } frequency.sort_by { |x,y| y }.reverse().each{ |w,f| puts "#{f}, #{w}" } So if we ran a text file through this and received: 35, the 27, of 20, to 16, in # . . .   Okay I've checked previous similar questions and I've been juggling with different variations of quotemeta but something's still not right. I have a line with a word ID and two words - the first is the wrong word, the second is right. And I'm using a regex to replace the wrong word with the right one. $line = "ANN20021015_0104_XML_16_21 A$xAS A$xASA"; @splits = split("\t",$line); $wrong_word = quotemeta $splits[1]; $right_word = quotemeta $splits[2]; print $right_word."\n"; print $wrong_word."\n"; $line =~ s/$wrong_word\t/$right_word\t/g; print $line; What's wrong with what I'm doing? Edit The problem is that I'm unable to retain the complete words - they get chopped off at the special characters. This code works perfectly fine for words without special characters. The output I need for the above example is: ANN20021015_0104_XML_16_21 A$xASA A$xASA But what I get is ANN20021015_0104_XML_16_21 A A Because of the $ character.

I can match what I need with two empty lines (I use regexp), because there is a pattern that allows recognize blocks of text after two empty lines. But the problem is that the whole text has Introduction part and some text in the end I do not need.   I have a site that is using custom fields, and I want to either show the content for the field if the field is being used, and if the field is not being used per a Post then of course don't show the contents of the fields. Seems my code below is not correct, as it is showing the content in the else block when the Post is not using any of the custom fields. Any help would be greatly appreciated! But the problem is that, we need to replace those words if any match is found at the beginning. i.e. in the tblInput, in case of ID 1, the words that will be replaced is only 'Hi' and not 'are' since before 'are', 'How' is there and it is not in the tblReplacement list. in case of Id 2, the words that will be replaced are 'Ok' & 'This'. Since these both words are present in the tblReplacement table and after the first word i.e. 'Ok' is replaced, the second word which is 'This' here comes first in the list of ID category 2 . Since it is available in the tblReplacement, and is the first word now, so this will also be replaced. • Writing a program which uses voice recogniton... where should I start?

  Hello! I'm a design student currently dabbling with Arduino code (based on c/c++) and flash AS3. What I want to do is to be able to write a program with a voice control input. So, program prompts user to spell a word. The user spells out the word. The program recognizes if this is right, adds one to a score if it's correct, and corrects the user if it's wrong. So I'm seeing a big list of words, each with an audio file of the word being read out, with the voice recognition part checking to see if the reply matches the input. Ideally i'd like to be able to interface this with an Arduino microcontroller so that a physical output with a motor could be achieved in reaction also. Thing is i'm not sure if I can make this program in flash, in Processing (associated with arduino) or if I need another CS3 program-making-program. I guess I need to download a good voice recognizing program, but how can I interface this with anything else? Also, I'm on a mac. (not sure if this makes a difference) I apologize for my cluelessness, any hints would be great! -Susan

• C# return and display syntax issue

  I am having trouble passing the return value from TheMethod() to Main and displaying the word if the if statement is passed as true. I have thought of two ways of doing this, neither has worked but I think I am missing synatx. Using a return ?; non void method and then displaying the returned value. Using a void method and actually writing out(example below) So yes I am new at this, however I have made so many iterations everything is blending together and I have forgot what I have tried. Any help on the syntax be great for either of these ways. Basically I need it to iterate numbers 1,2,3,4 and depending on if the current iteration matches an expression in the if statements it will display a word.   I'm running a CloudFormation template in the AWS Console. Running Stack Directly I started with a template that used IAM resources, and the console prompts me to acknowledge IAM capabilities when running the stack directly. Running Stack as a child I then tried to call the same stack from a parent stack and did not receive the same prompt. The stack then failed with the message: Requires capabilities : [CAPABILITY_IAM] Research The docs indicate that I can run CF scripts in a number of ways. • How do I renew a Web Server certificate in Windows Server 2008?

  The SSL certificate for my web site just expired a few days ago, and I would like to renew it. I originally issued it two years ago using my Windows 2008 Certificate Authority, and it's worked without a hitch in all that time, so I would like to renew the certificate as simply as possible to make sure that all the applications relying on that certificate continue to work. I can open an MMC instance and add the Certificates snap-in for the Local Computer. I can find the relevant certificate under Personal, but I can't renew it. When I select Renew certificate with new key I get the following message: Web Server Status: Unavailable The permissions on the certificate template do not allow the current user to enroll for this type of certificate. You do not have permission to request this type of certificate. However, I can't understand this, as I'm logged on as a Domain Admin and I'm running the MMC instance in elevated mode. I've checked the Web Server certificate template, and Domain Admins have the Enroll permission on this template. FWIW, I also tried rebooting the server. How can I renew the certificate?

• Sharepoint/WSS Reporting Services Integration woes

  after a number of failed attempts i seem to have successfully installed the Reporting services add-in to my WSS farm. However, I seem to be missing most of the enhanced functionality eg no report library template, no report center site template. the only additional functionality available is the report viewer web part. background: 2 server WSS 3.0 farm with CA (Central admin) WFE (web front end) and reporting services addin installed on 1, and SQL05 SP2 with Reporting services (RS) and all databases installed on other. I have a VM environment set up and have rolled this back and repeated a number of times. I have configured RS within CA and activated 'Report Server INtegration Feature'. Within the 'site settings' I have a 'Reporting Services' heading with a 'manage shared schedules' item/link, not sure if there should be other options? I was of the understanding that to view reports within sharepoint i could either create a new site using the 'report center' template or add a report library to an existing site, neither of which seems available I am at a loss as to what to do, as all online information seems to do with dealing with installation issues/errors, which i seem to have eventually got past

• Cannot get Windows snipping tool to auto run with AutoHotKey

  I am trying to get Windows 7 sniping tool to run when I hit my PRINTSCREEN keyboard button with AUTOHOTKEY. I have been unsuccessful so far though. Here is what I have for the AutoHotKey script. I have tried this PRINTSCREEN::Run, c:\windows\system32\SnippingTool.exe and this PRINTSCREEN::Run, SnippingTool.exe and this PRINTSCREEN::Run, SnippingTool And all those give me this error when I hit the PRINTSCREEN button... It basicly says it cannot find the file, however the file path seems to be correct, I can copy paste it into a window and it opens the snipping tool, any ideas why it will not work?   I'm looking specifically for a convenient way to locally archive posts from this and other similar sites. I'd like to separate the question itself from the answers, or maybe crop the question and store it, keeping the page title. Obviously I don't need to store the menu or the various other site interface chrome. The best way to do this would seem to be to associate an XSLT template with a match on the URL and use that template to pull the various relevant informations and format them. My two-part question: Is there a tool specifically built for this task? I.E. something that takes a URL and checks it against a map of path-matching expressions to templates, and outputs the result of applying the template to that resource? xmlto seems to be most of the way there, and could probably just be called from a script that does the pattern-matching, but something already integrated would be more convenient. Is such a URL_pattern-to-XSLT_template map publicly available somewhere? Question 2.5: Is it legal to do this with sites like this one that have public licenses on their content?

There is nothing wrong with that so long as the rest of your drivers and app threads can handle longer times with interrupts off while you are servicing I2C interrupts.
