  • Custom collision

    I was recently assigned to create a siple game using the Corona SDK. The main pillar of the game would be a simple event: the user should put a ball in a basket, and I should be able to handle this event. Here is a picture for better understanding: I successfully managed to create the collision shape for the basket, but i have trouble with the collision of the inside of this basket. My first thought was the following: create a new shape size and position it to fit the "belly" of this basket add it to the physics-world, and listen to the collision. With hybrid drawing it looks like this: But there is a problem: if i add this shape to the physics, it wouldn't let the ball fall into the, basket, it will handle this shape as a solid object as well. So my question is: How could I get this custom object to collide, without blocking the ball to fall through it? I have read a lots of forum post with similar questions but none of them got a proper answer. There must be a way to do this in an elegant way. And one note: Please don't suggest checking the collision manually, with rectangle intersection, because in this simple case it would work, but later I may need to change the shape of the basket, and then it will be useless!

    I am writing my first custom column name applier for ConfORM. How do I check if another column has already been map with same mapping name? Because I am shortening the column names it is possible that I generate the same name for two different properties. I would like to know when a duplicate mapping occurs. If I don't handle this scenario ConfORM/NHibernate allows two different properties to 'share' the same column name - this is obviously creates a problem for me.

    In my little project here I have sorted a list in decending order, however, my goal is to sort it in this custom pattern. (largest - smallest - next largest - next smallest -)etc. In java I was able to do this like this... My goal is to do the same thing but in python, except backwards.     I'm trying to store a user list in a config file. I've been looking at DictionarySectionHandler and NameValueSectionHandler. I'm not too sure what the difference between these two is, but anyway, neither of them do exactly what I'd like. You can add a custom config section like so: <configSections> <section name="userAges" type="System.Configuration.DictionarySectionHandler"/> </configSections> <userAges> <add key="userName1" value="10" /> <add key="userName2" value="52" /> <userAges> Which is ok, but actually I'd prefer to be able to write: ... <userAges> <add user="userName1" age="10" /> <add user="userName2" age="52" /> <userAges> Which I feel would make the config file clearer to anyone who needed to add/remove users in future. Is there an easy way to do this?

    Hello everyone, I'm trying to bind a Label's 'Content' property to a property from some custom type I have; unfortunately, I didn't figure out how to do it, and that's why I'm here :) Let's assume that I have the following type (can be in the same namespace as my WPF Window that contains the Label or different namespace): namespace MyNS { pubic class Person { private int age = 0; public int Age { get { return age; } } public void GetOlder { age++; } } } 1) How to I bind my Label to 'Age' property? 2) At runtime I will create an instance of 'Person'; I want to make sure that my Label is bound to the right instance; i.e. if I called: Person SomePerson = new Person(); SomePerson.GetOlder(); I want my Lable to have the new value of 'Age' property for 'SomePerson'. 3) If #2 was possible (I hope so), what if I called 'GetOlder' in different thread? It appears that when I submit the form the file is not sent and I am unsure as to why? I have also been unsuccessful in finding an example online where a file upload is used in conjunction with other input types. Another query I have is that for Create, and Edit operations I have used a PartialView for my forms to make my application have higher code reuse. The form action is normally generated by just using: Html.BeginForm() And this populates the action depending on which Url is being used Edit or Create. However when populating HTML attributes you have to provide a action and controller value to pass HTML attributes. using (Html.BeginForm("Create", "Problem", FormMethod.Post, new { id = "ProblemForm", enctype = "multipart/form-data" })) Is it possible to somehow populate the action and controller value depending on the URL to maintain code reuse? Thinking about it whilst typing this I could set two values in the original controller action request view data and then just populate the value using the viewdata values?   • WPF - Overlapping Custom Tabs in a TabControl and ZIndex

    Problem I have a custom tab control using Chrome-shaped tabs that binds to a ViewModel. Because of the shape, the edges overlap a bit. I have a function that sets the tabItem's ZIndex on TabControl_SelectionChanged which works fine for selecting tabs, and dragging/dropping tabs, however when I Add or Close a tab via a Relay Command I am getting unusual results. Does anyone have any ideas? I know some of the changes are in effect because if none of them were working then the tab edges would be reversed (the right tabs would be drawn on top of the left ones). Clicking a tab will correctly set the zindex of all tabs (including the one that should be drawn on top) and dragging/dropping them to rearrange them also renders correctly (which removes and reinserts the tab item). The only difference I can think of is I am using the MVVM design pattern and the buttons that Add/Close tabs are relay commands. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening and how I can fix it?? p.s. I did try setting a ZIndex in my ViewModel and binding to it, however the same thing happens when adding/removing tabs via the relay command. EDIT: Being a new user I couldn't post images and could only post 1 link. Images just show a picture of what the tags render as after each scenario. Adding more then 1 at a time will not reset the zindex of other recently-added tabs so they go behind the tab on the Right, and closing tabs does not correctly render the ZIndex of the SelectedTab that replaces it and it shows up behind the tab on its right.

  • Asp.Net 3.5 Routing to Asmx Webservice?

    I was looking for a way to route http://www.example.com/WebService.asmx to http://www.example.com/service/ using only the ASP.NET 3.5 Routing framework without needing to configure the IIS server. Until now I have done what most tutorials told me, added a reference to the routing assembly, configured stuff in the web.config, added this to the Global.asax: protected void Application_Start(object sender, EventArgs e) { RouteCollection routes = RouteTable.Routes; routes.Add( "WebService", new Route("service/{*Action}", new WebServiceRouteHandler()) ); } ...created this class: public class WebServiceRouteHandler : IRouteHandler { public IHttpHandler GetHttpHandler(RequestContext requestContext) { // What now? } } ...and the problem is right there, I don't know what to do. The tutorials and guides I've read use routing for pages, not webservices. Is this even possible? Ps: The route handler is working, I can visit /service/ and it throws the NotImplementedException I left in the GetHttpHandler method.

    I can't seem to get the ASP.NET engine to handle ALL wildcard mapping. When I try to make a request that is supposed to be handled by the asp.net engine, i get a 404 error from the StaticFile handler Here is the content of my web.config file.   • WCF custom certificate validation with BasicHttpBinding

    I have a WCF application hosted on IIS 6 that needs to Have 2-way SSL authentication Validate client certificate content with some client host information Validate client certificate is issued by the valid subCA. I was able to do 1) successfully. I am trying to achieve 2) and 3) by following this - basically creating a class that inherits X509CertificateValidator and overriding the Validate method with my own validation implementation(step 2 and 3). I followed the MSDN instructions exactly however, it seem that the Validate method is not being called. I purposely throw a SecurityAccessDeniedException in the overidden Validate method and no exception is thrown when I tried to access the service via my browser. I can still access my website with any client certificate. I also read this thread but it didn't really help. Any help would be greatly appreciated!   • Urlrewriting.net pages are not causing postbacks

    I'm using webforms with UrlRewriting.Net to rewrite pages, e.g. http://www.example.com/stuff.aspx?c=30 becomes http://www.example.com/stuff/30-this-stuff.aspx. It works in so far as the correct content is loading; however, none of the postbacks are working (mostly buttons on the page). If I set up a breakpoint on Page_Load, I see that IsPostBack is always false. Any ideas on how to fix this? Right now I'm just on Visual Studio 2008. EDIT: I have since switched to UrlRewriter.Net, which worked after a few tweaks (see Scott Gu's article). Besides here, I have posted my original problem to the developer's forum: if I ever get an answer, I'll post it here (unless else posts it here first).

    I have a sidebar (right sided iframe) and when i click on a link in it, it opens a new window in IE8, (in firefox it open a new tab). What do i need to do to open links in IE8 in a new tab. I already set the Tools-Internet Options-Settings- 'Always open pop-ups in a new tab' and 'A new tab in the current window' open in new tab but still doesn't work. My links are pretty simple, what am i missing ? exemple: text. Also some site are saying to register Regsvr32 actxprxy.dll to fix this problem, still doesn't work. And i want this to work with a simple click, no 'right-click-open in new tab' option. I also hope i won't get the 'can't change how ie8 works' answer. ;)

  • Forward event from custom UIControl subclass

    My custom subclass extend UIControl (MyCustomUIControl) Basically it contains 3 subviews: UIButton (UIButtonTypeCustom) UIImageView UILabel All the class works great but now I want to connect some events generated from this class to another. In particular when the button is pressed I want to forward the event to the owner viewcontroller so that I can handle the event. The problem is that I can't figure out how to implement this behaviour. Within EditableImageView I can catch the touch event using [button addTarget:self action:@selector(buttonPressed:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside] but I don't know how to forward it inside of the buttonPressed selector. I also tried to implement touchesBegan but it seems never called...   • Do I need to use any other attributes other than CssClassProperty to enabled design-time support?

    Hi, I'm trying to provide the same design-time support that the CssClass provides on some custom properties of a server control. The documentation suggests that decorating the property with the CssClassProperty is all that's required. [CssClassProperty] public string SomeOtherCssClass{get;set;} This has no effect, in vs2008 or vs2010. I've looked at the WebControl class using reflector and implemented all the attributes, and every combination thereof, to my property and still no class dropdown. Some blog posts suggest that the use of the Editor attribute but a) there's not mention of it in the documentation and b) none of editors which are remotely related to css classes have any effect either. Am I missing something to enable this feature? Thanks in advance, Keith.

    I'm writing a plug-in for WordPress which in fact will be a separate ordering module (it will be placed in an IFRAME on the site I'm developing as well as others) but with its admin tied into WordPress. I wrote the administration part without too much hassle, however I'm having trouble with the front-end. First of all I'd like my script to be accessible via www.mysite.com/order/ and, as per the WordPress codex, I found I need to place the following code into my main plugin file: add_action('init', 'ta_flush_rewrite_rules'); function ta_flush_rewrite_rules() { global $wp_rewrite; $wp_rewrite->flush_rules(); } add_action('generate_rewrite_rules', 'ta_add_rewrite_rules'); function ta_add_rewrite_rules( $wp_rewrite ) { $new_rules = array("order/(.+)" => "/wp-content/plugins/my-plugin/order.php"); $wp_rewrite->rules = $new_rules + $wp_rewrite->rules; } But it doesn't work and I don't really want to get dirty with .htaccess hacking. Furthermore even if this would work, the order.php file is a separate file from my plugin. This means that I'll have to include some WordPress files in order to have access to the database and other helper classes and functions. That brings us to question number 2: is there a way for the URL to call a function of my plugin to render the order page?

    I have created a new ActionFilter for an ASP.NET MVC application that I'm creating. I have an action which accepts an Http Post and the argument of the action method accepts an object, for which I have created and registered a custom model binder. I noticed that inside the IActionFilter.OnActionExecuting the value for filterContext.Controller.ViewData.Model is always null despite the fact that it looks like the model binder is always invoked before the action filter OnActionExecuting method. In contrast to this inside the IActionFilter.OnActionExecuted method of the same action filter the value for filterContext.Controller.ViewData.Model is not null. Do you guys know if this is by design or a bug? If by design are their any links which describe why this is? Thanks.
