    Hi, I'm bit of a newbie and had a basic question regarding adhering to the MVC model in iPhone coding. How do I setup a Model class that holds my data and connect it to different controllers in the following setup: Using Interface Builder, I created a tab controller in which - Tab #1 has a Nav Controller and a hierarchy of View Controllers. - Tab #2 has a View Controller So with what I have now, the View Controller under Tab #1 alloc init's the model class and I know how to pass the model from one ViewController to the next in the Navigation Hierarchy where it can pass the data and/or be updated with new data. Question is how to pass it from Tab #1's View Controller to Tab #2 View Controller as there is no code linking the two??? Thanks in advance, Hiren.

  • Colorbox iFrame content not appearing in IE 8/9

    I'm using ColorBox to call a few informational modals on-screen and given the client's requirements, the best way to do this is via iFrames (not my first choice but whatever). Everything is working peachy in Chrome, FF, etc. but the iFrame content is not working in any version of IE. The modal wrapper appears but nothing is inside. This is what I've done so far: Changed the doctype to transitional and strict for IE. No dice. Removed the "iframe: true" and replaced it with HTML "Hello". That worked fine and "Hello" appeared in the Colorbox modal. I've removed all stylesheets from the header. No luck so it's not a CSS issue. Just to be sure, I rolled back my JQuery library to 1.6.2 from 1.8.2. Nothing there, either. Any help would be appreciated. This is aggravating.   • Where do you put non-controller classes in codeigniter?

    I've got a class Widgets. Widgets are made up of Doohickies. I'm never going to need to access Doohickies directly via url -- they're essentially a private class, only used by Widgets. Where do you put your code to define the Doohicky class? In /app/controllers/doohicky.php? in app/controllers/widget.php? somewhere else? Obviously, the former seems cleaner, but it's not obvious to me how to make the Doohicky class available to Widget.

  • XSL(like) declarative language as MVC view over strongtyped model?

    As a huge XSL fan, I am very happy to use xsl as the view in our proprietary MVC framework on ASP.NET. Objects in the model are serialized under the hood using .NET's xml serializer, and we use quite atomic xsl templates to declare how each object or property should transform. For example: <xsl:template match="/Article"> <html> <body> <div class="article"> <xsl:apply-templates /> </div> </body> </html> </xsl:template> <xsl:template match="Article/Title"> <h1> <xsl:apply-templates /> </h1> </xsl:template> <xsl:template match="@*|text()"> <xsl:copy /> </xsl:template> This mechanism allows us to quickly override default matching templates, like having a template matching on the last item in a list, or the selected one, etc. Also, xsl extension objects in .NET allow us just the bit of extra grip that we need. Common shared templates can be split up and included. However Even though I can ignore the verbosity downside of xsl (because Visual Studio schema intellisense + snippets really is slick, praise to the VS-team), the downside of not having intellisense over strongtyped objects in the model is really something that's bugging me. I've seen ASP.NET MVC + user controls in action and really starting to love it, but I wonder; Is there a way of getting some sort of intellisense over XML that we're iterating over, or do you know of a language that offers the freedom and declarativeness of XSL but has the strongtype/intellisense benefits of say webforms/usercontrols/asp.net.mvc-view? (I probably know the answer: "no", and I'll find myself using Phil Haack's utterly cool mvc shizzle soon...)

  • simplemodal click events stopped working in IE7

    Here's my code: $('#alertInfo').modal({ close :false, overlayId :'confirmModalOverlay', containerId :'confirmModalContainer', onShow : function(dialog) { dialog.data.find('.message').append(message); dialog.data.find('.yes').click(function(){ if ($.isFunction(callback)) callback.apply(); $.modal.close(); }); dialog.data.find('.close').click(function(){ $.modal.close(); }); } }); Basically, this is a dialogue box which I call to show a warning message that has a "X" button (with class 'close') and an "OK" button (with class 'yes'). The problem occurs in IE7. When I call this dialogue box and use my "X" button to close it everytime, my "X" button does not work anymore on the third time I call it (YES ON THE THIRD TIME!). However, if I use my "OK" button to close the dialogue box, it works fine no matter how many times I call it. I thought I found a workaround by unbinding and binding my click event of the '.close' class, as below: dialog.data.find('.close').unbind('click'); dialog.data.find('.close').bind('click',function(){$.modal.close();}); and it worked!!! unfortunately, however, the problem now occurs in my "OK" button. so, i did the same unbinding and binding the click event of the '.yes' class, as below: dialog.data.find('.yes').unbind('click'); dialog.data.find('.yes').bind('click', function() { if ($.isFunction(callback)) callback.apply(); $.modal.close(); }); BUT NOPE, IT DOES NOT WORK.. please help me.. @ericmmartin, i hope you're online now.. huhu..

  • How do I use Haml in a view in my new plugin?

    I'm creating a new plugin for a jruby on rails application that will eventually be turned into a gem. Inside my plugin I have controllers, helpers and views. For my views I'd like to use Haml. The problem is that I can't seem to get it to recognize that they are haml templates. Is it even possible to do this? Is there a way for a plugin to have Haml as a dependency for its view? And by that I mean, I intend for the plugin that I'm creating to have a view created by the plugin, that can be used by the application developer. for example: vendor/ plugins/ my_plugin/ lib/ app/ views/ my_plugin_demo/ index.haml.html controllers/ my_plugin_demo_controller.rb helpers/ In my plugin's init.rb, I tried: require 'my_plugin' require 'haml' #doesn't seem to make a difference :( but that didn't seem to make any difference. Has anybody had any experience with this? I can't seem to find any documentation on how to make this work. Are plugin views restricted to .erb templates?

    Hi, My application creates two views: topView (CGRect = 0,0, 320,60) bottomView (CGRect = 0,60, 320,480) Bottom view creates UITabBarController with UIViewControllers: ListViewController etc... ListViewController has own views that are created in viewDidLoad method: background = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithFrame: rect ]; So my question is how to get the bottomView rect inside ListViewController? I want to layout all controller views without intersection with topView. Thank you.

    I was looking at a sample of how to setup Unity IoC with MVC, and noticed someone who recommended the approach of having the parameters of Func.     I have a value called tags which is a comma separated list of words. I want to put this into nicely designed "tag-buttons". The below works.     Screenshot of the issue: here Webpage in Question: http://cure.org Offending browser: Internet Explorer 7 You'll notice from the screenshot, or if you view this site in IE7, that the background image is not displaying for the content div (#modal-inner-content). Strangely, the image displays in the other divs where it is used (since it's a sprite, I'm using that same image for #modal-top-border and #modal-btm-border). In all other browsers it displays properly, and even in IE8. I cannot seem to find what CSS rule (or lack thereof) I may be using that IE7 is choking on. NOTE: in order to get the modal screen, just click the link at the very top banner of the page that says "login to your CURE account

  • Javascript + IFrame + Chrome + Https = strange issue

    Using a modal plugin for jquery, I'm opening an iframe in a modal with a click event and setting the source attribute to a relative url (should be within https). The page containing the click is an authenticated ssl page. In IE and Safari, this works as expected. In Chrome and Firefox, the source url is opened in http not https. If I set the source to an absolute url using https, same result.
