• .NET library for generating javascript?

  Do you know of a .NET library for generating javascript code? I want to generate javascript code based on information in my .NET application. I would like to be able to create an AST-like datastructure (using C#) and have it turned into valid javascript. I need to be able to create functions, statements, expressions etc., so I need something more than a JSON serializer - but I guess you could think of this as a (very) generalized JSON serializer. Do such libraries exist and if so, could you recommend any? Thank you.

• How to use xcode compiler warnings to determine minimum IOS deployment target

  I'm building an iOS app using Xcode 3.2.5 with the Base SDK set to iOS 4.2 I know I've used some api's from 4.0 and 4.1 but not sure about whether I actually require 4.2. According to the iOS Development Guide, "Xcode displays build warnings when it detects that your application is using a feature that’s not available in the target OS release". So I was hoping to use the compiler warnings to derive my minimum OS requirement. However, even when I set my iOS Deployment Target to iOS 3.0, I still don't get any compiler warnings. I must be doing something wrong, but not sure what? Can anyone confirm that they get compiler warnings when the iOS deployment target is less than the base SDK and the code uses base SDK functions? Or do the compiler warnings only show if you link a framework that didn't exist in the iOS deployment target version?

• In MVC view page javascript file url not resolving

  Hello All: I have one MVC view page in which I show different links and I am using ThickBox to show a different page when ever one of these links is clicked. In these pages, I am using jQuery functions to do some changes, but I am not able to resolve the jquery file path on the view pages. I need to give absolute path something like "http://test.com/js/jquery.js". But is there any way to make it relative? I also tried getting the host url and using <%=% and <%# % but none is working. According to this blog post, the xsi:type attribute is special and can't be accessed by usal keywords/functions. How can I do it? • Cross platform unicode path handling

  I'm using boost::filesystem for cross-platform path manipulation, but this breaks down when calls need to be made down into interfaces I don't control that won't accept UTF-8. For example when using the Windows API, I need to convert to UTF-16, and then call the wide-string version of whatever function I was about to call, and then convert any output back to UTF-8. While the wpath, and other w* forms of many of the boost::filesystem functions help keep sanity, are there any suggestions for how best to handle this conversion to wide-string forms where needed, while maintaining consistency in my own code?

• Cross-reference between delphi records

  Let's say I have a record TQuaternion and a record TVector. Quaternions have some methods with TVector parameters. On the other hand, TVector supports some operations that have TQuaternion parameters. Knowing that Delphi (Win32) does not allow for forward record declarations, how do I solve this elegantly? Using classes is not really an option here, because I really want to use operator overloading for this rare case where it actually makes good sense. For now I simply moved these particular methods out of the records and into separate functions, the good old-fashioned way. Better suggestions are most welcome.

• Why does gcc add symbols to non-debug build?

  When I do a release build with gcc (i.e. I do not specify -g), I still seem to end up with symbols in the binary, and have to use strip to remove them. In fact, I can still breakpoint functions and get backtraces in gdb (albeit without line numbers). • Getting a sorted distinct list from mySQL

  Goal I'l like to get a list of unique FID's ordered by the the one which has most recently been changed. In this sample table it should return FIDs in the order of 150, 194, 122 Example Data ID FID changeDate ---------------------------------------------- 1 194 2010-04-01 2 122 2010-04-02 3 194 2010-04-03 4 150 2010-04-04 My Attempt I thought distinct and order by would do the trick. I initially tried: SELECT distinct `FID` FROM `tblHistory` WHERE 1 ORDER BY changeDate desc # Returns 150, 122, 194 using GROUP BY has the same result. I'm just barely a SQL amateur, and I'm a bit hung up. What seems to be happening is the aggregating functions find the first occurrence of each and then perform the sort. Is there a way I can get the result I want straight from mySQL or do I have to grab all the data and then sort it in the PHP?

  Hello, I have a Java application and I want to implement an Undo/Redo option. the value that I want to stock and that I want to be able to recover is an integer. My Class Model implements the interface StateEditable and I have to redefine the 2 functions restoreState(Hashtable<?, ?> state) and storeState(Hashtable<Object, Object> state) but I don't know what to put on them. It will be really great if somebody can help me to do that. • Loading Youtube Iframe API with RequireJS

  I'm trying to use the Youtube Iframe API inside a module definded with Require JS. As this API is loaded async and calls a function once is loaded, I used a requireJS plugin called "async", that worked before with google maps api. However, this time something isn't working. My module starts this way: define(['text!fmwk/widgets/video/video.html','fmwk/utils/browser','async!http://www.youtube.com/iframe_api'], function (videoTpl,root) { ... }); and chrome console fires this error: Uncaught Error: Load timeout for modules: async!http://www.youtube.com/iframe_api_unnormalized3,async!http://www.youtube.com/iframe_api http://requirejs.org/docs/errors.html#timeout If I don't use async plugin the object YT or its functions are undefinded, and the same happens if I download the API code. The API is loaded sometimes if I put an script tag in the head tag of the html file. All this is expected, but I don't understand because async plugin fails. Thank you for your attention and help :)

  I'm working on an API that accepts data from remote clients, some of which where the key in an HTTP POST almost functions as an array. In english what this means is say I have a resource on my server called "class". A class in this sense, is the type a student sits in and a teacher educates in. When the user submits an HTTP POST to create a new class for their application, a lot of the key value pairs look like: student_name: Bob Smith student_name: Jane Smith student_name: Chris Smith What's the best way to handle this on both the client side (let's say the client is cURL or ActiveResource, whatever..) and what's a decent way of handling this on the server-side if my server is a Ruby on Rails app? Need a way to allow for multiple keys with the same name and without any namespace clashing or loss of data.

Anyone have any insight as to why this transition won't run? Something I need to import?

• Is it possible to call a user-space callback function from kernel space in Linux (ioctl)?

  Is it possible to expand the ioctl interface in Linux so that the user-space application can send a pointer to a function to the kernel space driver? I'm in particular thinking of ways to handle the stream in user-controllable way but doing it in the kernel. Those operations could be attached to the kernel module but this would make development a lot easier as I wouldn't need to mess with the kernel during development. More specifically, this would be the process: Data is read by the driver to a buffer. Data is handled by these user-defined functions in place. Some more handling is done, possibly with some HW blocks. Data is used by a user-space application.

• PHP Image Link in FUnction 404's

  Hello, I have a valid link that goes to a picture located on my web server. It is a simple jpg image, I can copy and paste this link into my web browser and it loads fine. The issue comes in when I try to call a few php functions on the image... such as getimagesize or fopen... they both return 404 errors even though the image is there. Does anyone know that could be causing this? Thank you for your time.

  I'm trying to get unique IDs for object instances in PHP 5+. The function, spl_object_hash() is available from PHP 5.2 but I'm wondering if there's a workaround for older versions. There are a couple of functions in the comments on php.net but they're not working for me.   I think I summed up the question in the title. Here is some further elaboration... I have a web user control that is used in multiple places, sometimes more than once on a given page. The web user control has a specific set of JavaScript functions (mostly jQuery code) that are containted within *.js files and automatically inserted into page headers. However, when I want to use the control more than once on a page, the *.js files are included 'n' number of times and, rightly so, the browser gets confused as to which control it's meant to be executing which function on. What do I need to do in order to resolve this problem? I've been staring at this all day and I'm at a loss. All comments greatly appreciated. Jason

• Unable to access global variable defined in settings.php [Drupal]

  I am developing a website using Drupal 6.16. I want to define a variable in settings.php like $ge_path = 'some/path/here'; And I want to use it inside my modules. function mymodule_block(....) { global $ge_path; $fullPath = $ge_path . '/another/path'; doSomething($fullPath); } But I am getting NULL as the value of $ge_path. Why am I not able to access the global variable defines in settings.php? How can I get the proper value inside my module functions? The funny thing is, I am able to access $db_url['default'] and $db_url['mydatabase'] etc.. which are defined just two lines above $ge_path in settings.php!

I've looked at many - the WPF one, XCeed, Ingragistics, DevExpress, etc.... but none of them seem to offer the simple requirement I have: I want to be able to display group subtotals in their columns in the group row, e.g. GROUP 1 xxxx.xx GROUP 2 xxxx.xx ROW 1 xx.xx ROW 2 xx.xx Does anyone know of a grid that does this, or a nice supporting collection that implements aggregate functions (group totals would need to be used in individual line items) so that existing grids with a bit of XAML styling would work?   I'm having trouble figureing out how to query every item in a certain category and only list the newest 10 items by date. Here is my table layout: download_categories category_id (int) primary key title (var_char) parent_id (int) downloads id (int) primary key title (var_char) category_id (int) date (date) I need to query every file in a main category that lets say has 100 items and 5 child categories and only spit out the last 10 added. I have functions right now that just add up all the files so I can get a count by category, but I can't seem to modify the code to only display a certain amount of items based on the date.

  I have an html document, and I want to pull the tables out of this document and return them as arrays. I'm picturing 2 functions, one that finds all the html tables in a document, and a second one that turns html tables into 2-dimensional arrays. Something like this: htmltables = get_tables(htmldocument) for table in htmltables: array=make_array(table) There's 2 catches: 1. The number tables varies day to day 2. The tables have all kinds of weird extra formatting, like bold and blink tags, randomly thrown in. Thanks!
