  • free Raw-File Converter/Editor

    I have RAW files output by a program with a specific set of properties (Photoshop RAW, 16 bits, IBM PC byte order, no header, 1 non-interleaved channel, variable sizes like 257X257 or 129X513); does anyone know of a free tool that will allow me to convert to and from this format, and possibly do basic editing (selection, copy/paste, rotation of selection)? I've tried Picasa, XNView, and Paint Shop Pro 7 and none of them work properly. The closest i get is Paint Shop Pro which will at least make a serviceable attempt to open these files but i can't set all of the proper settings. XNView just might be able to edit it if i can figure out how to change the open settings for a particular raw file. So my questions at current are: how do i tell XNView to open a raw file a particular way? Failing that, is there any free tool that can open Photoshop-RAW files with the above settings (that's not photoshop)? If it helps, i'm trying to import/export/edit hieghtmap data for maps for Supreme Commander.

  • Open file in local text editor from within an SSH connection

    I'm not a vim guy. I'd like to be able to open log files in Sublime Text when in an SSH connection from within Terminal. Is there a way I could do this? I'm thinking there must be a command or something that could copy the file over to a temporary directory in OS X and then open it in Sublime Text, and when I save it, it'll copy back to the original location through SSH; similar to how FileZilla does it. I'm on Mac OS X MT. The server I SSH into is running Ubuntu. I'm using Terminal.

    On my Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit system, I have changed the following setting: Local Computer Policy - Computer Configuration - Windows Settings - Security Settings - Local Policies - User Right Assignment - Deny access to this computer from the network This setting was by default "Guest" and I deleted this so that Guest can access a defined network share over the LAN. But later, I have changed my mind and wanted to return this setting to its default. So I edited that setting and specified Guest. But the setting became MYWINPC\Guest. So my question is, what is the difference between the previous setting "Guest" and MYWINPC\Guest? And how do I return this setting to its default value, "Guest"?

    I am new to WebAPI. I have a MVC project and webApi project both reside under the **same solution**. Also, BLL Class library and DAL class library reside under the same solution. Earlier, my MVC project will talk to the BLL now I am trying to create a WebAPi project which stands in between MVC and BLL. Here is what I have come up with so far : I'm using the HTTPClient to post to a WebApi project. My post method on my controller accepts a single parameter (a model). StatsCriteria criteria = new StatsCriteria(); ...... var client = new HttpClient(); var response = client.PostAsJsonAsync("http://localhost:52765/api/reports", criteria).Result; .......   • What do you call a generalized (non-GUI-related) "Model-View-Controller" architecture?

    I am currently refactoring code that coordinates multiple hardware components for data acquisition, and feeling a bit like I'm recreating the wheel. In particular, an MVC-like pattern seems to be emerging. Except, this has nothing to do with a GUI and I'm worried that I'm forcing this particular pattern where another might be more appropriate. Here's my scenario: Individual hardware "component" classes obey interface contracts for each hardware type. Previously, component instances were orchestrated by a single monolithic InstrumentController class, which relied heavily on configuration + branching logic for executing a specific acquisition sequence. After an iteration, I have a separate controller for each component, with these controllers all managed by a small InstrumentControllerBase (or its derivatives). The composite system will receive "input" either programmatically or via inter-hardware component triggering - in either case these interactions are routed to, and handled by, the appropriate controller. So, I have something that feels MVC-esque, but I don't know if that's because I'm forcing the point. With little direct MVC experience in application development, it's hard to know if I'm just trying to make my scenario fit MVC, where another pattern might be a good alternative or complimentary. My problem is, search results and wiki documentation of these family of patterns seems to immediately drop me into GUI-specific discussions. I understand "M means Model data and the V means View" - but do you call the superset pattern? Component-Commander-Controller? Whence can I exhume examples exemplary?

  • Xcode custom project template creates only references to files

    Hi, I tried to create a custom project template for setting up unit testing. The problem is that when i create a new project based on this template it creates references to the template files : When i edit a file, it changes my template files instead of my actual project files ! When i delete my template, files from my actual project becomes red ! The project template is in : /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/Library/Xcode/Project Templates/Application/Test-based Application Reading some question on stack overflow i tried to install my template project in /Library/Application Support/Developer/Shared/Xcode/Project Templates But i cannot see my template when i create a new project.     My understanding is that template argument deduction is only for function templates, but function templates does not allow partial specialization. Is there a way to achieve both? I basically want to achieve a function-like object (can be a functor) with the signature template<class InputIterator1, class InputIterator2, class OutputIterator, int distribution> void GetQuantity(InputIterator1 frist1, InputIterator1 last1, InputIterator2 first2, OutputIterator result, double supply, double limit); Depending on the value of distribution, I want to have a couple of specializations of this template. And when I call this function,I basically do not want to specify all the type parameters, because they are many of them (and thus I need argument deduction)!

    Hi, I wrote some C++ code in which I used Templates. Since I used templates, I could not initialize a couple of template class variables. I got an warning message from valgrind saying Conditional jump or move depends on uninitialized value(s). So is there a way to get around this and/or initialize template variables?? I couldn't think of a way to do it because even if I initailize them as NULL, when I use string data type a run time failure occurres. Thank You!

    Would it be considered best practice to use a single template that changes it's output based on script values, or have multiple templates, and use the view to pick the correct one instead? Should I instead have a normal mode, and an edit mode template, and use the attribute on the model to pick the template ? For background purposes, I am using backbone.js with underscore templates and an MVC3 backend.

The declaration and definition must not be separate because the appropriate form of the template is created "on-demand" when needed. So, how and where are templates typically defined in a multiple-file project like this? My intuition is that it would be in Foo.cpp because that's where the "meat" of functions normally is, but on the other hand it's the header file that's going to be included.

    Hi everyone, We're in the middle of making a new e-commerce related PHP application and we have come to the point where we have started to think about how we should solve templating for our customers needs. What we would like to do is offer our customers the possibility of uploading/modifying templates to suit their company:s profile. The initial thought is that we shall not reinvent the wheel, so instead letting our customers upload their templates with FTP, so there will be basic HTML skills required. For those customers that want to modify/customize template and doesnt have the knowledge, we offer that service as well. I know that there's a number of issues to solve before this could be considered safe, like preventing XSS and writing scripts that check through each uploaded file for potential security threats and so on. Of course, there are some part that probably will be to complex for the customer to modify by themselves, so maybe this approach won't apply to all<< template files in the frontend application. But besides that, what would be a good way to handle this?

    Hello guys, at the moment I'm really interested in expression templates and want to code a library for writing and differentiating mathematical functions with a lambda-style syntax. At the moment, I'm able to write (_x * _x)(2); and get the correct result 4. But I would really like to do something like MathFunction f = _x * _x; f(2);, but I don't have any ideas on how to cope with the recursive expression templates on the right side. Is it possible to achieve this without using the 'auto'-Keyword instead of MathFunction or having to make the operator() virtual? Thanks for your help!

    What's a good way to handle commonly occurring subsections of templates? For example, there is a sub-header section that's used across 4 different pages. The pages are different enough to not work well with template inheritance (ie. "extends" doesn't fit well). Is "include" the recommended method here? It feels a bit heavyweight, requiring each subsection or snippet to be in its own file. Are there any performance issues in using include or is it smart about forming template from the subsections (ie. if I make extensive use of it, do I pay any penalties)? I think what I'm looking for is something like template tags, but without the programming - a simple way to create a library of html template tags I can sprinkle in other templates.

    I'm using spring mvc in my application and I'm writing junit test cases for a DAO. But when I run the test, I get an error java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: javax.servlet.ServletContext. In the stacktrace, I see that this error is caused during getApplicationContext. In my applicationContext, I havent defined any servlet. Servlet mapping is done only in web.xml so I dont understand why I'm getting this error. There is only one requirement: it has to be manage code only (by this I mean, it can't use mshtml COM object (WebBrowser control)).
