This exception is thrown no matter what character I use, so long as it is present within the words I am reading in. I am aware that it is probably a super simple fix, but I just really need another set of eyes to see it. Thanks in advance.

  • Small, editable table of strings. Which Forms control do I want? (.NET)

    I have a small array of structs, each struct has three fields, all strings. I want to display these structs in a grid, let the user edit the strings a la Excel, and then retrieve the edited strings of course. Which WinForms control is best for this? Tried a DataGridView but setting the DataSource to the array of structs doesn't seem to work. There are myriad controls with similar names but I can't figure out what does what. All the examples I've found are geared toward using a database as the data source--I just have a simple array.

    I'm using Bootstrap and DataTables in my app and I have a default initializer for tables based on class. I can just add the class data-table to the table and it gets instantiated with the default values I want. CGSize size = [footerText sizeWithFont:[footerTextView font] constrainedToSize:CGSizeMake(304.0, 500.0)]; CGRect frame = CGRectMake(8.0, 0.0, size.width, size.height + 24.0); footerTextView.frame = frame; footerTextView.text = footerText; [tableFooterView sizeToFit]; That all works however I can't get the UITableView to resize around the resized footer. If I set the original size of the footer for any possible text I have a big whitespace in most cases. If I set it smaller then I can push the view up to see the whole text but it bounces back on release. I've tried [[self view] sizeToFit]; but that doesn't work. Can anyone fill me in?   • How to make a table view which is not the full width of the screen?

    For some strange reason, UITableView resizes my cells to 320 width no matter how I set the frame for the UITableView object. Even if I go in later and resize the cell back to 250, UITableView seems to resize it again to 320 some time. Is there some property or method that must be set / called additionally to get that right? However, I can add my contents in a way that it looks like 250 width, but my whole layouting code is a big mess since I can't rely on the cell frame width which is "wrong". Also it seems like a big waste of memory since the bitmaps in the layer trees are nonsenseless 320 width instead of 250, even though the frame of the UITableView is not 320 width.

    I have a simple one dimmensional array of integer values that represent a physical set of part values I have to work with. I then calculate and ideal value mathematically. How could I write an efficient search algorithm that will find the smallest abosulte difference from my ideal value in the array? The array is predetermined and constant, so it can be sorted however I need. Example Lookup array: 100, 152, 256, 282, 300 Searching for an ideal value of 125 would find 100 in the array, whereas 127 would find 152. The actual lookup array will be about 250 items long and never change.

    I'm in the need to convert excel macros into jquery code, the function is that you need to click on the plus sign to unfold and show the sub rows to modify column2 if you want to type values in column2, the other columns can't be modified. You can't straightly modify values of column2 until you unfold the parent row, because there are many sub rows belonging to parent row,say Car. The values of Name, Model, Code are existing, they are master data, no need to type or modify. please see the snapshot at folded and unfolded, besides modifying values in sub rows , I need to be able to know which sub rows are modified and values of those rows.Initially the editable columns are blank. And when you click on the minus sign, the sub rows can be folded again,but the modified values won't be lost,they are still there when unfolded again. One last requirement is it's cross devices, the code must run well on pc,mobile phone,pad. Is that possible? Many thanks.

    I have two tables : Product and ProductRateDetail. The parent table is Product. I have duplicate records in the product table which need to be unique. There are entries in the ProductRateDetail table which correspond to duplicate records in the product table. Somehow I need to update the ProductRateDetail table to match the original (older) ID from the Product table and then remove the duplicates from the product table. I would do this manually but there are 100's of records.   • Why cant I specify the width and height of a cell in an html table?

    I am using CSS but for the sake of quick testing i am just using a style tag. This is the code I am trying to implement: echo "<td style='height=10px; width=10px;'>"; it makes sure that the max width of the cell is 10px however the height overflows with the text so becomes very large (high). what I am trying to achieve is any information that is in that cell more than 30 charcters I want to hide so you cant see it. (I know 30 charaters is more than 10px but I am just playing to see if it worked!) Thanks guys.

    I am getting this error while I am trying to load the data into my table view. Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInternalInconsistencyException', reason: 'Invalid update: invalid number of rows in section 0. The number of rows contained in an existing section after the update (73) must be equal to the number of rows contained in that section before the update (71), plus or minus the number of rows inserted or deleted from that section (3 inserted, 0 deleted). What could be wrong?     Hi, hoping to get some help with this query, I've worked at it for a while now and can't get it any faster: SELECT date, count(id) as 'visits' FROM dates LEFT OUTER JOIN visits ON (dates.date = DATE(visits.start) and account_id = 40 ) WHERE date >= '2010-12-13' AND date <= '2011-1-13' GROUP BY date ORDER BY date ASC That query takes about 8 seconds to run. I've added indexes on dates.date, visits.start, visits.account_id and visits.start+visits.account_id and can't get it to run any faster. What do you think is best - from maintenance and performance point of view - to split these huge tables in smaller entities or to keep the tables the way they are ? We are using an ORM tools, so we don't need to write custom request.
