• Installation of SAP Web Application Server 6.20 fails

  I tried installing a trial version of SAP NetWeaver 7.1 on Windows Vista on my laptop but I couldn't succeed. Then I tried installing SAP Web Application Server 6.20. The installation goes all the way to 91%, at which point I get some errors and the installation stops. Does anyone have any experience with this?   One of client of our web service uses axis2 application that sends HTTP 1.1 query with: Transfer-Encoding: chunked header. Such query is refused by our Apache 2.2 with message: <title>411 Length Required</title> </head><body> <h1>Length Required</h1> <p>A request of the requested method POST requires a valid Content-length.<br /> In Apache logs there is: [Mon May 17 09:06:04 2010] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] chunked Transfer-Encoding forbidden: /app/webservices/soap.hdb When I send such message without Transfer-Encoding: chunked and with Content-Length all works ok. I searched how to solve this problem, but I found only how to disable Transfer-Encoding: chunked on client side. Is there any way to do it on server side?

The field limit is set to VARCHAR(1500) and the validation on this field won't allow anything past bigger than 1200 with HTML, 800 without. The real kicker is that if I take this sql string and execute it via the command line, it works fine - so I can't for the life of me figure out what's wrong. I've tried extending the server parameters i.e. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1964554/unexpected-connection-reset-a-php-or-an-apache-issue So, in a nutshell, I'm stumped. Any ideas?

I want to be able to authenticate users against Windows ActiveDirectory (2008 R2) and the users file, because some of my co-workers are not listed in AD. We use the freeradius server to authenticate WLAN users. • When I log on to my company desktop, I log on to a domain. How is this domain name installed?

  Hi, When I have to work on my machine in company, I have noticed that I log on to a domain (named on the basis of company name) and not really on that computer. From, what I understand, this has a few advantages, the primary being that I just need one password for the domain and can work through any of the machines in company. My questions are : What software on desktop/network have to be installed so that the desktop recognizes and gives me option of logging into a domain. I would guess that a software can be installed on desktop, and there we can configure the IP address of domain server of company and port number, which handles authentication. Is this correct? This takes me to another question that how are softwares installed on end machines in a company. Going to each machine physically and installing looks very unweildy from administrator point of view. An obvious solution would be to install softwares (and updates) over network. My question on this are: What protocols,keywords come into picture when administrator installs OS,softwares,updates from his administrator machine to end machine through network. Thanks,

• How to deny the web access to some files?

  I need to do an operation a bit strange. First, i run on Debian, apache2 (which 'runs' as user www-data) So, I have simple text file with .txt ot .ini, or whatever extension, doesnt matter. These files are located in subfolders with a structure like this: www.example.com/folder1/car/foobar.txt www.example.com/folder1/cycle/foobar.txt www.example.com/folder1/fish/foobar.txt www.example.com/folder1/fruit/foobar.txt therefore, the file name always the same, ditto for the 'hierarchy', just change the name of the folder: /folder-name-static/folder-name-dinamyc/file-name-static.txt What I should do is (I think) relatively simple: I must be able to read that file by programs on the server (python, php for example), but if I try to retrieve the file contents by broswer (digiting the url www.example.com/folder1/car/foobar.txt, or via cUrl, etc..) I must get a forbidden error, or whatever, but not access the file. It would also be nice that even accessing those files via FTP are 'hidden', or anyway couldnt be downloaded (at least that I use with the ftp root and user data) How can I do? I found this online, be put in the file .htaccess: <Files File.txt> Order allow, deny Deny from all </ Files> It seems to work, but only if the file is in the web root (www.example.com / myfile.txt), and not in subfolders. Moreover, the folders in the second level (www.example.com/folder1/fruit/foobar.txt) will be dinamycally created.. I would like to avoid having to change .htaccess file from time to time. It is possible to create a rule, something like that, that goes for all files with given name, which is on www.example.com/folder-name-static/folder-name-dinamyc/file-name-static.txt, where those parts are allways the same, just that one change ? EDIT: As Dave Drager said, i could semplify this keeping those file outside the web accessible directory. I have an OpenVPN server using TAP to allow remote workers to be put on the same LAN network as the servers. They connect through the WAN IP to the OVPN interface. • Application Event Log keeps getting corrupted

  I recently asked about repairing a corrupt event log, because it seemed to be a one-off event. The event log has since exhibited the same behavior 3 times. We have been trying to find patterns, but so far we have found nothing. The server runs several ASP.NET applications and three scheduled tasks written in .NET. The last modified date of the event log once happened to be the same time as one of the scheduled tasks, but the others have not been. Any suggestions of where to look next or a way we can get any information out of a corrupt evtx file? The server is running critical e-commerce applications, so we want to keep the number of restarts required to a minimum. • Cannot schedule task to run under domain user account other than current user

  On our Win 2008 machines I can't schedule tasks for domain users because the domain name does not resolve to network name but the AD dc name. The "network name" looks like ABCDEFGE-HIJKLM and the "dc" / "name" would look like ABCDEFGE-HIJKLMN. When selecting the domain user account the account qualifier will look like ABCDEFGE-HIJKLMN\task.user. This results in an "invalid account" error. When however keeping the currently logged in user it will display ABCDEFGE-HIJKLM\current.user. Does this behaviour result from the presumable "illegal" domain name? Is there a workaround for this? update I could of course log in as the desired domain account and create the task but since this account is a account used for running services I want to avoid creating a user profile on the machine.

I have 3 VM's each running the TFS Build Host Service 1 has 1 controller and 1 agent 2 have 2 Build Agents each. • Simple (I hope) Excel question about

  I am doing a directory for my neighborhood. We had most of the information from a previous directory. The information was entered: A1 name, B1 address and C1 phone number; B1 name, B2 address, C2 phone number etc. The publisher wants the information in a different format A1 name, A2 address, A3 phone number, A4 blank; A5 name, A6 address, A7 phone number, A8 blank etc... Is there an easy (or heck - a not so easy) way to have Excel change the format of the information without me having to hand type 1300 households information? I will also need to reformat the information a second time into a crisscross. The format for that one is: A1 Street name, A2 Address Number, B2 Resident Name and C2 Phone number.

• Windows 7: Add column to ALL music folders

  In Windows 7 Explorer, when I open a folder containing only music, it's smart enough to show me a custom set of columns (Name, #, Title, Contributing Artists, Album) that make sense for a music folder. However, I also always want to see a Length column. I can right click on the column headers and add the Length column, which is persistent for that folder, but when I go to another music folder, it doesn't have the new Length column. How do I set up Windows so that ALL music folders ALWAYS show me this column?

• Cannot schedule task for domain user account

  On our Win 2008 machines I can't schedule tasks for domain users because the domain name does not resolve to network name but the AD dc name. The "network name" looks like ABCDEFGE-HIJKLM and the "dc" / "name" would look like ABCDEFGE-HIJKLMN. When selecting the domain user account the account qualifier will look like ABCDEFGE-HIJKLMN\task.user. This results in an "invalid account" error. When however keeping the currently logged in user it will display ABCDEFGE-HIJKLM\current.user. Does this behaviour result from the presumable "illegal" domain name? Is there a workaround for this?

• Excel: How do I copy hyperlink address from one column of text to another column with different text?

  I have a spreadsheet where column A displays names in a certain format. There are 200-odd names and each has a different hyperlink (which links to that person's web page). I want to reformat the name order so it is "Surname, Name" rather than "Name Surname" and retain the hyperlink in the newly formatted column. I have achieved "Surname, Name" easily by splitting the names into two columns (using LEFT and RIGHT formulae) - forename and surname - then I have a new column with a formula to return "Surname, Name." However, the hyperlinks are not in that new column and I need them. I don't want to do this manually, for obvious reasons. I cannot find a way of copying just hyperlinks from column A without copying the text from column A. So, effectively, what I need is some sort of macro to take, for example, the hyperlink from A2 and copy it to H2, with H2 still retaining the updated ordering of name. I don't have the knowledge to write this myself, so would appreciate solutions.

• What is the name of the this DOS font? Where and how to add it? Why is there a 1 pixel gap?

  So basically I somehow stepped into this webpage: www.braindamage.vg And the first thing that hit me hard was the lovely DOS fonts, so naturally I wanted to get them into my IDE badly. Opened the html source file and CSS file to find the font name: @font-face { font-family: 'Perfect DOS VGA 437'; src: url('http://www.braindamage.vg/wp-content/themes/braindamage/dosfont.eot'); } @font-face { font-family: 'Perfect DOS VGA 437'; src: url('http://www.braindamage.vg/wp-content/themes/braindamage/dosfont.svg#dos') format("svg"), url('http://www.braindamage.vg/wp-content/themes/braindamage/dosfont.ttf') format ('truetype'); } So I download the font, add it using Control Panel - Fonts. But once I start using it (notepad, MSVS 2008 & MSVS2010) I notice that it looks slightly off: It seems like there's 1 extra pixel between each character. How it should look: What is causing it and how to fix this? Is it the windows XP? (i have disabled font smoothing) Or is there something wrong with the font file?

• Resolve local subdomain on apache for paths within user dir

  On Apache 2.2.x I've activated mod_userdir. I used the default setup, so that http://localhost/~name/ will be connect with ~name/public_html/ and a path within public_html, e.g. ~name/public_html/mySite can be reached through http://localhost/~name/mySite. How can I achieve, that the same path can be reached through http://mySite.name.localhost/? I don't want a manual approach like it is suggested in other SF questions (such as http://serverfault.com/q/133921/53624), but rather want an automatic mapping of all available paths to the corresponding URL. I think, several steps will need to be taken: Change mod_userdir configuration, so that the subdomain of localhost will be connected with all available user names on the machine. The second step would maybe include the usage of mod_rewrite, so that the subsubdomain could be matched to the path within ~name/public_html... What would be your prefered way?

• Wireshark TCP Window Size Value

  I am debugging an application with Wireshark and watching the TCP Window Size value shrink on one side of the communication. If the packet's TCP section shows a "Window size value: 1", does that mean the source's window size is 1 or the destination's window size is 1? I know one side is communicating faster than the other can handle, I just want be sure I know which one it is. 1 192.168.0.1 - 192.168.0.100, Modbus/TCP, Length: 66, Window Size Value: 1 2 192.168.0.100 - 192.168.0.1, TCP, Length: 60, Window Size Value: 92 3 192.168.0.100 - 192.168.0.1 TCP, Length: 310, Window Size Value: 92 4 192.168.0.1 - 192.168.0.100 TCP, Length: 54, Window Size Value: 0 So is 192.168.0.1's window size 0 or is it reporting that 192.168.0.100's window is 0?
