  • Ubuntu Audio Pitch Shifting filter

    I'm currently developing a video player software which intended to be an embeedded player. I'm using Java with VLCJ library for the video player. What i'm looking is a way, something to transform the audio output to make the output sound as oldman or a kid (pitch shifting, i guess is the name). VLC have this when enabling time stretch, but the video play speed is affected (slower to get oldman sound, but fast-forward-alike to get kid voice effect. Is there any solutions for this? I don't find this feature on VLC(J), so i think what i need is the audio output of the ubuntu itself (Ubuntu 12.04) to do this job. something like filtering audio output system wide. Any software or setting to do this? it also need to be controllable via command line to provide realtime effect changing. Thanks in advance.

  • How to manage a lot of Action Listeners for multiple buttons

    I have this Tic Tac Toe game and I thought of this really cool way to draw out the grid of 9 little boxes. I was thinking of putting buttons in each of those boxes. How should I give each button (9 buttons in total) an ActionListener that draws either an X or O? Should they each have their own, or should I do some sort of code that detects turns in this? Could I even do a JButton Array and do some for loops to put 9 buttons. So many possibilities, but which one is the most proper? What should I do when admin/editor clicks on Delete user link? Should I redirect him to new yes/no confirmation page or display some jquery popup window? Should I then redirect him to the home page and display message The user has been successfully deleted from the system, or simple redirection should be just fine?

  • Typesafe fire-and-forget asynchronous delegate invocation in C#

    I recently found myself needing a typesafe "fire-and-forget" mechanism for running code asynchronously. Ideally, what I would want to do is something like: var myAction = (Action)(() => Console.WriteLine("yada yada")); myAction.FireAndForget(); // async invocation Unfortunately, the obvious choice of calling BeginInvoke() without a corresponding EndInvoke() does not work - it results in a slow resource leak (since the asyn state is held by the runtime and never released ... it's expecting an eventual call to EndInvoke(). I also can't run the code on the .NET thread pool because it may take a very long time to complete (it's advised to only run relatively short-lived code on the thread pool) - this makes it impossible to use the ThreadPool.QueueUserWorkItem(). Initially, I only needed this behavior for methods whose signature matches Action, Action<...>, or Func<...>. So I put together a set of extension methods (see listing below) that let me do this without running into the resource leak. There are overloads for each version of Action/Func. Unfortunately, I now want to port this code to .NET 4 where the number of generic parameters on Action and Func have been increased substantially. Before I write a T4 script to generate these, I was also hoping to find a simpler more elegant way to do this. If I comment out the TCircle loop, then I get a similar error about TSquare. If I comment the TSquare loop out as well, the code compiles and works. Well, it works in the sense that it enumerates every object since they all descend from TShape. The strange thing is that the line number that the compiler indicates is 2 lines beyond the end of my file. In my demo project, it indicated line 177, but there's only 175 lines. Is there any way to make this work? I'd like to be able to assign to Circle directly without going through any typecasts or checking in my for loop itself.

  • Changing a form's action attribute in IE?

    Hey. I'm trying to set a hash value in a form's action, to keep it when the form is submitted. Firefox allows me to update the hash and redirects accordingly, but IE doesn't. I initially thought this was related to IE not allowing hash values in the action attribute at all, but it seems I can't dynamically set the action at all in IE - with a hash or not? Is that right? I'm using the following jQuery: $("#options-form").attr('action', '#' + hash); To update: <form id="options-form" action="" method="get"> (On a sidenote, this wasn't needed in Firefox, because FF appears to preserve the current hash if it was only the GET params that changed.)

    I'm trying to create a fetch predicate that is the analog to the SQL "IN" statement, and the syntax to do so with NSPredicate escapes me. I have a list of names (just NSString objects) in an NSArray as returned by: [RPBodyPartCategory defaultBodyPartCategoryNames] So let's say that array has string such as {@"Liver", @"Kidney", @"Thyroid"} ... etc. I want to fetch all 'BodyPartCategory' instances whose name attribute matches one of the strings in the set provided (technically NSArray but I can make it an NSSet). In SQL, this would be something like: SELECT * FROM BodyPartCategories WHERE name IN ('Liver', 'Kidney', 'Thyroid') I've gone through various portions of the Predicate Programming Guide, but I don't see this simple use case covered. Pointers/help much appreciated!

    I'm trying to write a test for an UrlHelper extensionmethod that is used like this: Url.Action<TestController>(x => x.TestAction()); However, I can't seem set it up correctly so that I can create a new UrlHelper and then assert that the returned url was the expected one. This is what I've got but I'm open to anything that does not involve mocking as well. ;O) [Test] public void Should_return_Test_slash_TestAction() { // Arrange RouteTable.Routes.Add("TestRoute", new Route("{controller}/{action}", new MvcRouteHandler())); var mocks = new MockRepository(); var context = mocks.FakeHttpContext(); // the extension from hanselman var helper = new UrlHelper(new RequestContext(context, new RouteData()), RouteTable.Routes); // Act var result = helper.Action<TestController>(x => x.TestAction()); // Assert Assert.That(result, Is.EqualTo("Test/TestAction")); } I tried changing it to urlHelper.Action("Test", "TestAction") but it will fail anyway so I know it is not my extensionmethod that is not working. NUnit returns: NUnit.Framework.AssertionException: Expected string length 15 but was 0. Strings differ at index 0. Expected: "Test/TestAction" But was: <string.Empty> I have verified that the route is registered and working and I am using Hanselmans extension for creating a fake HttpContext.   • Redirect to another action in an interceptor in struts 2

    I am currently in the process of learning Struts 2 and I am currently building a simple application where unverified users are redirected to a login form. I have a login form and action functional which takes the users credentials, verifies them and stores a User object in the session however I am now trying to prevent access to pages before the login has taken place and I am trying to do this with an interceptor.     Hi, guys. With my understading, the nature of a Action is that properties can be pushed w/ request parameter values. And, one wonderful feature is that Struts2 allows you to directly populate parameter values against Class type property ;) Assuming there exists a Action and property class as below, class Action extends ActionSupport { User user; @Action(value="hello" {@result=(.......)}) public void execute() { ........ } ..... public void setUser(User user) { this.user = user; } public User getUser() { return this.user; } } class User { String name; ..... public void setName(String name) { this.name = name; } public String getName() { return this.name; } } you could populate User class property by doing like this. http://...../hello.action?user.name=John or via jsp page Then, I realize that there are actually people make an Action property as a Interface type. My question is what is the reason behind this. If there is a sample code demonstrating it will be great. Thanks in advance!

    I am using the Connection Manager Administration Kit (CMAK) to create vpn connections for my users, if it is possible how do I create a custom action that launches an executable that runs synchronously? In the help file it says Only DLLs run synchronously, meaning that Connection Manager starts the action and then waits for the function to return before continuing Is there any way around this? I have seen something similar called VPN-Q which from the screen shots appear to do just that.

    I'm trying to find away to create an automator action that puts photos into iPhoto but also adds the hidden tag to them. I've started with the folder action template because I'd like to save the files there and have automator kick off a series of steps that ends with the original image being hidden once I've had the enhancement, re-size, etc steps fire off. The only step I can't figure out is applying the hidden image attribute.
