  I am working on a project to convert OCR'd PDf to png using ImageMagick and ghostscript and display in the browser so that i can select words in the image by letting a user query for the word . Imagemagick works fine along with ghostscript . I have a problem with the ps2text utility where it does not work reliably with pdf's . could anybody suggest a good utility to convert postscript to text in Linux so that i can store it in a db . thereafter i use a custom written search class to find out the co-ordinates of each word and highlight the text in the browser . • Excel vba: error hiding calculated field in Pivot table

  I have written several Subs to show/hide fields in a PivotTable. Now I am trying to do the same with a calculated field, but I get an error when hiding it. I took my code from the recorder and the recorder's code also halts on the last line. I googled the error message, without serious result. Sub PrRemove() 'remove PR Dim pt As PivotTable Set pt = ActiveSheet.PivotTables("MyPivot") pt.PivotFields("MyField").Orientation = xlHidden '<- here is the error End Sub The same code works fine if MyField is a normal field (not a calculated one). I am using Excel 2007 with SP2. Any clue ?

  Hello guys! I need to search a file for a word and return the whole line and the line number with this word, then edit the line and write back to the file. Maybe the line number isn't necesary to edit a line in a file. I `was reading after seraching with regexp and opening the filechannel of the file, but I can't get the line number. Maybe there are other better ways to do this. Can you help me how to start this?

• unable to retract Sharepoint solutions

  Hi all: I am having trouble retracting solutions in SharePoint 2007. I used both the retract solution button and the stsadm command in command line. The timer job was created in both instances, but it never gets run... it just sits in the timer job definition. The Status of the target just said "Retracting (scheduled at m/dd/yyyy MM:SS AM/PM)". I've waited for a long time and nothing happens. Has anyone experienced this before, and does anyone have a solution to this problem? Thanks.

• jQuery .closest returns undefined

  I've got the code below which works fine, however the jquery to add the items doesnt find the data-parent-room value and just returns undefined. • How do I convert text to hyperlinks in C#?

  I am very very very new to C# and ASP.NET development. What I'd like to do is a find-and-replace for certain words appearing in the body text of a web page. Every time a certain word appears in the body text, I'd like to convert that word into a hyperlink that links to another page on our site. I have no idea where to even start with this. I've found code for doing find-and-replace in C#, but I haven't found any help for just reading through a document, finding certain strings, and changing them into different strings.

• Excel Add-in memory explosion

  I wrote a small .NET add in to excel 2007 that read data from external c++ api and display it inside an excel. The task manager shows that I'm having a memory leak (the memory usage is inflate linearly up to 250MB after whitch it throws an "Excel cannot complete this task with available resources error") but the problem disappears as soon as I minimize the excel window. The api uses delegates to return data and I update it into a dictionary. another thread is updating the excel from the dictionary every second. It is unlikely that the unmanaged code is responsible of the leak. Does anybody have an idea what can cause this? 10x!

• PNRP + dont see Global_ on Windows 7

  Hi, Im trying to test out PNRP in a simple app that either registers or resolves. On my Vista machine when i run 'netsh p2p pnrp cloud show list' .... I see Global_ When i try this from my Windows 7 machine i do not see Global_ i only have LinkLocal_... I can see i have an IPV6 address on the Windows 7 machine (via ipconfig) I may not just understand it enough yet - very poorly documented and most of the documentation is from Orca, 2007,etc. Makes me wonder if PNRP will just end up being another uddi.microsoft.com (i know they are nothing alike, but my point is...)

  I have my Access 2007 database configured to use "Custom" groups in the navigation pane. I've grouped all my tables in a way that makes sense. However, whenever I update a link table, it loses its grouping. I have not been able to find a way to avoid this. Since it seems to be unavoidable, I'd like to simply have a macro that adds the table back to the right group programatically. I have not found any examples on how to do this. Any suggestions?

  Hello, So I downloaded the latest version of zChaff (2007), and was trying out some very simple SAT problems. But zChaff does not output the solution (variable assignments). A very simple example input: p cnf 2 2 1 2 0 1 -2 0 And what I get: c 2 Clauses are true, Verify Solution successful. Instance Satisfiable 1 -2 Random Seed Used 0 Max Decision Level 1 Num. of Decisions 2 ( Stack + Vsids + Shrinking Decisions ) 0 + 1 + 0 Original Num Variables 2 Original Num Clauses 2 Original Num Literals 4 Added Conflict Clauses 0 Num of Shrinkings 0 Deleted Conflict Clauses 0 Deleted Clauses 0 Added Conflict Literals 0 Deleted (Total) Literals 0 Number of Implication 2 Total Run Time 5.1e-05 RESULT: SAT I can see the 1 -2 on the left of "Random Seed Used", but shouldn't this be outputing the variable assignments as "v ..." ? • Ms Excel Problem Linking Range in Source Document to Custom Function in Target Document

  I have some customer MS Excel VBA code (MS Excel 2007) that takes a range as input and then does some work on it (it is quite a large range). I want to use a separate excel document as the source of the range data. If I have both the source and target document open then the function works just fine. If I have only the target document open I get #Value! returned and stepping through in the debugger I see "Error 2023" in the data value passed in. Any ideas how I make this work without having to open both spreadsheets simultaneously?

  We have an application which listens for incoming TCP requests using the Indy 10.1.1 components that ship with Delphi 2007. Occassionally we receive incoming connections which are not from our client application. Typically, one of two things happens: 1) the connection is terminated by the client before any data is received, or 2) data is received which we're not expecting and we manually terminate the connection. However, we've received connections where no data is received and appear to persist until the client terminates the connection from their end. Is there a way to terminate such a connection from the server if no data is received after a specified amount of time?

• Optimizing simple search script in PowerShell

  I need to create a script to search through just below a million files of text, code, etc. to find matches and then output all hits on a particular string pattern to a CSV file. So far I made this; $location = 'C:\Work*' $arr = "foo", "bar" #Where "foo" and "bar" are string patterns I want to search for (separately) for($i=0;$i -lt $arr.length; $i++) { Get-ChildItem $location -recurse | select-string -pattern $($arr[$i]) | select-object Path | Export-Csv "C:\Work\Results\$($arr[$i]).txt" } This returns to me a CSV file named "foo.txt" with a list of all files with the word "foo" in it, and a file named "bar.txt" with a list of all files containing the word "bar". Is there any way anyone can think of to optimize this script to make it work faster? Or ideas on how to make an entirely different, but equivalent script that just works faster?   I have a function that gives me the following warning: [DCC Warning] filename.pas(6939): W1035 Return value of function 'function' might be undefined The function, however, is clean, small, and does have a known, expected, return value. The first statement in the function is: Result := ''; and there is no local variable or parameter called Result either. Is there any kind of pragma-like directive I can surround this method with to remove this warning? This is Delphi 2007. Unfortunately, the help system on this Delphi installation is shot, so I can't pop up the help for that warning right now. Anyone know off the top of their head what I can do?

I am tokenizing the string by spaces: return [string componentsSeparatedByString:@" "]; So my array contains: Hello I like your shoes #today...! I want to focus on "#today...!" any word that has a # in the prefix I am changing the font color. How can I make sure that only "#today" has its font color changed? I would basically like to figure out if a word has a punctuation mark at the end, and change the color for characters before the punctuation mark.

• How do I run an XSLT file?

  Alright this seems like a stupid question but I can't figure it out. I'm writing an XSLT file to translate an XML document into an XHTML document. I've used both Visual Studio and XML Notepad 2007 to preview the results of my XSLT file, but now I want to actually write out a real XHTML file so I can see how it looks in other browsers. Neither Visual Studio or XML NotePad have an obvious way to save the preview. Am I missing something. Obviously the file is getting created because something is being previewed, but I need to know where that file is being created or better yet choose its location.

When I see, Home page, on my local machine, in the content area of my page it shows me IMAGE on the right as I want to see. But, When I see that page on my remote machine It shows my IMAGE on the left, instead of right side. • "Use windows xp style dpi scaling" disables automatic auto-hide of taskbar on W7. Workaround?

  We noticed that on W7 with DPI set to 125% or to 100% with ("Use windows xp style dpi scaling") turned off, our fullscreen mode (which sets the client rect of our window = desktop rect of the main monitor) no longer hides the task bar like it does for other settings. (The setting can be found in the Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Display section after clicking on the "Set custom text size (DPI)" link) I found the following interesting article: http://www.mathies.com/weblog/?p=908 So I set out to try to work around the bug in other means than manually hiding/restoring the taskbar visibility but so far I've failed and currently believe it's a bug in W7 (and possibly vista). The following applications also fail to work properly in fullscreen mode (the taskbar is still visible): * Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 * Microsoft Word 2007 * Adobe Reader 9.1.3 These apps work (probably by hiding the task bar through the WIN32 API): * Powerpoint Slide Show I also tried creating a brand new MFC-based app and use its "SetFullScreenMode()" functionality but it fails in the same way as all other apps on the list.
