  • FLTK in Cygwin using Eclipse (Linking errors)

    - by qpingu
I have this assignment due that requires the usage of FLTK. The code is given to us and it should compile straight off of the bat, but I am having linking errors and do not know which other libraries I need to include. I currently have "opengl32", "fltk_gl", "glu32", and "fltk" included (-l), each of which seem to reduce the number of errors. I compiled FLTK using make with no specified options. Including all of the produced library files doesn't fix the problem, and I'm convinced that it's just some Windows specific problem. Compile log: **** Build of configuration Debug for project CG5 **** make all Building target: CG5.exe Invoking: Cygwin C++ Linker g++ -o"CG5.exe" ./src/draw_routines.o ./src/gl_window.o ./src/my_shapes.o ./src/shape.o ./src/shapes_ui.o ./src/tesselation.o -lopengl32 -lfltk_z -lfltk_gl -lglu32 -lfltk /usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-cygwin/3.4.4/../../../libfltk_gl.a(Fl_Gl_Window.o):Fl_Gl_Window.cxx:(.text+0x197): undefined reference to `_SelectPalette@12' /usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-cygwin/3.4.4/../../../libfltk_gl.a(Fl_Gl_Window.o):Fl_Gl_Window.cxx:(.text+0x1a7): undefined reference to `_RealizePalette@4' /usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-cygwin/3.4.4/../../../libfltk_gl.a(Fl_Gl_Window.o):Fl_Gl_Window.cxx:(.text+0x1fe): undefined reference to `_glDrawBuffer@4' /usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-cygwin/3.4.4/../../../libfltk_gl.a(Fl_Gl_Window.o):Fl_Gl_Window.cxx:(.text+0x20d): undefined reference to `_glReadBuffer@4' /usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-cygwin/3.4.4/../../../libfltk_gl.a(Fl_Gl_Window.o):Fl_Gl_Window.cxx:(.text+0x23a): undefined reference to `_glGetIntegerv@8' /usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-cygwin/3.4.4/../../../libfltk_gl.a(Fl_Gl_Window.o):Fl_Gl_Window.cxx:(.text+0x2c3): undefined reference to `_glOrtho@48' /usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-cygwin/3.4.4/../../../libfltk_gl.a(Fl_Gl_Window.o):Fl_Gl_Window.cxx:(.text+0x2f3): undefined reference to `_SwapBuffers@4' ...and lots more Thanks a ton for the help. EDIT: These first few lines are obviously OpenGL related, although I'm still not sure what additional libraries need to be included.

  • Behavior of local variables in JavaScripts with()-statement

    - by thr
I noticed some weird (and to my knowledge undefined behavior, by the ECMA 3.0 Spec at least), take the following snippet: var foo = { bar: "1", baz: "2" }; alert(bar); with(foo) { alert(bar); alert(bar); } alert(bar); It crashes in both Firefox and Chrome, because "bar" doesn't exist in the first alert(); statement, this is as expected. But if you add a declaration of bar inside the with()-statement, so it looks like this: var foo = { bar: "1", baz: "2" }; alert(bar); with(foo) { alert(bar); var bar = "g2"; alert(bar); } alert(bar); It will produce the following: undefined, 1, g2, undefined It seems as if you create a variable inside a with()-statement most browsers (tested on Chrome or Firefox) will make that variable exist outside that scope also, it's just set to undefined. Now from my perspective bar should only exist inside the with()-statement, and if you make the example even weirder: var foo = { bar: "1", baz: "2" }; var zoo; alert(bar); with(foo) { alert(bar); var bar = "g2"; zoo = function() { return bar; } alert(bar); } alert(bar); alert(zoo()); It will produce this: undefined, 1, g2, undefined, g2 So the bar inside the with()-statement does not exist outside of it, yet the runtime somehow "automagically" creates a variable named bar that is undefined in its top level scope (global or function) but this variable does not refer to the same one as inside the with()-statement, and that variable will only exist if a with()-statement has a variable named bar that is defined inside it. Very weird, and inconsistent. Anyone have an explanation for this behavior? There is nothing in the ECMA Spec about this.

Well anyways I got most of it from here, however I get an error on line 67 saying "TypeError: 'undefined' is not a function.". I'm using Steroids (phonegap-like) and testing dis on an iPhone simulator. I'm sure it uses some cordova for the database work. Thank you for your help :-)

  • Is it Pythonic to have a class keep track of its instances?

    - by Lightbreeze
Take the following code snippet class Missile: instances = [] def __init__(self): Missile.instances.append(self) Now take the code: class Hero(): ... def fire(self): Missile() When the hero fires, a missile needs to be created and appended to the main list. Thus the hero object needs to reference the list when it fires. Here are a few solutions, although I'm sure there are others: Make the list a global, Use a class variable (as above), or Have the hero object hold a reference to the list. I didn't post this on gamedev because my question is actually more general: Is the previous code considered okay? Given a situation like this, is there a more Pythonic solution?

  • Using libgrib2c in c++ application, linker error "Undefined reference to..."

    - by Rich
EDIT: If you're going to be doing things with GRIB files I would recommend the GDAL library which is backed by the Open Source Geospatial Foundation. You will save yourself a lot of headache :) I'm using Qt creator in Ubuntu creating a c++ app. I am attempting to use an external lib, libgrib2c.a, that has a header grib2.h. Everything compiles, but when it tries to link I get the error: undefined reference to 'seekgb(_IO_FILE*, long, long, long*, long*) I have tried wrapping the header file with: extern "C"{ #include "grib2.h" } But it didn't fix anything so I figured that was not my problem. In the .pro file I have the line: include($${ROOT}/Shared/common/commonLibs.pri) and in commonLibs.pri I have: INCLUDEPATH+=$${ROOT}/external_libs/g2clib/include LIBS+=-L$${ROOT}/external_libs/g2clib/lib LIBS+=-lgrib2c I am not encountering an error finding the library. If I do a nm command on the libgrib2c.a I get: nm libgrib2c.a | grep seekgb seekgb.o: 00000000 T seekgb And when I run qmake with the additional argument of LIBS+=-Wl,--verbose I can find the lib file in the output: attempt to open /usr/lib/libgrib2c.so failed attempt to open /usr/lib/libgrib2c.a failed attempt to open /mnt/sdb1/ESMF/App/ESMF_App/../external_libs/linux/qwt_6.0.2/lib/libgrib2c.so failed attempt to open /mnt/sdb1/ESMF/App/ESMF_App/../external_libs/linux/qwt_6.0.2/lib/libgrib2c.a failed attempt to open ..//Shared/Config/lib/libgrib2c.so failed attempt to open ..//Shared/Config/lib/libgrib2c.a failed attempt to open ..//external_libs/libssh2/lib/libgrib2c.so failed attempt to open ..//external_libs/libssh2/lib/libgrib2c.a failed attempt to open ..//external_libs/openssl/lib/libgrib2c.so failed attempt to open ..//external_libs/openssl/lib/libgrib2c.a failed attempt to open ..//external_libs/g2clib/lib/libgrib2c.so failed attempt to open ..//external_libs/g2clib/lib/libgrib2c.a succeeded Although it doesn't show any of the .o files in the library is this because it is a c library in my c++ app? in the .cpp file that I am trying to use the library I have: #include "gribreader.h" #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include <external_libs/g2clib/include/grib2.h> #include <Shared/logging/Logger.hpp> //------------------------------------------------------------------------------ /// Opens a GRIB file from disk. /// /// This function opens the grib file and searches through it for how many GRIB /// messages are contained as well as their starting locations. /// /// \param a_filePath. Usually I'm able to find an answer in the vast stores of knowledge already contained on the web.

  • Parent variable inheritance methods Unity3D/C#

    - by Timothy Williams
I'm creating a system where there is a base "Hero" class and each hero inherits from that with their own stats and abilities. What I'm wondering is, how could I call a variable from one of the child scripts in the parent script (something like maxMP = MP) or call a function in a parent class that is specified in each child class (in the parent update is alarms() in the child classes alarms() is specified to do something.) Is this possible at all? Or not? Thanks.

  • Is there a C pre-processor which eliminates #ifdef blocks based on values defined/undefined?

    - by Jonathan Leffler
Original Question What I'd like is not a standard C pre-processor, but a variation on it which would accept from somewhere - probably the command line via -DNAME1 and -UNAME2 options - a specification of which macros are defined, and would then eliminate dead code. It may be easier to understand what I'm after with some examples: #ifdef NAME1 #define ALBUQUERQUE "ambidextrous" #else #define PHANTASMAGORIA "ghostly" #endif If the command were run with '-DNAME1', the output would be: #define ALBUQUERQUE "ambidextrous" If the command were run with '-UNAME1', the output would be: #define PHANTASMAGORIA "ghostly" If the command were run with neither option, the output would be the same as the input. This is a simple case - I'd be hoping that the code could handle more complex cases too. To illustrate with a real-world but still simple example: #ifdef USE_VOID #ifdef PLATFORM1 #define VOID void #else #undef VOID typedef void VOID; #endif /* PLATFORM1 */ typedef void * VOIDPTR; #else typedef mint VOID; typedef char * VOIDPTR; #endif /* USE_VOID */ I'd like to run the command with -DUSE_VOID -UPLATFORM1 and get the output: #undef VOID typedef void VOID; typedef void * VOIDPTR; Another example: #ifndef DOUBLEPAD #if (defined NT) || (defined OLDUNIX) #define DOUBLEPAD 8 #else #define DOUBLEPAD 0 #endif /* NT */ #endif /* !DOUBLEPAD */ Ideally, I'd like to run with -UOLDUNIX and get the output: #ifndef DOUBLEPAD #if (defined NT) #define DOUBLEPAD 8 #else #define DOUBLEPAD 0 #endif /* NT */ #endif /* !DOUBLEPAD */ This may be pushing my luck! Motivation: large, ancient code base with lots of conditional code. Many of the conditions no longer apply - the OLDUNIX platform, for example, is no longer made and no longer supported, so there is no need to have references to it in the code. Other conditions are always true. For example, features are added with conditional compilation so that a single version of the code can be used for both older versions of the software where the feature is not available and newer versions where it is available (more or less). Eventually, the old versions without the feature are no longer supported - everything uses the feature - so the condition on whether the feature is present or not should be removed, and the 'when feature is absent' code should be removed too. I'd like to have a tool to do the job automatically because it will be faster and more reliable than doing it manually (which is rather critical when the code base includes 21,500 source files). (A really clever version of the tool might read #include'd files to determine whether the control macros - those specified by -D or -U on the command line - are defined in those files. I'm not sure whether that's truly helpful except as a backup diagnostic. Whatever else it does, though, the pseudo-pre-processor must not expand macros or include files verbatim. The output must be source similar to, but usually simpler than, the input code.) Status Report (one year later) After a year of use, I am very happy with 'sunifdef' recommended by the selected answer. It hasn't made a mistake yet, and I don't expect it to. The only quibble I have with it is stylistic. Given an input such as: #if (defined(A) && defined(B)) || defined(C) || (defined(D) && defined(E)) and run with '-UC' (C is never defined), the output is: #if defined(A) && defined(B) || defined(D) && defined(E) This is technically correct because '&&' binds tighter than '||', but it is an open invitation to confusion. I would much prefer it to include parentheses around the sets of '&&' conditions, as in the original: #if (defined(A) && defined(B)) || (defined(D) && defined(E)) However, given the obscurity of some of the code I have to work with, for that to be the biggest nit-pick is a strong compliment; it is valuable tool to me. The New Kid on the Block Having checked the URL for inclusion in the information above, I see that (as predicted) there is an new program called Coan that is the successor to 'sunifdef'. It is available on SourceForge and has been since January 2010. I'll be checking it out...further reports later this year, or maybe next year, or sometime, or never.

  • How to position an element next to another an element of undefined position?

    - by allin
Hi, I am very new to html/xml/css and I'm trying my best to teach myself. However, I have run into a problem that a Google search could not solve. I would like to position a small image in a fixed location relative to another element(?) I believe this is the code of the element i want to position the second element relative to. #wrap { width:550px; background-color:#fff; margin:0 auto; padding:0; border-right:1px solid #ccc; border-left:1px solid #ccc; } #container { width: 500px; margin:0 auto; padding: 25px; font-size:.85em; background-color: #fff; } and this is partial code I'm trying to edit to position .xyz to the right of "#wrap" .xyz { position: ???; top: 200px; right: ???; _position: ???; _margin: ???; _text-align: right; z-index: 1337; } my search of SOF has lead me to believe i'm supposed to do something along the lines of this - http://stackoverflow.com/questions/104953/position-an-html-element-relative-to-its-container-using-css - but i haven't been able to. I greatly appreciate any help you may offer. Hopefully I've explained my problem properly.

  • Handles Comparison: empty classes vs. undefined classes vs. void*

    - by Nawaz
Microsoft's GDI+ defines many empty classes to be treated as handles internally. For example, (source GdiPlusGpStubs.h) //Approach 1 class GpGraphics {}; class GpBrush {}; class GpTexture : public GpBrush {}; class GpSolidFill : public GpBrush {}; class GpLineGradient : public GpBrush {}; class GpPathGradient : public GpBrush {}; class GpHatch : public GpBrush {}; class GpPen {}; class GpCustomLineCap {}; There are other two ways to define handles. They're, //Approach 2 class BOOK; //no need to define it! typedef BOOK *PBOOK; typedef PBOOK HBOOK; //handle to be used internally //Approach 3 typedef void* PVOID; typedef PVOID HBOOK; //handle to be used internally I just want to know the advantages and disadvantages of each of these approaches. One advantage with Microsoft's approach is that, they can define type-safe hierarchy of handles using empty classes, which (I think) is not possible with the other two approaches. What else? EDIT: One advantage with the second approach (i.e using incomplete classes) is that we can prevent clients from dereferencing the handles (that means, this approach appears to support encapsulation strongly, I suppose). The code would not even compile if one attempts to dereference handles. What else?

  • How do I keep a count of undefined strings within a loop using PHP?

I'm using a loop within a loop to try to generate keyword combinations and also find the ones that have been used the most. My outside loop just queries a list of keywords (lets use "chicago" as our first keyword, 3 records were found). The inside loop finds all the records in the "posts" table where keyword = "chicago". Within this loop, I need to generate strings based on info I found in the database. Which, would look something like "chicago bulls", "chicago bears", "chicago cubs" etc... I know how to do everything up until this point, but how do I temporary hold these generated strings and count how many times they have been found within the 3 records?

  • Force an array to recalcuate length after sort

    - by Rhyono
    If you take an array and do the following: arr = []; arr[100] = 1; The length will be 101, which makes sense due to 0-99 being set as undefined Now if we sort that array: arr.sort() it will look like this: [1, undefined x100] since keys are not preserved. However, the length is still 101, since the undefined have all been moved to the end, instead of removed. Is this behavior intentional and if so: is there a built-in function that removes undefined and recalculates and why is it intentional? I am not asking how to write my own function to recalculate length. A sorted array's length can easily be forced with for (x = 0; arr[x] != undefined; x++);arr.length = x;

  • Developer’s Life – Summary of Superhero Articles

    - by Pinal Dave
Earlier this year, I wrote an article series where I talked about developer’s life and compared it with Superhero. I have got amazing response to this series and I have been receiving quite a lots of email suggesting that I should write more blog post about them. Currently I am not planning to write more blog post but I will soon continue another series. In this blog post, I have summarized the entire series. Let me know if you want me to write about any superhero. I will see what I can do about that hero. Developer’s Life – Every Developer is a Captain America Captain America was first created as a comic book character in the 1940’s as a way to boost morale during World War II.  Aimed at a children’s audience, his legacy faded away when the war ended.  However, he has recently has a major reboot to become a popular movie character that deals with modern issues. Developer’s Life – Every Developer is the Incredible Hulk The Incredible Hulk is possibly one of the scariest superheroes out there.  All superheroes are meant to be “out of this world” and awe-inspiring, but I think most people will agree with I say The Hulk takes this to the next level.  He is the result of an industrial accident, which is scary enough in it’s own right.  Plus, when mild-mannered Bruce Banner is angered, he goes completely out-of-control and transforms into a destructive monster that he cannot control and has no memories of. Developer’s Life – Every Developer is a Wonder Woman We have focused a lot lately on this “superhero series.”  I love fantasy books and movies, and I feel like there is a lot to be learned from them.  As I am writing this series, though, I have noticed that every super hero I write about is a man.  So today, I would like to talk about the major female super hero – Wonder Woman. Developer’s Life – Every Developer is a Harry Potter Harry Potter might not be a superhero in the traditional sense, but I believe he still has a lot to teach us and show us about life as a developer.  If you have been living under a rock for the last 17 years, you might not know that Harry Potter is the main character in an extremely popular series of books and movies documenting the education and tribulation of a young wizard (and his friends). Developer’s Life – Every Developer is Like Transformers Transformers may not be superheroes – they don’t wear capes, they don’t have amazing powers outside of their size and folding ability, they’re not even human (technically).  Part of their enduring popularity is that while we are enjoying over-the-top movies, we are learning about good leadership and strong personal skills. Developer’s Life – Every Developer is a Iron Man Iron Man is another superhero who is not naturally “super,” but relies on his brain (and money) to turn him into a fighting machine.  While traditional superheroes are still popular, a three-movie franchise and incorporation into the new Avengers series shows that Iron Man is popular enough on his own. Developer’s Life – Every Developer is a Sherlock Holmes I have been thinking a lot about how developers are like super heroes, and I have written two blog posts now comparing them to Spiderman and Superman.  I have a lot of love and respect for developers, and I hope that they are enjoying these articles, and others are learning a little bit about the profession.  There is another fictional character who, while not technically asuper hero, is very powerful, and I also think stands as a good example of a developer. That character is Sherlock Holmes.  Sherlock Holmes is a British detective, first made popular at the turn of the 19thcentury by author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.  The original Sherlock Holmes was a brilliant detective who could solve the most mind-boggling crime through simple observations and deduction. Developer’s Life – Every Developer is a Chhota Bheem Chhota Bheem is a cartoon character that is extremely popular where I live.  He is my daughter’s favorite characters.  I like to say that children love Chhota Bheem more than their parents – it is lucky for us he is not real!  Children love Chhota Bheem because he is the absolute “good guy.”  He is smart, loyal, and strong.  He and his friends live in Dholakpur and fight off their many enemies – and always win – in every episode.  In each episode, they learn something about friendship, bravery, and being kind to others.  Chhota Bheem is a good role model for children, and I think that he is a good role model for developers are well. Developer’s Life – Every Developer is a Batman Batman is one of the darkest superheroes in the fantasy canon.  He does not come to his powers through any sort of magical coincidence or radioactive insect, but through a lot of psychological scarring caused by witnessing the death of his parents.  Despite his dark back story, he possesses a lot of admirable abilities that I feel bear comparison to developers. Developer’s Life – Every Developer is a Superman I enjoyed comparing developers to Spiderman so much, that I have decided to continue the trend and encourage some of my favorite people (developers) with another favorite superhero – Superman.  Superman is probably the most famous superhero – and one of the most inspiring. Developer’s Life – Every Developer is a Spiderman I have to admit, Spiderman is my favorite superhero.  The most recent movie recently was released in theaters, so it has been at the front of my mind for some time. Spiderman was my favorite superhero even before the latest movie came out, but of course I took my whole family to see the movie as soon as I could!  Every one of us loved it, including my daughter.  We all left the movie thinking how great it would be to be Spiderman.  So, with that in mind, I started thinking about how we are like Spiderman in our everyday lives, especially developers. I would like to know which Superhero is your favorite hero! The newGame, startLevel, and update functions should be your // first priority since they're all involved in displaying the initial state // of the game board. // // Next, work on putting together the control panel for the game so that you // can begin to interact with it. Your next goal should be to get the move // function working so that everything else can be testable. Note that all nine // of the movement buttons (including the pass button) should call the move // function when they are clicked, just with different parameters. // // All the remaining functions can be completed in pretty much any order, and // you'll see the game gradually improve as you write the functions. // // Just remember to keep your cool when writing this program. There are a // bunch of functions to write, but as long as you stay focused on the function // you're writing, each individual part is not that hard. // These variables specify the number of rows and columns in the game board. // Use these variables instead of hard coding the number of rows and columns // in your loops, etc. // i.e. Write: // for(i = 0; i < NUM_ROWS; i++) ... // not: // for(i = 0; i < 15; i++) ... var NUM_ROWS = 15; var NUM_COLS = 25; // Scene is arguably the most important variable in this whole program. • Trouble linking libboost libraries to compile sslsniff on RHEL

    Trying to build sslsniff on a RHEL 5.2 system here. When compiling sslsniff on RHEL I hit the same errors when using libboost packages (from repositories like rpmforge) and compiling libboost from source (which appeared to be successful.) Most of them appear related to boost::system so I added -lboost_system to the linker command and got farther: # g++ -ggdb -g -O2 -lssl -lboost_filesystem -lpthread -lboost_thread -llog4cpp -o sslsniff SSLConnectionManager.o FirefoxUpdater.o Logger.o SessionCache.o SSLBridge.o HTTPSBridge.o sslsniff.o FingerprintManager.o AuthorityCertificateManager.o TargetedCertificateManager.o CertificateManager.o HttpBridge.o HttpConnectionManager.o HttpHeaders.o UpdateManager.o OCSPDenier.o FirefoxAddonUpdater.o -lboost_system SSLConnectionManager.o: In function `thread<boost::_bi::bind_t<void, boost::_mfi::mf3<void, SSLConnectionManager, boost::shared_ptr<boost::asio::basic_stream_socket<boost::asio::ip::tcp, boost::asio::stream_socket_service<boost::asio::ip::tcp> > >, boost::asio::ip::basic_endpoint<boost::asio::ip::tcp>, bool>, boost::_bi::list4<boost::_bi::value<SSLConnectionManager*>, boost::_bi::value<boost::shared_ptr<boost::asio::basic_stream_socket<boost::asio::ip::tcp, boost::asio::stream_socket_service<boost::asio::ip::tcp> > > >, boost::_bi::value<boost::asio::ip::basic_endpoint<boost::asio::ip::tcp> >, boost::_bi::value<bool> > > >': /usr/local/include/boost/thread/detail/thread.hpp:191: undefined reference to `boost::thread::start_thread()' SSLConnectionManager.o: In function `~thread_data': /usr/local/include/boost/thread/detail/thread.hpp:40: undefined reference to `boost::detail::thread_data_base::~thread_data_base()' /usr/local/include/boost/thread/detail/thread.hpp:40: undefined reference to `boost::detail::thread_data_base::~thread_data_base()' /usr/local/include/boost/thread/detail/thread.hpp:40: undefined reference to `boost::detail::thread_data_base::~thread_data_base()' /usr/local/include/boost/thread/detail/thread.hpp:40: undefined reference to `boost::detail::thread_data_base::~thread_data_base()' Now the errors are related to boost::detail and boost::filesystem::detail. I've tried using boost 1.35 and 1.42 (latest). On my own Ubuntu system, I installed the libraries from Ubuntu repositories and I was able to compile+link sslsniff just fine. Thanks in advance.

  • implementing twitter bootstrap carousel

    - by arboles
I am having trouble implementing the bootstrap carousel. Can anyone look at the following html and js and give me instructions on how to implement the slide. The .js has not been edited and the carousel is installed on the body hero unit. Do I implement the carousel api? How do I define the carousel I am using within the .js file? Thanks. <div class="carousel"> <!-- Carousel items --> <div class="carousel-inner"> <!-- Main hero unit for a primary marketing message or call to action --> <div class="hero-unit"> <h1>Hello, world!</h1> <p>This is a template for a simple marketing or informational website. It includes a large callout called the hero unit and three supporting pieces of content. Use it as a starting point to create something more unique.</p> <p><a class="btn btn-primary btn-large">Learn more &raquo;</a></p> </div> </div> <!-- Carousel nav --> <a class="carousel-control left" href="#myCarousel" data-slide="prev">&lsaquo;</a> <a class="carousel-control right" href="#myCarousel" data-slide="next">&rsaquo;</a> </div>

  • How to do "map chunks", like terraria or minecraft maps?

    - by O'poil
Due to performance issues, I have to cut my maps into chunks. I manage the maps in this way: listMap[x][y] = new Tile (x,y); I tried in vain to cut this list for several "chunk" to avoid loading all the map because the fps are not very high with large map. And yet, when I update or Draw I do it with a little tile range. Here is how I proceed: foreach (List<Tile> list in listMap) { foreach (Tile leTile in list) { if ((leTile.Position.X < screenWidth + hero.Pos.X) && (leTile.Position.X > hero.Pos.X - tileSize) && (leTile.Position.Y < screenHeight + hero.Pos.Y) && (leTile.Position.Y > hero.Pos.Y - tileSize) ) { leTile.Draw(spriteBatch, gameTime); } } } (and the same thing, for the update method). So I try to learn with games like minecraft or terraria, and any two manages maps much larger than mine, without the slightest drop of fps. And apparently, they load "chunks". What I would like to understand is how to cut my list in Chunk, and how to display depending on the position of my character. I try many things without success. Thank you in advance for putting me on the right track! Ps : Again, sorry for my English :'( Pps : I'm not an experimented developer ;)

  • Howto install google-mock on Ubuntu 12.10

    - by user1459339
I am having hard time trying to install Google C++ Mocking Framework. I have successfully run sudo apt-get install google-mock. Then I tried to compile this sample file #include "gmock/gmock.h" int main(int argc, char** argv) { ::testing::InitGoogleMock(&argc, argv); return RUN_ALL_TESTS(); } with g++ -lgmock main.cpp and these errors have shown main.cpp:(.text+0x1e): undefined reference to `testing::InitGoogleMock(int*, char**)' main.cpp:(.text+0x23): undefined reference to `testing::UnitTest::GetInstance()' main.cpp:(.text+0x2b): undefined reference to `testing::UnitTest::Run()' collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status I guess the linker can not find the library files. Does anybody know how to fix this?
