  • UINavigation Bar while moving view for writing in a textfield

    - by ObiWanKeNerd
    i'm using this code to move the view when i'm about to type on a textfield, otherwise the keyboard may cover the textfield if it's in the lower side of the screen. I would like to know if there is a way to maintain the UINavigation Bar in it's place, because with this code the bar will move with all the view outside the screen, becoming untouchable until i end editing the textfield (closing the keyboard). CGFloat animatedDistance; static const CGFloat KEYBOARD_ANIMATION_DURATION = 0.3; static const CGFloat MINIMUM_SCROLL_FRACTION = 0.2; static const CGFloat MAXIMUM_SCROLL_FRACTION = 0.8; static const CGFloat PORTRAIT_KEYBOARD_HEIGHT = 216; static const CGFloat LANDSCAPE_KEYBOARD_HEIGHT = 162; - (void)textFieldDidBeginEditing:(UITextField *)textField { CGRect textFieldRect = [self.view.window convertRect:textField.bounds fromView:textField]; CGRect viewRect = [self.view.window convertRect:self.view.bounds fromView:self.view]; CGFloat midline = textFieldRect.origin.y + 0.5 * textFieldRect.size.height; CGFloat numerator = midline - viewRect.origin.y - MINIMUM_SCROLL_FRACTION * viewRect.size.height; CGFloat denominator = (MAXIMUM_SCROLL_FRACTION - MINIMUM_SCROLL_FRACTION) * viewRect.size.height; CGFloat heightFraction = numerator / denominator; if (heightFraction < 0.0) { heightFraction = 0.0; } else if (heightFraction > 1.0) { heightFraction = 1.0; } UIInterfaceOrientation orientation = [[UIApplication sharedApplication] statusBarOrientation]; if (orientation == UIInterfaceOrientationPortrait || orientation == UIInterfaceOrientationPortraitUpsideDown) { animatedDistance = floor(PORTRAIT_KEYBOARD_HEIGHT * heightFraction); } else { animatedDistance = floor(LANDSCAPE_KEYBOARD_HEIGHT * heightFraction); } CGRect viewFrame = self.view.frame; viewFrame.origin.y -= animatedDistance; [UIView beginAnimations:nil context:NULL]; [UIView setAnimationBeginsFromCurrentState:YES]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:KEYBOARD_ANIMATION_DURATION]; [self.view setFrame:viewFrame]; [UIView commitAnimations]; } - (void)textFieldDidEndEditing:(UITextField *)textField { CGRect viewFrame = self.view.frame; viewFrame.origin.y += animatedDistance; [UIView beginAnimations:nil context:NULL]; [UIView setAnimationBeginsFromCurrentState:YES]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:KEYBOARD_ANIMATION_DURATION]; [self.view setFrame:viewFrame]; [UIView commitAnimations]; } Thanks in advance!

I've tried document.myForm.myTextArea.focus(); which works in regular safari, but it does not seem to work in mobile safari. To clarify, i want to set focus to a text box as soon as the user loads a page, and have the iphone keyboard pop up.

  • Keeping an application on top and in focus - always

    - by James Newton-King
    I am creating a kiosk application and I want to ensure it is always, no matter what, on top of other Windows applications and the Windows task bar. I am already blocking Windows keyboard commands (alt-tab, etc) but there are still situations that could cause an application to launch and steal the screen. Is it possible to hook into Windows from .NET and continually test whether the application has focus and is on top, and if not then give it focus and make it on top?

  • Remove tabstop from ButtonColumn inside DataGrid

    - by Faruz
    Is there any way to disable keyboard tabStop for a ButtonColumn inside a dataGrid? I want the buttons there to be only enabled through mouse-clicks, because sometimes the grid can be large and I want that pressing "tabs" will skip the grid and move to the other controls on the page.

    - by neoneye
    How does one react to menuitems that are clicked via mouse or invoked via keyboard, e.g: CMD+Q ? [NSApp beginSheet:my_sheet ...arguments... ]; /* The sheet is now shown and the mainmenu isn't usable. How does one make it usable? */ [NSApp endSheet:my_sheet returnCode:0];

  • automate operations within a Virtualbox machine

    - by samb
    Hi, I'm Having some trouble in a vm that seems to occur only once in a hundred during shutdown/reboot. To help the debug, I'm thinking to write a script that runs on my desktop, which starts the vm and automate operations for a huge number of times (keyboard key pressed) whithin it. (VirtualBox preferred). It's just exactly how a script using the expect lib would do with a program in command line. I'm not sure it's possible, but anyway, if anyone has an idea... Cheers

  • How to set input focus to a shown dialog in Qt?

    - by Jake Petroules
    In a button click slot, I create and exec() a dialog with a NULL parent. Inside the dialog's constructor, I have: this->activateWindow(); this->raise(); this->setFocus(); The dialog is application modal and has strong focus. However, it does NOT respond to keyboard events until I click on it. How do I make the dialog get focus without having to click it?

  • Access the next button event android

    - by Sephy
    I don't know if it's very clear, but i'm trying to do something when the "next" (bottom right corner of the keyboard) is pressed, and i can't find its keycode. I have tried to look for "next" or "enter" in the keycodes but nothing really relevant... does anyone know? (actually, i've found the enter keycode to be precise, but it does not do anything)

  • SendKeys.SendWait doesn't works

    - by Guy
    My target is to send keyboard events to external application. From my application, I'm launching a C# exe (console application) that bring the target application to the front and uses SendKeys.SendWait to send keyboards events. I ran into a rate case were the command don't have any affect. When debugging it, it works but when running it not in debug it fails. I think it as something to do with the fact that when debugging my application is the active application.

  • Strange behavior of DDD debugger in Ubuntu

    - by Alex Farber
    I installed DDD debugger in Ubuntu and trying to work with it. It looks like DDD UI doesn't work properly with Ubuntu desktop environment. Edit boxes are almost unusable: sometimes they accept keyboard input, most of times input is ignored. Internal resizing panes are not working. Is there some way to get DDD UI working properly? The same behavior is in Ubuntu 9.10 32 bit, and 10.4 64 bit, so this is not Ubuntu version issue.

  • How much does Javascript garbage collection affect performance?

    - by Long Ouyang
    I'm writing a bunch of scripts that present images serially (e.g. 1 per second) and require the user to make either a keyboard or mouse response. I'm using closures to handle the timing of image presentation and user input. This causes garbage collection to happen pretty frequently and I'm wondering if that will affect the performance (viz. timing of image presentation).

  • Disable animations when ending search in iPhone

    - by camilo
    Hi. A quicky: is there a way to dismiss the keyboard and the searchDisplayController without animation? I was able to do it when the user presses "Cancel", but when the user presses the black "window thingy" above search field (only visible while the user hasn't inserted any text), the animation always occurs, even when I change the delegate functions. Is there a way to control this, or as an alternative, to disable the user to end searching by pressing the black window? Thanks in advance.

  • How to Make ESC exits full-screen mode in Trusted Application?

    - by Jeaffrey Gilbert
    One consequence of the keyboard-restriction change is that pressing ESC will not exit full-screen mode in trusted applications. This enables you to use the ESC key for other functionality. However, you must provide your own user interface for exiting full-screen mode. Reference: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee721083(v=VS.95).aspx#fullscreen_support I need to make pressing ESC will exit from full-screen mode in trusted application without provide a UI control in all pages. Please give me hints, thank you.

  • How can I disable mouse click event system wide using C#?

    - by mazzzzz
    Hey guys, I have a laptop with a very sensitive touch pad, and wanted to code a small program that could block the mouse input when I was typing a paper or something. I didn't think it would be hard to do, considering everything I've seen on low-level hooks, but I was wrong (astounding, right?). I looked at a few examples, but the examples I've seen either block both keyboard and mouse, or just hide the mouse. Any help with this would be great.
