• OpenVPN Server Ethernet Bridging Question

  Hello All, I am having a difficult time properly configuring an ethernet bridge using OpenVPN 2.0.9 install on CentOS 5 ( VPN server ). The goal that I am trying to complete is to connect a VM ( instance running on the same CentOS machine ) acting as a Microsoft Business Contact Manager server. I would then like this "BCM server" to serve Windows XP clients on 192.168.1.0/24 network as well as clients connecting from VPN ( 10.8.0.0/24 ). The setup as it is now was based off a known working configuration. The problem with the working configuration was that it would allow to the client to connect and access everything running on the VPN server ( SVN, Samba, VM Server ) but not any computers on the 192.168.1.0/24 network. I must disclose that the VPN server is behind a router/firewall. • Need help configurating my Tomcat server

  I just reinstalled my entire server, and now I can't seem to get my JSP-based website to work on Tomcat anymore. As I said, this configuration worked before, but now with the latest verion of XAMPP and Tomcat it doesn't work anymore. All I get is a 404 message saying The requested resource () is not available.

• Uncompiled WCF on IIS7: The type could not be found

  Hello, I've been trying to follow this tutorial for deploying a WCF sample to IIS . I can't get it to work. This is a hosted site, but I do have IIS Manager access to the server. However, in step 2 of the tutorial, I can't "create a new IIS application that is physically located in this application directory". I can't seem to find a menu item, context menu item, or what not to create a new application. I've been right-clicking everywhere like crazy and still can't figure out how to create a new app. I suppose that's probably the root issue, but I tried a few other things (described below) just in case that actually is not the issue. This is "deployed" at http://test.com.cws1.my-hosting-panel.com/IISHostedCalcService/Service.svc . The error says: The type 'Microsoft.ServiceModel.Samples.CalculatorService', provided as the Service attribute value in the ServiceHost directive, or provided in the configuration element system.serviceModel/serviceHostingEnvironment/serviceActivations could not be found. I also tried to create a virtual dir (IISHostedCalc) in dotnetpanel that points to IISHostedCalcService . When I navigate to http://test.com.cws1.my-hosting-panel.com/IISHostedCalc/Service.svc , then there is a different error: This collection already contains an address with scheme http. There can be at most one address per scheme in this collection. • Set the JAXB context factory initialization class to be used

  I have updated our projects (Java EE based running on Websphere 8.5) to use a new release of a company internal framework (and Ejb 3.x deployment descriptors rather than the 2.x ones). Since then my integration Tests fail with the following exception: [java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.ibm.xml.xlxp2.jaxb.JAXBContextFactory] I can build the application with the previous framework release and everything works fine. While debugging i noticed that within the ContextFinder (javax.xml.bind) there are two different behaviours: Previous Version (Everything works just fine): None of the different places brings up a factory class so the default factory class gets loaded which is com.sun.xml.internal.bind.v2.ContextFactory (defined as String constant within the class). Upgraded Version (ClassNotFound): There is a resource "META-INF/services/javax.xml.bind.JAXBContext" beeing loaded successfully and the first line read makes the ContextFinder attempt to load "com.ibm.xml.xlxp2.jaxb.JAXBContextFactory" which causes the error. I now have two questions: What sort is that resource? Because inside our EAR there is two WARs and none of those two contains a folder services in its META-INF directory. Where could that value be from otherwise? Because a filediff showed me no new or changed properties files. No need to say i am going to read all about the JAXB configuration possibilities but if you have first insights on what could have gone wrong or help me out with that resource (is it a real file i have to look for?) id appreciate a lot. Many Thanks! EDIT (according to comments Input/Questions): Out of curiosity, does your framework include JAXB JARs? Did the old version of your framework include jaxb.properties? Indeed (i am a bit surprised) the framework has a customized eclipselink-2.4.1-.jar inside the EAR that includes both a JAXB implementation and a jaxb.properties file that shows the following entry in both versions (the one that finds the factory as well as in the one that throws the exception): javax.xml.bind.context.factory=org.eclipse.persistence.jaxb.JAXBContextFactory I think this is has nothing to do with the current issue since the jar stayed exactly the same in both EARs (the one that runs/ the one with the expection) It's also not clear to me why the old version of the framework was ever selecting the com.sun implementation There is a class javax.xml.bind.ContextFinder which is responsible for initializing the JAXBContextFactory. This class searches various placess for the existance of a jaxb.properties file or a "javax.xml.bind.JAXBContext" resource. If ALL of those places dont show up which Context Factory to use there is a deault factory loaded which is hardcoded in the class itself: private static final String PLATFORM_DEFAULT_FACTORY_CLASS = "com.sun.xml.internal.bind.v2.ContextFactory"; Now back to my problem: Building with the previous version of the framework (and EJB 2.x deployment descriptors) everything works fine). While debugging i can see that there is no configuration found and thatfore above mentioned default factory is loaded. Building with the new version of the framework (and EJB 3.x deployment descriptors so i can deploy) ONLY A TESTCASE fails but the rest of the functionality works (like i can send requests to our webservice and they dont trigger any errors). While debugging i can see that there is a configuration found. This resource is named "META-INF/services/javax.xml.bind.JAXBContext". Here are the most important lines of how this resource leads to the attempt to load 'com.ibm.xml.xlxp2.jaxb.JAXBContextFactory' which then throws the ClassNotFoundException. • Microsoft Enterprise Library Caching Application Block not thread safe?!

  Good aftenoon, I created a super simple console app to test out the Enterprise Library Caching Application Block, and the behavior is blaffling. I'm hoping I screwed something that's easy to fix in the setup. Have each item expire after 5 seconds for testing purposes. Basic setup -- "every second pick a number between 0 and 2. if the cache doesn't already have it, put it in there -- otherwise just grab it from the cache. Do this inside a LOCK statement to ensure thread safety. • MSVC Compiler options with mojo-native in Maven

  I'm trying to set up a test environment with Maven to build VC++ and I am way behind on this. I have 3 source files that I builds a dll (once I get this fixed it should be a simple matter to add the unit-tests): hook.cpp hook.h hook.def This is compiled, on the command line, with the following: C:\Develop\hook\src\main\msvc>cl -o hook.dll Hook.cpp /D HOOK_DLLEXPORT /link /DLL /DEF:"Hook.def" Which produces the expected obj, dll, lib and exp files. So now to get this working in Maven2 with the Mojo-native plugin. • WCF app Deployed on Win7 Machine and get connection refused error

  I have created a Sync Framework application based on the following sample from microsoft and deployed it to a new Windows 7 machine for testing. The app runs ok but when I attempt to communicate I get the following error: Could not connect to http://localhost:8000/RelationalSyncContract/SqlSyncService/. TCP error code 10061: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1:8000. I am wondering if there is something I am missing. This is my first experience using WCF and followed microsoft sample code. I have disabled the firewall and opened port 8000 for both TCP and UDP. Not sure what to look at next. • Own DataFormWebPart: Unable to display this Web Part.

  Hi, What I want is to display a paginable list from my custom data source. All came from the fact that I needed some logical relationships between seach scopes and some dates. I considered ContentQueryWebpart, but CAML is too complicated as I have plenty of different conditions, CoreResults webpart is too limited as it uses KeyWordQuery so I inherited from DataFormWebPart to display my own custom search results from my own custom xml source. Thats the best way i am aware of... I knew I needed some configuration to write in my pageLayout like MyWebParts:MyCustomWebPart etc so I went to Designer, put DataFormWebPart on a page, linked it to list of pages, and set multiple item view and that gave me some configuration.. Firstly i checked if DataFormWebPart works when put on pageLayout and it sucessfully displayed my pages list in pages library. But that was not what I wanted, i needed to set my own XML data source... I then changed the configuration of WebPartPages:DataFormWebPart to match mine and detach from any listName or listId and I change the XSL tag to much simplier to display all results and now I am getting: Unable to display this Web Part. To troubleshoot the problem, open this Web page in a Microsoft SharePoint Foundation-compatible HTML editor such as Microsoft SharePoint Designer. • ELMAH - Filtering 404 Errors

  I am attempting to configure ELMAH to filter 404 errors and I am running into difficulties with the XML-provided filter rules in my Web.config file. I followed the tutorial here and here and added an <is-type binding="BaseException" type="System.IO.FileNotFoundException" /> declaration under my <test><or>... declaration, but that completely failed. When I tested it locally I stuck a breakpoint in protected void ErrorLog_Filtering() {} of the Global.asax found that the System.Web.HttpException that gets fired by ASP.NET for a 404 doesn't have a base type of System.IO.FileNotFound, but rather it is simply a System.Web.HttpException. Next I decided to try a <regex binding="BaseException.Message" pattern="The file '/[^']+' does not exist" /> in the hopes that any exception matching the pattern "The file '/foo.ext' does not exist" would get filtered, but that too having no effect. As a last resort I tried <is-type binding="BaseException" type="System.Exception" />, and even that is entirely disregarded. I'm inclined to think there's a configuration error with ELMAH, but I fail to see any. Am I missing something blatantly obvious? • Deploying WCF Tutorial App on IIS7: "The type could not be found"

  Hello, I've been trying to follow this tutorial for deploying a WCF sample to IIS . I can't get it to work. This is a hosted site, but I do have IIS Manager access to the server. However, in step 2 of the tutorial, I can't "create a new IIS application that is physically located in this application directory". I can't seem to find a menu item, context menu item, or what not to create a new application. I've been right-clicking everywhere like crazy and still can't figure out how to create a new app. I suppose that's probably the root issue, but I tried a few other things (described below) just in case that actually is not the issue. Here is a picture of what I see in IIS Manager, in case my words don't do it justice: This is "deployed" at http://test.com.cws1.my-hosting-panel.com/IISHostedCalcService/Service.svc . The error says: The type 'Microsoft.ServiceModel.Samples.CalculatorService', provided as the Service attribute value in the ServiceHost directive, or provided in the configuration element system.serviceModel/serviceHostingEnvironment/serviceActivations could not be found. I also tried to create a virtual dir (IISHostedCalc) in dotnetpanel that points to IISHostedCalcService . When I navigate to http://test.com.cws1.my-hosting-panel.com/IISHostedCalc/Service.svc , then there is a different error: This collection already contains an address with scheme http. There can be at most one address per scheme in this collection. Interestingly enough, if I click on View Applications, it seems like the virtual directory is an application (see image below)... although, as per the error message above, it doesn't work. This could also be caused by a mismatch of the security binding between the client and the server. The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a send. Authentication failed because the remote party has closed the transport stream. If the service is defined in the current solution, try building the solution and adding the service reference again. I think I'm missing some fundamental basics here. Do I need to set up some certificates? Or should it all just work as it seems to do when I use NetTcpBinding? Thanks

We recently decided to upgrade to GWT 2.0. We've already updated the eclipse project and we are able to successfully run the application in dev-mode. We are struggling to get the application built using maven though. I'm hoping somebody can tell me what I'm doing wrong here since I'm running out of time on this. • How do I get Visual Studio build process to pass condition to library(external) project

  I have tried several solutions for this problem. Enough to know I do not know enough about MSBuild to do this elegantly but I feel like there should be a method. I have a set of libraries for working with .net projects. A few of the projects utilize System.Web.Mvc - which recently released Version 2 - and we are looking forward to the upgrade. Currently sites which reference this library reference it directly by the project(csproj) on the developer's computer - not a built version of the library so that changes and source code case easily be viewed when dealing code from this library. This works quite well and would prefer to not have to switch to binary references (but will if this is the only solution). The problem I have is that because of some of the functionality that was added onto the MVC1 based library (view engines, model binders etc) several of the sites reliant on these libraries need to stay on MVC1 until we have full evaluated and tested them on MVC2. I would prefer to not have to fork or have two copies on each dev machine. • Maven webapp with maven-eclipse-plugin doesn't generate <dependent-module>

  I use the eclipse:eclipse goal to generate an Eclipse Project environment. The deployment works fine. The goal creates the var classpath entries for all needed dependencies. With m2eclipse there was the Maven Container which defines an export folder which was WEB-INF/lib for me. But i don't want to rely on m2eclipse so i don't use it anymore. the class path entries which are generated by eclipse:eclipse goal don't have such a export folder. While booting the servlet container with WTP it publishes all resources and classes except the libraries to the context. Whats missing to publish the needed libs, or isn't that possible without m2eclipse integration?   Hi everyone, Debugging my implementation I found a memory leak issue. I know where is the issue, I tried to solve it but sadly without success. I will try to explain you, maybe someone of you can help with this. First I have two classes involved in the issue, the publish class (where publishing the service and socket configuration is done) and the connection (where the socket binding and the streams configuration is done). The main issue is in the connection via native socket. In the 'publish' class the "server" accepts a connection with a callback. The callback has the native-socket information. Then, a connection with native-socket information is created. Next, the socket binding and the streams configuration is done. When those actions are successful the instance of the connection is saved in a mutable array. But when the callback-handler tries to use this connection the error occurs, it says that such connection is deallocated. The issue here is that I don't know where/when the connection is deallocated and how to know it.   I want to write a module (framework specific), that would wrap and extend Facebook PHP-sdk (https://github.com/facebook/php-sdk/). My problem is - how to organize classes, in a nice way. So getting into details - Facebook PHP-sdk consists of two classes: BaseFacebook - abstract class with all the stuff sdk does Facebook - extends BaseFacebook, and implements parent abstract persistance-related methods with default session usage Now I have some functionality to add: Facebook class substitution, integrated with framework session class shorthand methods, that run api calls, I use mostly (through BaseFacebook::api()), authorization methods, so i don't have to rewrite this logic every time, configuration, sucked up from framework classes, insted of passed as params caching, integrated with framework cache module I know something has gone very wrong, because I have too much inheritance that doesn't look very normal.Wrapping everything in one "complex extension" class also seems too much. I think I should have few working togheter classes - but i get into problems like: if cache class doesn't really extend and override BaseFacebook::api() method - shorthand and authentication classes won't be able to use the caching. Maybe some kind of a pattern would be right in here? How would you organize these classes and their dependencies? New instance of Facebook_Cache gives me all the functionality. Shorthand methods from Facebook_Custom use caching, because Facebook_Cache overwrited api() method. But here is what is bothering me: I think it's too much inheritance. It's all very tight coupled - like look how i had to specify 'Facebook_Custom::api' instead of 'parent:api', to avoid api() method loop on Facebook_Cache class extending. Overall mess and ugliness. So again, this works but I'm just asking about patterns / ways of doing this in a cleaner and smarter way.

• MSBUILD ClickOnce Error: Deployment and application do not have matching security zones

  We're trying to publish a ClickOnce application through msbuild. We've got it working fine for an installed version of the windows application. However, when we set install to false so that it just runs the app from the web we get the following error when we try to run the application from the URL: "Deployment and application do not have matching security zones" This works fine in IE. We only get the error message in Chrome and FireFox.   Hi, I tried to setup a simple project with spring and enunciate+jax-ws/jax-rs annotation, but I didn't get it work.
