  • ASUS EAH5450 Graphics Card (ATI Radeon HD5450 - 1 GB DDR3) on Windows 2003? Anybody got it to work?

    Hi all! I've just bought an ASUS EAH5450 Graphics Card (ATI Radeon HD5450, 1 GB DDR3) for my main system, but I haven't been able to make it work under Windows 2003 (my OS in that system). When I plugged the card, I got a couple of "installing drivers" prompt for things such as "ATI High Definition Audio Device" that got themselves sorted out of the Internet, and then a "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter". The CD that came with the card installs something called "ATI Catalyst Install Manager" and .net 2.0, but no drivers. I've downloaded the latest (WinXP 32bits) drivers from ATI, and the experience is the same: I don't get any drivers installed. My Motherboard is an ASUS A8N-SLI with nVidia nForce 4 chipset (for an Athlon 64X2, somewhat old), but my previous card was an ATi Radeon X700, so it's been working with ATI cards before. On POST, during boot I see a "Display Card" Device (Vendor ID 1002-68F9-0300) and a "Multimedia Device" (1002-AA68-0403), and when viewing the properties of the "Standard VGA", they match the device ID. Any hints? I'd really hate having to get rid of the card, and I'm sure it's not that strange what I'm trying to do...

  • How to install DBD::mysql on OS X Server 10.6?

    Trying to install DBD::mysql on OS X Server 10.6 (mac mini server). But I'm missing the mysql headers apparently. Since mysql is already part of OS X Server 10.6, I would like to NOT install anything else (no fink or darwin ports installs), just whatever's needed to get DBD::mysql installed and working. Do you know how I could do that? Do I have to install the headers somewhere? And if so, where? (again: I don't want to install another version of mysql on the box, want to use the version it came with). Is there a way to install DBD::mysql without compiling any C files?     Ok so I'm making a "simple" web app using the technologies from the topic, recently I found http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flex/articles/flex_hibernate.html so I'm following it and I try to apply it to my app, the only difference being I'm working on a Mac and I'm using MAMP for the database (so no command line for me). The thing is I'm having some trouble with retrieving/connecting to the database. I have the remoting-config.xml, persistance.xml, a News.java class (my Entity), a NewsService.java class, a News.as class - all just like in the tutorial.   • why is my emacs yanking the wrong text?

    running emacs 22... on ubuntu 9.04, fresh install. When I copy a region of text via C-w (clipboard-kill-ring-save) then yank it back with C-y (clipboard-yank) it pastes random stuff, from some other buffer that isn't even open. It was working fine earlier today and I haven't changed my emacs config. Any ideas why this is suddenly happening/ how to fix it? Thanks!

    I have a custom timer that extends android.os.CountDownTimer. I have a test in the test project (standard Android/Eclipse project config) that tests the custom Timer. When I try to run this test, I get a java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: android/os/CountDownTimer at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass1(Native Method) at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass(ClassLoader.java:698) You get the idea. Can I not run code that references android code code in junit test?

  • What are the performance implications of wildcard mapping all requests through IIS 6.0?

    I am interested in using UrlRewriter.NET and noticed in the config page for IIS 6.0 on Win2k3, that they say to map all requests through the ASP.NET ISAPI. That's fine, but I am wondering if anyone has good or bad things to say about this performance wise? Is my web server going to be dragged down to its knees by doing this or will it be more of a small step up in server load? My server currently has room to breathe now, so some performance hit is expected and acceptable.

  • Publishing WCF .NET 3.5 to IIS 6 (Windows Server 2003)

    I've been developing a WCF web service using .NET 3.5 with IIS7 and it works perfectly on my local computer. I tried publishing it to a server running IIS 6 and even though I can view the WSDL in my browser, the client application doesn't seem to be connecting to it correctly. I launched a packet sniffing app (Charles Proxy) and the response for the first message comes back to the client empty (0 bytes). Every message after the first one times out. The WCF service is part of a larger application that uses ASP .NET 3.5. That application has been working fine on IIS 6 for awhile now so I think it's something specific to WCF. I also tried throwing an exception in the SVC file to see if it made it that far and the exception never got thrown so I have a feeling it's something more low level that's not working. Any thoughts? Is there anything I need to install on the IIS5 server? If so how am I still able to view the WSDL in my browser?   • Why do I get a NullPointerException when initializing Spring

    Hi guys, I've got a problem running a batch job on my server, whereas it runs fine from Eclipse on my development workstation. I've got my Spring environment set up using Roo, made an entity, and make a batch that does some work, and test it well on my develompent box. I initialize my context and do the work, but when I run my batch on the server, the context isn't initialized properly. When I run this from Eclipse, no problems, but when I deploy it on the server where I want to run it and run it as described above, I get this problem. Because it runs from Eclipse, I believe my config files are all right, but how can I debug what's causing this? Perhaps I have some config errors or a mismatch between the server and the development workstation after all? Or is this a really weird way of saying file not found, and if so, how do I make sure it finds the correct file??   • XCode project compiling

    Hi, I get the chromium source and I am able to compile it fine under MaxOS X. My question is why every time I power off my laptop and then re-open my XCode project and click 'Build and Go (Debug)', XCode recompiles EVERYTHING (even I have not modified any file). Is there any way to config to compile when needed? Thank you for any suggestion.

  • Upgrading Visio 2000 to Visio 2007

    I have Microsoft Visio 2000 SR 1, and recently purchased Microsoft Office Visio Standard 2007 with the understanding (supported by the product info and some other research) that I'd be able to upgrade. However, when I install 2007, it tells me it can't find a previous install of Visio, but... it's right there! Here's the exact message: "Setup can't find a version of Microsoft Office on your computer. If Office is installed on a disk or network share, click the browse button to select the appropriate disk or share... (etc.)" No matter which directory or drive I pick (various Office installs, the old Visio install, various subdirectories) it gives the following message: "The path you have chosen does not point at a qualifying upgradeable product. Click 'Retry' to try again or 'Cancel' to quit setup." Any ideas? This is a legit copy of Visio 2007 (purchased from Amazon) and the copy of Visio 2000 is legit as well. I'm not sure what exactly the installer is looking for that it would consider a "qualifying upgradeable product". A specific file?

    Hi, i've made a service reference from my silverlight app to my local dev server. but now i want to deploy this on the testserver, but how can i change the uri of the dataservice now? all i deploy is a XAP file, and in the asp.net world i was used to change the uri in the web.config, but obviously that isn't present in a silverlight app?

    According to the Spring documentation, By default, the dm Server trace file is called $SERVER_HOME/serviceability/logs/dm-server/log_i.log ... The index i varies from 1 to 4, on a rolling basis, as each log file exceeds 10Mb. I'm aware that the default trace file name can be changed in server.config. Is it possible to change the number of log files that are kept before rolling over and/or the maximum log file size? How?
