• Jboss logging issue - pl check this as its very urgent

  Actually my issue is , our application is deployed on jboos As 4.0x, we face some issues in jboss logging.. whenever the server is restarted, jboss stops logging , and there is no update in server.log. After that it is not updating the log file. then we do touch cmd on log4j.xml, so that it creates the log files again. Please help me in fixing the issue we cant do touch everytine. we face this issue in both the nodes. I could not figure where the problem is? If any other issues, we can check the log files. If log itself is not getting updated/logged, how can we move further in analysing the issues without the recent/updated logs.. please help me..

• Help with SQL Join on two tables

  I have two tables, one is a table of forum threads. It has a last post date column. Another table has PostID, UserId, and DateViewed. I want to join these tables so I can compare DateViewed and LastPostDate for the current user. However, if they have never viewed the thread, there will not be a row in the 2nd table. This seems easy but I cant wrap my head around it. Advice please. Thanks in advance.

• Cloned Cached item has memory issues

  Hi there, we are having values stored in Cache-Enterprise library Caching Block. The accessors of the cached item, which is a List, modify the values. We didnt want the Cached Items to get affected. Hence first we returned a new List(IEnumerator of the CachedItem) This made sure accessors adding and removing items had little effect on the original Cached item. But we found, all the instances of the List we returned to accessors were ALIVE! Object relational Graph showed a relationship between this list and the EnterpriseLibrary.CacheItem. So we changed the return to be a newly cloned List. For this we used a LINQ say (from item in Data select new DataClass(item) ).ToList() even when you do as above, the ORG shows there is a relationship between this list and the CacheItem. Cant we do anything to create a CLONE of the List item which is present in the Enterprise library cache, which DOESNT have ANY relationship with CACHE?!

I keep seeing that yahoo/ google/ MS offer this data, yet I cant find HOWTO doc (or similar) on getting the data. Reuters is an option - ~$300/month puts it out of my range. • Check if serial port is listening

  I have an Arduino sending and receiving instructions with a python script via a serial port. The Arduino takes a button state and when it is pushed it will send a message via serial to a python script and await a response. (via Serial.available()). Works well enough. However if the python script has crashed for whatever reason (ideally it will run in the background, so cant be easily checked) the Arduino will wait forever and even on a script restart will we unavailable. Is there a way for my Arduino to check if there is something listening on the serial port? (and alert me with flashing lights etc if not) or is this not how serial works? Worst case I guess I could use a timeout, although that is not ideal.

  i have the submit form with multiple file upload control(java script).when i will run the code is working well and showing me the form proper.i will fill the information properly and also file upload is working ok.but on clicking of Submit button the Mozilla shows me the "The connection was reset" exception.but if i was not upload any file by using the file upload then it never shows me any error.it save in database properly. i cant understand the problem please anybody help me out.   According to my last question about how to create folder here I find some codes that s.b before write it! looking : (sorry for limitation i cant put codes here) they try to Create a bat file,by oracle outfile text_IO,file_type then they write these statement! body_of_file = 'Net use x: \\address' body_of_file += 'md' || filename body_of_file += 'start '|| file name then open bat file and write inside it! then they call it by HOST!!!! like: Host('cmd /c \\address\.x.bat host_folder'|| sysdate); but they can easily and directly by calling HOST! and also I dont know why they code just can in oracle 6i!!!! we use 2 oracle 6i and 10g. please would you help me : 1- why this code dont work in 10g? 2- which way is better?create a batch file and create folder or use HOST for run each command?(in my Idea both is same,How about u?)

• Unkillable console windows

  I'm developing an OpenGL based 2d simulation with GLUT under Visual C++ 2008, sometimes when I have an assert() or unhandled exception and break into the debugger, the GLUT display window closes, but the console window remains open.They just cant be killed!!! They do not show up with Task manager, Process Explorer or any other tool, I cannot find the window handle using the Spy++ tool either. Worst thing is they prevent my system (Windows XP) from shutting down, I have to manually poweroff (and of course I have to run chkdsk on my drives and invariably it finds and fixes minor errors after bad shutdowns) Has anyone come across such an issue?

• Drupal 6 / Views2 Grid style: whole cells link to nodes

  I have a Users page, which is simply a nicely styled grid (HTML table) of users. I'm displaying a few fields for each one, and both the name and the profile picture have been set to link to the user node. What is the best way to change it so that the whole cell (HTML td) links to the user node? Would you have to use javascript? I've looked into modifying the theme of the view (over-riding the Style output e.g. views-view-grid--users.tpl.php), but cant see an elegant way to get the URL of the user node. And I think you would have to use javascript anyway to turn a whole block element into a link.

  I'm trying to do initial caps in actionScript with no loops but now i'm stuck. I wanted to select the first letter or every word then apply uppercase on that letter. Well I got the selection part right, but at a dead end right now, any ideas? • Firewall will not play ball

  I'm running SQL Server 2008 Express on a windows 2012... or at least I'm trying to :) My problem is that I have opened the ports I thought I needed but still I cant manage to connect to the database from Visual Studio. As proof I have a screenshot of my firewall settings: Everything works fine if I turn the firewall off, but who wants that while connected to the internet? So I wonder what the heck is wrong? • JAX-WS returning a complex object?

  Hi, Im pretty new to Java Web Services, but I cant find a good explanation anywhere. I have 2 Java web projects within NetBeans. One as a web service and one as a client for that web service. I have also created my own class called "Person", which has what you'd expect: name, dob, etc. I would like to have a web service method called "ListPeople()" that would return an array of "Person" objects. Do I need to have that class in both projects? Should I be serializing the object first? Should I be using JAXB, if so, where do I start? Sorry for the n00b questions, but im confused. What is the normal way of accomplishing this? Thanks in advance

  Hi all, Im new on this project and am going to write, what i thought was a simple thing. A recursive function that writes nested xml elements in x levels (denoted by a variable). So far I have come up with this, but keeps getting a compile error.   I need to use Hidden variables in my JSP for session tracking. this is the code: <input type="hidden" name="REQ_TOKEN" value="<%=session.getAttribute("SESN_TOKEN").toString()%>" /> i am using this to compare the request token with session token, so only when both are equal i will evaluate that request otherwise i will throw an error. Now the problem is, when i place this code inside <form></form> tags, it is working fine. Unfortunately there are some JSPs in my application where we dont have tag(I know that sounds weird!). where can i place my code so that it will work? Cant i use Hidden variables without FORM tag???

• Log4cxx sample program and steps to compile

  Hi guys Hoping someone can help out.. I've been scouring the net for a simple how-to to get a good log4cxx program working, with steps on setting up the libraries, dependants, directives, library paths etc etc.. as of yet i've found a lot of valuable but disjointed information.. trying to pull it all together has been a bit of a nightmare, so i'm reaching out and wondering if any kind soul knows of, or could put together a simple how-to, to get a standard win32 console app running with either static or dynamically linked release mode log4cxx.. I have win32 binary releases of the libraries, and thanks to a very cool dude from "Must a blog have a name" I have a win32 project which can build log4cxx.. i just cant bloody use it :) It would be really helpful to me, and probably to others, to be able to refer to something like this and not 20 different pages, with different lists of libraries needed to download and install.. :) Here's hoping Thanks guys J

• HSQLDB Constraint Violation & SQL Query Log for an HSQLDB in-memory setup

  We have a setup where we are using an embedded HSQLDB for backing Hibernate/JPA unit tests in java, and we are using the in-memory database mode since we simply want the database thrown away after the test run. My problem is that one of the tests is failing due to a constraint violation and HSQLDB lists the column as SYS_CT_286, and the query that appears in the log is the prepared statement where I cant see what the actual parameter values are (they are replaced by '?'). My questions are: 1- Is there a way in which I can see the actual SQL being executed? (like the mysql query log for example?). 2- What exactly is SYS_CT_286? it is not one of my columns, is it a generated column? is there something obvious that may be wrong with it? Thanks.

• Ipad, closed environment and threat to privacy

  I had an unusual question about ipad, Since ipad environment is closed and does not allows installation of diagnostic and security related programs. How can then we be sure that any of the software installed on ipad is not infringing upon our privacy by doing stuff such as homing back information, etc. We cant install a packet tracer or any other software to check for attacks on privacy. Also given Apples poor track record (the safari browser was broken in one day), I don't think trusting apple solely would be a good idea. This might not seem to be a big issue but for business users it would be a significant concern.
