    I'm loading a rather large swf as style with the following command: StyleManager.loadStyleDeclarations("assets/modules/"style.swf",true,false,ApplicationDomain.currentDomain); The style is loaded fine but now I would like to add a progress bar to it, but I do not know how to do so.   • buttons in a datagrid in flex

    Hi All, i am using a data grid in flex and i am generating data from a mysql server. However, my problem is with adding a button within the datagrid so each row has one. i have set the columns itemRenderer to mx.controls.Button although with the buttons shown in the grid there is no label on them (even though one has been set) and the assigned click event does not trigger when hitting the button. anyone have any ideas or guidance on what i am doing wrong.   • Uploading images from Flex to Rails using Paperclip

    Hi everyone, I'm looking for a way to upload images that were created in my flex app to rails. I've tried to use paperclip, but it don't seem to work. I've got this tutorial here: http://blog.alexonrails.net/?p=218 The problem is, that they are using a FileReference to browse for files on the clients computer. They call the .upload(...) function and send the data to the upload controller.   • TypeError: Error #1007: Instantiation attempted on a non-constructor. on port to Flex 4

    I have been porting an app from Flex 3.4.x to 4.0.. I have successfully ported the app and its libraries to flex 4.0, I've also removed ALL the references to http://www.adobe.com/2006/flex/mx in any of my mxml files... In short I "think" I have moved everything over to the new mx framework (2009).. But I still get the following error (which never happend in 3.4 or 3.5 with this same app) when I try to run my flex app. TypeError: Error #1007: Instantiation attempted on a non-constructor. at mx.preloaders::Preloader/initialize()[E:\dev\4.0.0\frameworks\projects\framework\src\mx\preloaders\Preloader.as:253] at mx.managers::SystemManager/http://www.adobe.com/2006/flex/mx/internal::initialize()[E:\dev\4.0.0\frameworks\projects\framework\src\mx\managers\SystemManager.as:1925] at mx.managers::SystemManager/initHandler()[E:\dev\4.0.0\frameworks\projects\framework\src\mx\managers\SystemManager.as:2419] At this point I am completely stumped.. anyone have any ideas?     Hi, all! I try to create a DataGrid in flex which can fit its content. The itemEdit is a TextArea that can auto change its height while inputing. I set variableRowHeight="true" and wordWrap="true". Although The TextArea will auto resize but the height of row is not changed. Could anyone tell me how to change row height of DataGrid while inputing? One way I found is auto commit its text to DataGrid so the DataGrid will know the data changes but which function can commit its data? Thank you!

  • Change webserver used by Flex in FlexBuilder to .NET Framework 3.5

    I just had to reformat and reinstall Flex and reconstruct a project. The problem is i am using ASP.NET as my server side technology and using LINQ in my files. The version of WebDev.Webserver.exe that FlexBuilder starts up is the wrong version so I get this error : Compiler Error Message: CS0234: The type or namespace name 'Linq' does not exist in the namespace 'System' (are you missing an assembly reference?) Microsoft (R) Visual C# 2005 Compiler version 8.00.50727.3053 for Microsoft (R) Windows (R) 2005 Framework version 2.0.50727 Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation 2001-2005. All rights reserved. I know that changing to the latest version of ASP.NET / Framework will fix this - but I just can't figure out HOW to make that change in Flexbuilder. I cant even remember if i ever successfully did it before or if I just created a virtual directory in IIS7. Where would I change the version?

    Context: I am implementing a flex auto-suggest combobox - as the user types in each character: Consider the string 'Stackoverflow' and user input = 'st' 1) the data provider is filtered to show all items starting with 'st' 2) text is set to auto-suggest string such that the un-typed part is highlighted. So for instance, the combobox text may contain st'ackoverflow', where 'ackoverflow' is highlighted using setSelectedIndex() Issue: When I hit back-space or delete, and check the 'this.text' value, I expect that the last un-highlighted character ('t' in the above case) gets deleted and the data provider is filtered to show all items starting with 's'. However the text property contains 'st', as before Question: what am I missing? What else can I try out?

    Hi, I've created a linechart in flex using pure as3. I need now to convert it to a dynamic multi axis chart. What I mean by dynamic, is that I can programmatically add or remove axisrenderers from the verticalaxisrenderer array at runtime. It seems i can remove axisrenderers at runtime by simply doing this: verticalAxisRenderers = verticalAxisRenderers.splice(index,1); However, ADDING axisrenderers is not working. I am doing it by so: verticalAxisRenderers.push(ar2); verticalAxisRenderers = verticalAxisRenderers; Where am I going wrong? Please help! Thanks, Tone
