  • Difference between library and native library

    - by Alvin
Could anyone tell me the difference between library and native library in terms of java? I found the word "native library" in the following line: Type 1 - drivers that implement the JDBC API as a mapping to another data access API, such as ODBC. Drivers of this type are generally dependent on a native library, which limits their portability. The JDBC-ODBC Bridge driver is an example of a Type 1 driver. which you can found here

  • CAML queries: how to filter folders from result set?

    - by drax
Hi all, I'm using caml query to select all documents which were modified or added by user. Query runs recursively on all subsites of specified site collection. Now problem is I can't get rid of folders which are also part of result set. For now I'm filtering them from result datatable. But I'm wondering: Is it possible to filter out folders from result set just by using caml?

  • How do CUDA devices handle immediate operands?

    - by Jack Lloyd
Compiling CUDA code with immediate (integer) operands, are they held in the instruction stream, or are they placed into memory? Specifically I'm thinking about 24 or 32 bit unsigned integer operands. I haven't been able to find information about this in any of the CUDA documentation I've examined so far. So references to any documents on specific uarch details like this would be perfect, as I don't currently have a good model for how CUDA works at this level.

I would like to store the generated pdf document in a SQL database and then later be able to retrieve this pdf as well. What are some suggestions for doing this? Can the document be stored in the database without physically creating the document on the server?

  • what does "dead beef" mean?

    - by Xi
Hi there: What does the word "dead beef" mean? I read it from a interview question. It has something to do with ipv6. I figured it could be a random hex number used for examples, like "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog". Is my understanding correct? Or it has more significant meaning? Thanks!

  • Sequential numbering from recursive function? e.g. 2, 2.1, 2.1.1, 2.2, 2.2.1

    - by Pete
I have a recursive function reading a "table of contents" of documents from a database. I would like to print numbering with the document that reflects where the item is in the tree, e.g. First item, 1.1 Child of first item, 1.1.1 Child of child of first item, 1.2 Child of first item, Second item, 2.1 Child of second item, etc. Rather stumped about this at the moment - help please?

  • QuickTimeX in Applescript / Scripting Bridge

    - by JP
I'd like to be able to grab the metadata of the currently playing file in Quicktime X using ScriptingBridge and Ruby, so far I have the following code require 'osx/cocoa' OSX.require_framework 'ScriptingBridge' @app = OSX::SBApplication.applicationWithBundleIdentifier("com.apple.QuickTimePlayerX") @app.documents.each do |movie| # What now?! end But I can't find any functions in QuickTime X's applescript dictionary to get the metadata from a document object (the same data you can see in QT's 'Show Movie Inspector' HUD) — does anyone have any ideas?

  • How to retrieve the file previews used by windows explorer in Windows vista and seven?

    - by user193655
    I am developing a Delphi documents management application, so somehow I am giving the user some functionality similar to windows explorer. I would like to know if there is a way to get the preview used by windows explorer. For example windows explorer creates a small thumbnail for a pdf document for example, and displays it when the user chooses to view "big icons". Is there a way to retrieve that preview? MyTImage := GiveMePreviewForFile('C:\Test\File.pdf');

  • Creating views with PHP for couchDB

    - by Industrial
Hi! I have started to try out noSQL databases now and are currently testing out couchDB. Seems like a good solution, but I really get some headache when I follow available examples on how to create views (queries) to select documents from a database and sort them. Everything I can find is regarding Javascript and it would be great to take part of some examples for PHP since that is the language we will use. So, how do I create views using PHP for couchDB?
