    i'm having some troubles compiling my work, i'm using ubuntu with g++! i get a lot of these messages: undefined reference to `boost::filesystem3::directory_entry::m_get_status(boost::system::error_code*) const' undefined reference to `boost::filesystem3::path::extension() const' undefined reference to `boost::filesystem3::path::filename() const' undefined reference to `boost::filesystem3::path::filename() const' (etc...) I've searched and found maaany answers but none of those work for me.     I've got a utility that outputs a list of files required by a game. How can I run that utility within a C program and grab its output so I can act on it within the same program? UPDATE: Good call on the lack of information. The utility spits out a series of strings, and this is supposed to be complete portable across Mac/Windows/Linux. Please note, I'm looking for a programmatic way to execute the utility and retain its output (which goes to stdout).

Map system can only work if create mask includes octal 010 (S_IXGRP)."     Say the folder structure looks like this: . |--folder1 |--subfolder1 |--subfolder2 |--subfolder2 |--folder2 |--subfolder1 |--subfolder2 |--subfolder2 |--folder3 |--subfolder1 |--subfolder2 I would like to find all files in subfolder2 only. I know I can just do this: $ find . -type f |grep subfolder2 But was wondering if find comes with a option to include/exclude given directories?

  • How to run a restricted set of programs with Administrator privileges without giving up Admin acces (Win7 Pro)

    I have a shared system, running Windows7 X64, restricted to a 'standard user' with no password. Not everyone who has access to the system has the administrator password. This works rather well, except for some applications - specially the unlock-applications for encrypted hard drives/USB flash drives. The specific ones either require Administrator access (eg. Seagate Blackarmor) or simply fail without it -- since these programs are sending raw commands to a device, this is to be expected. I would like to be able to add the hashes of these particular programs to a whitelist, and have them run as administrator without needing any prompts. Since these are by definition on removable media, I can't simply use a filename or even a path. One of the users who shares the system can be considered 'crafty', so anything which temporarily grants administrator rights to an user account is certain to cause problems. What i'd like to be able to do: 1) Create an admin account that can only run programs from a whitelist (or, failing that, from a directory) I can't find a good way to do this: As far as I can tell, SRP applies equally to ALL users? Even if I put a "Deny" token on all directories on the system, such that new directories would inherit it, it could still potentially run things from the mounted USB devices. I also don't know whether it's possible to create a new directory that DOESN'T inherit from the parent, that would lake the deny token, and provide admin access. 2) Find a lightweight service that will run these programs in its local context Windows7 seems to block cross-privilege level communication by default, and I haven't found such for windows 7. One example seems to be "sudo" (http://pages.cpsc.ucalgary.ca/~nfriess/sudo/) but because it uses a WLNOTIFY hook, it won't work under Vista nor Windows7 Non-Solutions: - RunAs: Requires administrator password! (but everyone calls it "sudo" anyway) - RunAs /savecred: Nice idea, but appears to be completely insecure. - RUNASSPC - Same concept as RunAs, uses "encrypted" files with credentials, but checks in user-space. - Scheduled Tasks - "Fixed" permissions make this difficult, and doesn't support interactive processes even if it did. - SuRun: From Google: "Surun uses its own Windows service that adds the user to the group of administrators during program start and removes him automatically from that group again"

  • Profile pictures are neither displayed or stored in my Status.Net installation

    I am running Status.Net 1.0.1 on my webhosting service. When I subscribe to a remote OStatus account, the avatar is neither displayed nor stored in my avatar/ directory. The INSTALLATION file suggests setting the avatar/, background/ and files/ directories to webserver writeable, but this does not help. Has anybody gotten this to work or could anyone point me in the right direction for a solution?

  • iOS6: do we have to set rootViewController in App delegate in order to support different orientations?

    The app was perfectly fine working in iOS5 in landscape orientation. However in iOS6, it started to use portrait orientation in all view controllers. The methods shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation are not called anymore. I read the new stuff about changed rotation mechanism in iOS6 and I was able to fix that by adding a line in my AppDelegate: self.window.rootViewController = _viewController _viewControler is the starting screen (Home-menu). All other view controllers implement shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation method and returns YES for landscape orientations only. So, it's perfectly working solution for the app that needs to support only one orientation. However, the problem is I need one view controller (lets call it phone-VC) to be presented in portrait orientation. Now, if I want this view controller would be rotated then I need to return YES in Home-menu controller that is assigned to rootViewControler in appDelegate. However, I can't do that because this rootViewController is starting window that need to presented in landscape only, otherwise the layout with graphics in this window will break. But if I don't return YES from its shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation (Home-menu) then the same method is not called in my view phone-VC that needs to be presented in portrait. Any ideas? Does the assignation of rootViewController is mandatory in AppDelegate? UPDATE: the problem exists on device (at least on iPhone4).

  • Jquery animate negative top and back to 0 - starts messing up after 3rd click

    The site in question is this one: http://www.pickmixmagazine.com/wordpress/ When you click on one of the posts (any of the boxes) an iframe will slide down from the top with the content in it. Once the "Home" button in the top left hand corner of the iframe is clicked, the iframe slides back up. This works perfectly the first 2 times, on the 3rd click on of a post, the content will slide down, but when the home button is clicked, the content slides back up normally but once it has slid all the way up to the position it should be in, the iframe drops straight back down to where it was before the home button was clicked, I click it again and then it works. I assume that it would involve a shared memory and a circular buffer and shared synchronization mechanisms. But shared mutexes are very expensive (and there are limited number of them too) to synchronize when threads are running on different physical CPUs.

    I have a simple website where I establish a connection to a Mysql server using PDO. $dbh = new PDO('mysql:host=localhost;dbname=DB;port=3306', 'USER', 'SECRET',array(PDO::MYSQL_ATTR_INIT_COMMAND => "SET NAMES utf8")); I had some traffic on my site and the servers connection limit was reached, and the website throw this error, with my PLAIN password in it! Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'PDOException' with message 'SQLSTATE[08004] [1040] Too many connections' in /home/premiumize-me/html/index.php:64 Stack trace: #0 /home/premiumize-me/html/index.php(64): PDO-__construct('mysql:host=loca...', 'USER', 'SECRET', Array) #1 {main} thrown in /home/premiumize-me/html/index.php on line 64 Ironically I switched to PDO for security reasons, this really shocked me. Because this exact error is something you can provoke very easily on most sites using simple http flooding. I now wrapped my conenction into a try/catch clause, but still. I think this is catastrophic! So I am new to PDO and my questino is: What do I have to consider to be safe! How to I establish a connection in a secure way? Are there other known security holes like this one that I have to be aware of?

  • Where does Chrome store its bookmarks in Ubuntu 11.10?

    I looked at all the other posts on this but can't find the directories mentioned (~/.config/google-chrome/Default/Bookmarks, it's a JSON file.). Being a 2 day Newbie to Ubuntu/Linux I would like to know if the location has changed in the latest version or if not how I locate the directory indicated. I have logged in as root and searched for the folder and can't find it although I imported my bookmarks from a html file so I know that they must be saved somewhere.
