• Getting 404 in Android app while trying to get xml from localhost

  This must be something really stupid, trying to solve this issue for a couple of days now and it's really not working. I searched everywhere and there probably is someone with the same problem, but I can't seem to find it. I'm working on an Android app and this app pulls some xml from a website. Since this website is down a lot, I decided to save it and run it locally. Now what I did; - I downloaded the kWs app for hosting the downloaded xml file - I put the file in the right directory and could access it through the mobile browser, but not with my app (same code as I used with pulling it from some other website, not hosted by me, only difference was the URL obviously) So I tried to host it on my PC and access it with my app from there. Again the same results, the mobile browsers had no problem finding it, but the app kept saying 404 Not Found: "The requested URL /test.xml&parama=Someone&paramb= was not found on this server." Note: Don't mind the 2 parameters I am sending, I needed that to get the right stuff from the website that wasn't hosted by me. It crashes here, because statusLine.getStatusCode() returns a 404 instead of a 200. The xml is just plain xml, nothing special about it. I changed the contents of the .htaccess file into "ALLOW FROM ALL" (works, cause the browser on my mobile device can access it and shows the correct xml). I am running Android 4.0.4 and I am using the default browser AND chrome on my mobile device. I am using MoWeS to host the website on my PC. • Delaying execution of Javascript function relative to Google Maps / geoxml3 parser?

  I'm working on a implementing a Google map on a website with our own tiles overlays and KML elements. I've been previously requested to create code so that, for instance, when the page is loaded from a specific URL, it would initialize with one of the tile overlays already enabled. Recently, I've been requested to do the same for the buildings which are outlined by KML elements so that, arriving at the page with a specific URL, it would automatically zoom, center, and display information on the building. However, while starting with the tile overlays work, the building KML does not. In short, I have a mistiming and I can't seem to find a suitable place to place the URL code to execute after the KMl has loaded. While the page has completed loading all of the elements, the map on the page is still loading, including the KML elements. I have also tried placing urlClick() in the parser itself in various places which appear to execute after all the shapes have been parsed, but I've had no success there either. While I've been intending to strip out the parser, I would like to know if there is any way of executing the "urlClick" after the parser has returned the KML shapes. Ideally, I don't want to use an arbitrary means of defining a time to wait, such as "wait 3 seconds, and go", as my various browsers all load the page at different times; rather, I'm looking for some way to say "when the parser is done, execute" or "when the Google map is completely loaded, execute" or perhaps even "hold until the parser is complete before advancing to urlClick".

• Maven: compile aspectj project containing Java 1.6 source

  What I want to do is fairly easy. Or so you would think. However, nothing is working properly. Requirement: Using maven, compile Java 1.6 project using AspectJ compiler. Note: Our code cannot compile with javac. That is, it fails compilation if aspects are not woven in (because we have aspects that soften exceptions). Questions (based on failed attempts below): Either 1) How do you get maven to run the aspectj:compile goal directly, without ever running compile:compile? 2) How do you specify a custom compilerId that points to your own ajc compiler? Thanks for any and all suggestions. These are the things I've tried that have let to my problem/questions: Attempt 1 (fail): Specify aspectJ as the compiler for the maven-compiler-plugin: org.apache.maven.plugins maven-compiler-plugin 2.2 1.6 1.6 aspectj org.codehaus.plexus plexus-compiler-aspectj 1.8 This fails with the error: org.codehaus.plexus.compiler.CompilerException: The source version was not recognized: 1.6 No matter what version of the plexus compiler I use (1.8, 1.6, 1.3, etc), this doesn't work. I actually read through the source code and found that this compiler does not like source code above Java 1.5. Attempt 2 (fail): Use the aspectJ-maven-plugin attached to the compile and test-compile goals: org.codehaus.mojo aspectj-maven-plugin 1.3 1.6 1.6 compile test-compile This fails when running either: mvn clean test-compile mvn clean compile because it attempts to execute compile:compile before running aspectj:compile. As noted above, our code doesn't compile with javac--the aspects are required. So mvn would need to skip the compile:compile goal altogether and run only aspectj:compile. Attempt 3 (works but unnacceptable): Use the same configuration above but instead run: mvn clean aspectj:compile This works, in that it builds successfully but it's unacceptable in that we need to be able to run the compile goal and the test-compile goal directly (m2eclipse auto-build depends on those goals). Moreover, running it this way would require that we spell out every goal we want along the way (for instance, we need resources distributed and tests to be run and test resources deployed, etc)

• Maven Eclipse plugin and classpath issues in Eclipse

  I am using Eclipse 3.51, Maven 2.0.9, Java 1.4, with the Maven Eclipse plugin 2.7 with WTP 2.0 (not m2Eclipse). I have a flat multi module project that is set up as follows (module Parent with the parent pom, module A and B is dependent on C). Importing the four modules in for the first time will show compile errors as expected since I have not ran the eclipse plugin. With my local repository empty, running eclipse clean will resolve all compile errors and dependencies within the my local workspace. If I were to make some minor code changes to module B and run the eclipse plugin again, compile errors would show up in module A and B. Compile errors about classes that cannot be found. Its like module C is no longer in the classpath for A and B to see. I look at the .classpath file and its definitely looking at the right modules in the Eclipse workspace. If I delete the maven repository and do the eclipse clean again, the compile errors about unresolved classes are fixed. Also, if I run the eclpse clean command with the useProjectReferences flag to false and then rerun it with true, Eclipse would rebuild my workspace and the errors will go away. Whats going on?

Now, the script works fine and the output is generated correctly. The only problem I counter is with two WebApp projects in the solution that use the AJAX Control Toolkit. The toolkit has a set of folders (e.g. ar, it, es, fr) that contain localized resources. These folders are not copied in the bin directory of the WebApps when the solution is built in MSBuild, but they are copied when it is built in Visual Studio. How can I solve this in a clean manner? I know I could write a (quite convoluted) task that copies the directories after the compile, but it does not seem the right solution to me. Also, neither Google, SO and MSDN could provide more details on this kind of issue.

• TeamCity + HG. Only pull (push?) passing builds

  Feels like with the popularity of continuous integration this one should be a piece of cake but I am stumped. I am setting up TeamCity with HG. I want to be able to push changesets up to a repository that TeamCity watches and runs builds on changes. That's easy. Next, if a build passes, I want that changeset to be pulled into a "clean" repository... one that contains only passing changesets. Should be easy but... TeamCity 6 supports multiple build steps and if any step fails, the rest don't run. My thought was to put a build step at the end that does a pull (or optionally a push?) to get the passing changeset into the clean repository. I am trying to use PsExec to run hg on the box with the repositories. If I try to run just a plain 'hg pull' it can't find the hg.exe even though it is set in the path and I have used the -w flag. I have tried putting a .bat file in the clean repository that takes a revision parameter and it works fine... locally. When I try to run the .bat file remotely (using PsExec) it runs everything fine but it tries to run it on the build agent. Even if I set the -w argument it runs the .bat file there but tries to run the contents on the build agent box. Am I just WAY off in my approach? Seems like this is a pretty obvious thing to do so either my Google skills are waning or no one thinks this is worthy of writing about. Either way, I am stuck in SVN land trying to get out so I would appreciate some help!

• Does posting data with a textarea automatically add slashes to (escape) the text?

  Ok, so I'm having a problem with a simple textarea. I'm using a kind of hidden page to easily encode some data using JSON. However, all of my text input is automatically being escaped somewhere and I don't know where. All of my $_POST variables are automatically run through the htmlentities() function when the script starts up, as seen below: $ani->i->post = $this->clean($_POST, true); function clean($values, $unset = false) { if (is_array($values)) { foreach ($values as $key => $value) { $newkey = strtolower($key); $return[$newkey] = $this->clean($value); unset($values[$key]); } return $return; } return htmlentities($values); } I keep getting \' for all of my single quotes when I put the value back into the textarea. I can't find anywhere where it would be adding slashes and I don't remember it being a feature that they were automatically added when you submit from a textarea, and if that was so, why would they not be returning back to a single quote when put back into the textarea? Do I really need to run variables through stripslashes() to get them back to their original form? We run the build in such a way that it entirely recreates the structures necessary for testing and deployment every time to avoid stale class files and such. With the way that delete currently is set up, a failure to delete a file does not fail the build and I'd like it to. I don't want it to fail the build if the file doesn't exist though. If it doesn't exist then what I'm asking it to do has already happened. Thoughts?

• Git: Create a branch from unstagged/uncommited changes on master

  Context: I'm working on master adding a simple feature. After a few minutes I realize it was not so simple and it should have been better to work into a new branch. This always happens to me and I have no idea how to switch to another branch and take all these uncommited changes with me leaving the master branch clean.   Hello everyone! So i have this issue : i am declaring some extern global variables in my C program. If I don't use the -c option for gcc, i get undefined references errors. But with that -c option, the linking is not done, which means that i don't have an executable generated. So how do I solve this? Here is my makefile. I want to create a .proj file with targets for clean, compile, deploy, etc. In ant, I would expect my user to run ant -project-help to get a list of the targets with their descriptions. • Active Directory and Apple's Workgroup Manager

  I thought I'd share my experiences here. I work for a small business with only ~20 users. I wanted the ability to use managed client preferences to assign things like the software update server. Basically the ability to manage my Macs easily and in a native way. At first I tried the magic triangle solution, but I found this to be very complicated. Not only does it require a Mac OS X Server, but it gives you two points of failure. Additionally each Mac workstation must be bound to both servers. Eventually I sucked it up and went with the schema changes documented here. I was hesitant at first, because the instructions require a lot of manual work. However it was fairly basic and only took me about an hour and a half. Below you'll find the schema changes file that was a result of my work. I followed the instructions exactly and double checked everything, after six months of having this in place things have been running great. Too good to not share.   I just built a new proxy server and compiled the latest versions of squid and dansguardian. We use basic authentication to select what users are allowed outside of our network. It seems squid is working just fine and accepts my username and password and lets me out. But if i connect to dans guardian, it prompts for username and password and then displays a message saying my username is not allowed to access the internet. Its pulling my username for the error message so i know it knows who i am. The part i get confused on is i thought that part was handled all by squid, and squid is working flawlessly. If I log in, the dialog box gets redirected to my Connect URL, but there's no fb cookie, so of course nothing works. What am I doing wrong here?

• UIWebView leak? Can someone confirm?

  I was leak-testing my current project and I'm stumped. I've been browsing like crazy and tried everything except chicken sacrifice. I just created a tiny toy project app from scratch and I can duplicate the leak in there. So either UIWebView has a leak or I'm doing something really silly. Essentially, it boils down to a loadRequest: call to a UIWebView object, given an URLRequest built from an NSURL which references a file URL, for a file in the app bundle, which lives inside a folder that Xcode is including by reference. Phew. The leak is intermittent but still happens ~75% of the time (in about 20 tests it happened about 15 times). It only happens on the device -- this does not leak in the simulator. I am testing targeting both iPhone OS 3.1.2 and 3.1.3, on an original (1st Gen) iPod Touch that is using iPhone OS 3.1.3. To reproduce, just create a project from scratch. Add a UIWebView to the RootViewController's .xib, hook it up via IBOutlet. In the Finder, create a folder named "html" inside your project's folder. Inside that folder, create a file named "dummy.html" that has the word "Test" in it. (Does not need to be valid HTML.) Then add the html folder to your project in Xcode by choosing "Create Folder References for any added folders" Add the following to viewDidLoad NSString* resourcePath = [[NSBundle mainBundle] resourcePath]; NSString* filePath = [[resourcePath stringByAppendingPathComponent:@"html"] stringByAppendingPathComponent:@"dummy.html"]; NSURL* url = [[NSURL alloc] initFileURLWithPath:filePath]; NSURLRequest* request = [NSURLRequest requestWithURL:url]; // <-- this creates the leak! All requests which I perform after that code also return HTML source of login page so I can assume that it does not login correctly. Can anybody help me to solve that problem or give working example? Main thing which I want to achieve is scanning for new images in Nextgen Gallery plugin for Wordpress. Is there XML-RPC way of doing that? Thanks in advance.

• Proxy settings with ivy...

  Hi, I have an issue where in I have defined dependancies in ivy.xml on our internal corporate svn. I am able to access this svn site without any proxy task in ant. While my dependencies resides on ibiblio, that’s something outside our corporate, and needs proxy inorder to download something. So as can be seen here for getting ivy.xml, I don’t need any proxy as its within our own network which cant be accesses when I set proxy. But on the other hand I am using ibiblio as well which is external to our network and works only with proxy. So above build.xml wont work in that case. Can somebody help here. I don’t need proxy while getting ivy.xml (as if I have proxy, ivy wont be able to find ivy file behind proxy from within the network), and I just need it when my resolver goes to public url.

• How can I move the close button to the top-right corner of the box in slimbox (jQuery)

  I want to have my button in the top-right corner, I tried position: absolute, but I think the position of the box is not relative so I can't use top: 0;. Any suggestions?
