  • How to organize Python modules for PyPI to support 2.x and 3.x

    I have a Python module that I would like to upload to PyPI. So far, it is working for Python 2.x. It shouldn't be too hard to write a version for 3.x now. But, after following guidelines for making modules in these places: Distributing Python Modules The Hitchhiker’s Guide to Packaging it's not clear to me how to support multiple source distributions for different versions of Python, and it's not clear if/how PyPI could support it. I envisage I would have separate code for: 2.x 2.6 (maybe, as a special case to use the new buffer API) 3.x How is it possible to set up a Python module in PyPI so that someone can do: easy_install modulename and it will install the right thing whether the user is using 2.x or 3.x?

    I am trying to write some code that will allow me to dynamically load DLLs into my application, depending on an application setting. The idea is that the database to be accessed is set in the application settings and then this loads the appropriate DLL and assigns it to an instance of an interface for my application to access. I just want to load the assembly and assign it to the SQLDataSource object. The above code just doesn't work. There are no exceptions thrown, even the Msgbox doesn't appear. I would've expected at least the messagebox appearing with nothing in it, but even this doesn't happen! Is there a way to determine if the loaded assembly implements a specific interface. I tried the below but this also doesn't seem to do anything! The actual DLL is in a different project called SQLServer in the same solution as my implementation code. CRDataSource is a namespace and SQLServer is the actual class name of the DLL. The SQLServer class implements ICRDataLayer, so I don't understand why it wouldn't be able to cast it. Is the naming significant here, I wouldn't have thought it would be.

    Hello: I'm using drscheme from: http://www.archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/drscheme/ I'm trying to work with the sample code in my textbook, but I keep getting getting "unbound identifier" errors. Is it because the scheme interpreter is not configured correctly? or is the code just plain wrong?   • The problem with installing PIL using virtualenv or buildout.

    When I install PIL using easy_install or buildout it installs in such way, that I must do 'import Image', not 'from PIL import Image'. However, if I do "apt-get install python-imaging" or use "pip -E test_pil install PIL", all work fine.   • Could not import Django settings into Google App Engine

    Hello all you Google App Engine experts, I have used Django a little before but am new to Google App Engine and am trying to use it's development web server with Django for the first time. I don't know if this is relevent but I previously had Django 1.1 and Python 2.6 on my Windows XP and even though I have uninstalled Python 2.6 there is still a folder and entries in the registry. I have followed the instructions from Google but when I browse to the GAE developemnt web server it cannot find my settings (details below). Any hints gratefully received.   • Unable to resolve class in build.gradle using Android Studio 0.60/Gradle 0.11

    Established app working fine using Android Studio 0.5.9/ Gradle 0.9 but upgrading to Android Studio 0.6.0/ Gradle 0.11 causes the error below. Somehow Studio seems to have lost the ability to resolve the android tools import at the top of the build.gradle file.   • Drupal JSON POST from PhoneGap

    I am trying to send a POST request to Drupal's Services module & JSON_Server module, however I am getting { "#error": true, "#data": "Invalid method " } Since PhoneGap runs html files from locally on the phone, should i need to worry about JSONP. The issue I have with that is that I must POST data, and JSONP only allows for GET. Any ideas would be helpful.     Hi Guys, I'm using a module in my python app that writes a lot a of messages using the logging module. Initially I was using this in a console application and it was pretty easy to get the logging output to display on the console using a console handler. Now I've developed a GUI version of my app using wxPython and I'd like to display all the logging output to a custom control — a multi-line textCtrl. Is there a way i could create a custom logging handler so i can redirect all the logging output there and display the logging messages wherever/however I want — in this case, a wxPython app. Thanks

  • How can I manipulate my Drupal blogs?

    Hi. I'm migrating a website from FrogCMS to Drupal. My questions are: How do you limit the list of recent blog entries (title and content) on the MAIN page and let it limit (to at least five) on the other page (i.e. List of Blogs page)? How do you place a 'read more' link for each blog and when viewed full, the 'read more' should not be displayed? Is there a way to remove the pagination without hacking node.module? I tried Nodequeue module but I am not sure on how to use it. I read the documentation and tried outputing <?php print nodequeue_node_titles($subqueue_id); ?> but had no luck at all. Check it here I need an answer ASAP. I need to finish this by tomorrow. Thanks!

    I just wanted to clarify my understanding of ASP .NET MVC (current version is 4). I was reading this article on How does ASP.NET MVC work? So, how does ASP.NET know how to route requests to MVC? The answer lies in web.config. There is a new http module added to modules collection in ASP.NET MVC projects So basically an mvc application is implemented as an HTTPModule or at least the url routing portion of an mvc app? Would it be possible for one to create and register a custom routing module and then possibly create their own micro mvc framework like Sinatra in Ruby or Slim in PHP?

  • MVC Authorize Attribute + HttpUnauthorizedResult + FormsAuthentication

    After browsing the MVC section on CodePlex I noticed that the [Authorize] attribute in MVC returns a HttpUnauthorizedResult() when authorization fails (codeplex AuthorizeAttribute class). In the source of HttpUnauthorizedResult() from CodePlex is the code (I'm not allowed to enter another URL as my rep isn't high enough, but replace the numbers on the URL above with 22929#266476): // 401 is the HTTP status code for unauthorized access - setting this // will cause the active authentication module to execute its default // unauthorized handler context.HttpContext.Response.StatusCode = 401; In particular, the comment describes the authentication module's default unauthorized handler. I can't seem to find any information on this default unauthorized handler. In particular, I'm not using FormsAuthentication and when authorization fails I get an ugly IIS 401 error page. Does anyone know about this default unauthorized handler, and in particular how FormsAuthentication hooks itself in to override it? I'm writing a really simple app for my football team who confirm or deny whether they can play a particular match. If I enable FormsAuthentication in the web.config the redirect works, but I'm not using FormsAuthentication and I'd like to know if there's a workaround.

  • Confluence or apache on win server 2008 cant find scripts and images :(

    I am a newbie to both Tomcat and Apache. I have set the virtual hosts as described in Here. And JIRA works fine when i browse the URL jira.agmlab.com. However when i try to access Confluence(3.4.5) with confluence.agmlab.com the pages come in plain html, i can login and browse pages but there is no css or js so that my confluence pages look very ugly. what can possibly cause this and how to fix this? here is my virtual hosts definitions : # # Virtual Hosts # # If you want to maintain multiple domains/hostnames on your # machine you can setup VirtualHost containers for them. Can it be something related with the permissions defined in Win Server 2008 ? maybe there is not enough rights (such as read execute ) in some users, directories ??

  • Mixed-mode C++/CLI crashing: heap corruption in atexit (static destructor registration)

    I am working on deploying a program and the codebase is a mixture of C++/CLI and C#. The C++/CLI comes in all flavors: native, mixed (/clr), and safe (/clr:safe). In my development environment I create a DLL of all the C++/CLI code and reference that from the C# code (EXE). This method works flawlessly. For my releases that I want to release a single executable (simply stating that "why not just have a DLL and EXE separate?" is not acceptable). So far I have succeeded in compiling the EXE with all the different sources. However, when I run it I get the "XXXX has stopped working" dialog with options to Check online, Close and Debug. If I tell Visual Studio to continue, the program starts up fine and seems to work without incident, probably since a debugger is now attached. What do you make of this? It seems that the CRT atexit function is responsible, being inadvertently required due to the static initializer. I have added a mixed C++/CLI file that has a C++ main or WinMain: using namespace System; [STAThread] // required if using an STA COM objects (such as drag-n-drop or file dialogs) int main() { // or "int __stdcall WinMain(void*, void*, wchar_t**, int)" for GUI applications array<String^> ^args_orig = Environment::GetCommandLineArgs(); int l = args_orig->Length - 1; // required to remove first argument (program name) array<String^> ^args = gcnew array<String^>(l); if (l > 0) Array::Copy(args_orig, 1, args, 0, l); return XXX::CUI::Program::Main(args); // return XXX::GUI::Program::Main(args); } After doing this, the program now gets a little further, but still has issues (which will be addressed elsewhere): When the program is solely in C# it works fine, along with whenever it is just calling C++/CLI methods, getting C++/CLI properties, and creating managed C++/CLI objects Events added by C# into the C++/CLI code never fire (even though they should) One other weird error is that an exception happens is a InvalidCastException saying can't cast from X to X (where X is the same as X...) However since the heap corruption is fixed (by getting the CRT initialized) the question is done.

'captcha' = MODPATH."kolanos-kohana-captcha ', )); But it does not work: (Whenever I want to use class Captcha kohana shows the error "class not found." I'm doing something wrong? Is this a problem with the module? There are some other modules to handle the captcha in Kohana 3+?

    I have a Python module that I would like to upload to PyPI. So far, it is working for Python 2.x. It shouldn't be too hard to write a version for 3.x now. But, after following guidelines for making modules in these places: Distributing Python Modules The Hitchhiker’s Guide to Packaging it's not clear to me how to support multiple source distributions for different versions of Python, and it's not clear if/how PyPI could support it. I envisage I would have separate code for: 2.x 2.6 (maybe, as a special case to use the new buffer API) 3.x How is it possible to set up a Python module in PyPI so that someone can do: easy_install modulename and it will install the right thing whether the user is using 2.x or 3.x?

Any idea why is this error coming? Actually first i created a Enterprise application and everything seemed to work fine. But then, i copied files from my enterprise application's ejb module to a separate module and since then these errors are coming. This is in my build-impl.xml :- <target depends="compile" name="library-inclusion-in-archive"> <copyfiles files="${libs.Log4J.classpath}" todir="${build.classes.dir}"/> </target> <target depends="compile" name="library-inclusion-in-manifest"> <copyfiles files="${libs.Log4J.classpath}" todir="${dist.ear.dir}/lib"/> <manifest file="${build.ear.classes.dir}/META-INF/MANIFEST.MF" mode="update"/> </target> Don't know why is this pointing to ear instead of jar. Is there any problem with the above statement? How do i resolve this? I am using Netbeans 6.8 Thanks in advance :)
