  • Monitor System Resources from the Windows 7 Taskbar

    The problem with most system monitoring apps is that they get covered up with all of your open windows, but you can solve that problem by adding monitoring apps to the Taskbar. Setting Up & Using SuperbarMonitor All of the individual monitors and the .dll files necessary to run them come in a single zip file for your convenience. Simply unzip the contents, add them to an appropriate “Program Files Folder”, and create shortcuts for the monitors that you would like to use on your system. For our example we created shortcuts for all five monitors and set the shortcuts up in their own “Start Menu Folder”. You can see what the five monitors (Battery, CPU, Disk, Memory, & Volume) look like when running…they are visual in appearance without text to clutter up the looks. The monitors use colors (red, green, & yellow) to indicate the amount of resources being used for a particular category. Note: Our system is desktop-based but the “Battery Monitor” was shown for the purposes of demonstration…thus the red color seen here. Hovering the mouse over the “Battery, CPU, Disk, & Memory Monitors” on our system displayed a small blank thumbnail. Note: The “Battery Monitor” may or may not display more when used on your laptop. Going one step further and hovering the mouse over the thumbnails displayed a small blank window. There really is nothing that you will need to worry with outside of watching the color for each individual monitor. Nice and simple! The one monitor with extra features on the thumbnail was the “Volume Monitor”. You can turn the volume down, up, on, or off from here…definitely useful if you have been wanting to hide the “Volume Icon” in the “System Tray”. You can also pin the monitors to your “Taskbar” if desired. Keep in mind that if you do close any of the monitors they will “temporarily” disappear from the “Taskbar” until the next time they are started. Note: If you want the monitors to start with your system each time you will need to add the appropriate shortcuts to the “Startup Sub-menu” in your “Start Menu”. My question is how to take the 4 classes in the message box/array and write them to the linklabel text in form 2????     I usually only enable system restore on OS drive. But even so, I rarely use it. Usually when got infected, system restore can't help resolving the issue. Besides got infected, I can't think of any case that requires system restore. So, is it recommend to enable it? Thanks.

Can I fool the system into using that file (if I copied it back into the restore point folder)?   • Is it possible to clone system drive in Windows 7?

    My current problem is that my Window 7 system drive is unstable. I would like to try to clone this drive to the same type of disk (OCZ Vertex 2 120GB to OCZ Vertex 2 120GB) and replace the system drive with created clone. My installation doesn't have ProgramData and User profiles on the system drive. Later on (after warranty replacement of problematic drive), I would like to copy ProgramData and User profiles to different disk (Samsung SpinPoint 750GB to OCZ Vertex 2 120GB) and use the new disk instead. My local resource files are located on my pc at: C:\inetpub\wwwroot\GlobalX\Input\App_LocalResources Within this folder are my resource files for all the languages that site handles (InputContactDetails.aspx.ro.resx, InputContactDetails.aspx.hi.resx, etc.), as well as the default resource file (InputContactDetails.aspx.resx). I am receiving an error when I attempt to implement the virtual path string.   • How to write code that communicates with an accelerator in the real address space (real mode)?

    This is a preliminary question for the issue, where I was asked to program a host-accelerator program on an embedded system we are building. The system is comprised of (among the standard peripherals) an ARM core and an accelerator processor. Both processors access the system bus via their bus interfaces, and share the same 32-bit global physical memory space. Both share access to the system's DRAM through the system bus. (The computer concept is similar to Beagleboard/raspberry Pie, but with a specialized accelerator added) The accelerator has its own internal memory (SRAM) which is exposed to the system and occupies a portion of the global address space (as opposed to how a graphics card would talk to teh CPU via a "small" aperture in the system memory space). On the ARM core (the host) we plan on running Ubuntu 12.04. The mode of operation of communicating between the processors should be that the host issues memory transactions on the system bus that are targeted at the accelerator internal memory. As far as my understanding goes, if I write a program for the host that simply writes to the physical address of the accelerator, most chances are that the program will crash due to a segmentation violation. So, I assume that I need some way of communicating with the device in real mode. What is the easiest way to achieve this mode of operation?

    I've been messing around with the SQLite Designer in Visual Studio 2008 and I have noticed that when I use the generated Insert/Update statements they run extremely slow. Example: I have a data table with four columns and 5700 rows it took ~5 mins to insert the data into the database table However, I wrote my own database connection and insert methods using parameters and a single transaction and the same 5700 rows were inserted in under 1 second.   • Unresponsive form instance when instantiating form gets minimized

    There's form A is the main form that gets hidden and is accessible via NotifyIcon's context menu. Form A instantiates form B via NotifyIcon's context menu also. Form B reacts to mouse events, etc. No problem there. Form B instantiates form C. Form C reacts to mouse events, etc. No problem here as well, but when form B gets minimized, form C no longer reacts to mouse events (eg. can no longer move, button clicks do not respond). Any idea why form C behaves like this in relation to form B getting minimized. I also tried to instantiate form C through form A (eg. form B calling a method in form A to instantiate form C) but the same thing happens. Is there any way to make form C respond even w/ form B (initiator) minimized?

    I'm trying to configure automated build of BizTalk 2009 projects using Team Foundation Server 2008. We have a staging server which has BizTalk 2009 installed. I ran the Team Foundation Server Build Setup on this server, and it can build non-BizTalk projects OK. However, BizTalk projects fail to build. I suspected something was amiss when "Deployment" was not a valid build type! I tried copying various things over from a developer PC which has BizTalk and Visual Studio 2008 installed, but still couldn't get it to work. I don't really want to install Visual Studio on the staging server, but without it the "Developer Tools and SDK" option in the BizTalk install is greyed out. I guess I need this in order for BizTalk projects to compile. So, my question is can a BizTalk 2009 server be used as a TFS build agent to build BizTalk projects without having Visual Studio installed. If the answer is no, what's the smallest part of VS that can be installed to get this to work? Thanks in advance.

    So, I have this view hierarchy in my app: UIWindow UIViewController UITabBarController -> 4 UINavigationController I know that a UITabBarController is designed to be the topmost view in an app, however this isn't possible in my case. However, the problem that I have is that ~20 of the lower pixels aren't responsive for touches so that the UITabBarController doesn't trigger the tab changes correctly. This happens on an actual device (iPad and iPhone 3G). My question is, are there any obvious reasons why this could happen? My problem now is, if I try to send around 300 emails (each with a 500k attachment) the app starts hanging around 95% thru the process.     I am writing a program that needs to set a window just above/below the traybar for gtk. I have tried using the 2 approaches that failed. One was using the gtk_status_icon_position_menu function and placing the window in the point where the user clicks (in the tray bar). The problem is that these solutions work in gnome(Linux) but not in Windows. In Linux they work because the window manager doesn't seem to allow placement of windows in the tray panel, honoring the closest possible. In Windows this doesn't happen and the window can go "out" of the screen which understandably is not desired. With this said i went out for a work around. My idea was to set the window in the location of mouse click and get the x and y coordinates of a normal window placement and with it's size check if it would be within the screen boundaries. If it was not make the correction. I have came up with the functions needed but for some reason the gdk_drawable_get_size(window-window ,&WindowWidth, &WindowHeight) and other similar functions only give the correct size value after the second run of the signal function. The result of the first run is just 1 to both size and width.   • .Net User Messaging System

    I am wondering if there is a framework out there for .NET to help me with sending messages to users. I would love to be able to write all my messages to a single repository. I would then like to be able to send these messages out to a user based on preferences that they set. e.g. I would like to be able to send a Notification A out to user A via email and text message and send Notification B to user B via SMS and IM. Any thoughts on if something like this exists or would I need to write it?
