• Crash in Reachability API

  I'm using the Reachability sample code provided by Apple to check the network connectivity and get notified of changes (Reachability Sample code). I had a look at some crash locks of my app. It seems that some crashes are due to the Reachability/SystemConfiguration Reachablity API stuff (see below). SCNetworkReachabilityGetFlags is only used in the Reachability class provided by Apple. Or am I misinterpreting the crash log? • Is it possible to drag windows between workspaces when using Compiz?

  When I used Metacity, I could drag windows between workspaces using the small icon view of my workspaces. I recently started using Compiz for all the cool desktop effects, however this drag and drop feature isn't working. I use the cube effect for switching workspaces, but I noticed the wall effect doesn't allow it either. Is this just a missing feature from Compiz or is there a setting somewhere that I can enable it? I know that I can enable dragging windows across edges to the next workspace, and the expose feature to drag windows between workspaces. However, the drag and drop on the icon view is really powerful, and I would love to have it back along with all the great Compiz special effects.

• OS X contains heapsort in stdlib.h which conflicts with heapsort in sort library

  I'm using Ariel Faigon's sort library, found here: http://www.yendor.com/programming/sort/ I was able to get all my code working on Linux, but unfortunately, when trying to compile with GCC on Mac, its default stdlib.h contains another heapsort, which unfortunately results in a conflicting types error. Here's the man page for Apple heapsort: http://developer.apple.com/library/mac/#documentation/Darwin/Reference/ManPages/man3/heapsort.3.html Commenting out the heapsort in the sort library header causes a whole heap of problems. (pardon the pun) I also briefly thought of commenting out my use of stdlib.h, but I use malloc and realloc, so that won't work at all. Any ideas?

  So I have completed my code work. This is first time releasing the app through iTuneStore. Current state of reading Core Data (.sqlite) file is already prefetched (already has information like apple's 'Reciepie' program). Assuming I have successfully released through apple store, and decide to update my application to existing users. Say I have sqlite contents but it contains bit more information than previous SQLite file under same structure. Question 1. Every time update held to the existing user, does it removes previous ones and move new updated application? Question 2. if it is not, then HOW can I append the existing sql value?

  I have a JPanel to which I'd like to add JPEG and PNG images that I generate on the fly. All the examples I've seen so far in the Swing Tutorials, specially in the Swing examples use ImageIcons. I'm generating these images as byte arrays, and they are usually larger than the common icon they use in the examples, at 640x480. Is there any (performance or other) problem in using the ImageIcon class to display an image that size in a JPanel ? What's the usual way of doing it ? How to add an image to a JPanel without using the ImageIcon class ? Edit: A more careful examination of the tutorials and the API shows that you cannot add an ImageIcon directly to a JPanel. Instead, they achieve the same effect by setting the image as an icon of a JLabel. This just doesn't fill right...

• How do I refresh TinyMCE for the code that I add with JavaScript

  Hi, I need to insert code for flash to TinyMCE with JavaScript. If I insert the same code using HTML menu of TinyMCE, it automatically add flash icon to the editor. But if I insert the code using JavaScript, the actual code is inserted but it shows nothing on the screen. One trick I found is toggle TinyMCE to normal textarea and back to TinyMCE. Then, it shows the flash icon. Is there a better way to do that? Thanks. Sam

• Xcode 4.2 how include one project into another one?

  I keep searching, but cannot find a clear and simple explanation on how to include one XCode project, along with all of it's sub-classes into another project. I routinely see stuff like that in sample projects that I download off the web, but do not know how to do this myself. Within XCode, along with .h and .m files, and folders, there's a whole new project, starting with a blue xcode project icon, that is expandable to contain everything within the project. Please, can someone explain to me step by step what do I need to do to add one XCode project into another one? I've seen a ton of one liners like "header search paths", but that does not tell me much. UPDATE: After re-reading the documentation, I realized that the project to include must be dragged ONTO the BLUE project icon of the parent project. Regular sources can be dragged anywhere, but a project must be dragged onto a project. Thank you!

Right off the bat I am a bit swamped by all the docs Apple provides so I was wondering of someone could sketch a workflow for my situation. Before I begin, I browsed some Apple example code and noticed this NIB file - MainWindow.xib - in the Resources folder: This clearly has something to do with internationalization/localization. Could someone please explain how this is created and where in the workflow it happens? My app is fundamentally an imaging app with a few labels that I currently programmatically internationalize using NSLocalizedString(...). If I set all my labels programmatically and wrap all my strings with NSLocalizedString(...) can I completely ignore the NIB issues? Thanks in advance, Doug

• MOSS Faceted Search 3.0

  Hi, Has anyone installed Faceted Search v3.0 for MOSS working with date columns? When I map a column of DateTime type and click the Search BreadCrumb webpart "remove filter" link (next to the edit filter link) an exception is thrown. The search Breadcrumb webpart throws an error when I click the "Remove filter" link (this is the one represented by the broken link icon - next to the "Edit facet" icon). This seems to only occur after clicking the "Remove filter" link for Facets of DateTime type after which it occurs on every instance for all Facets.   I would like to get to DataGridRow Cells property. It's a table of cells in a current DataGrid. But I cannot get access direct from code nor by Reflection: var x = dataGridRow.GetType().GetProperty("Cells") //returns null Is there any way to get this table? And related question - in Watch window (VS2008) regular properties have an icon of a hand pointing on a sheet of paper.   I am trying to write a launchd.plist file for my node server. I am using forever to run my node server. I would like the server to start on boot. I would also like to wait for the mongodb launchd plist to run first. I installed mongobb using homebrew and it came with a launchd.plist already. • Turning Separate iPad/iPhone Targets into Universal App

  I, when I got my hands on the iPad SDK Beta, thought the universal binary would be to much work, so i opted for the separate targets. I realized halfway through making the iPad portion of my app, that making a universal application would be easy as pie. The issue is, I can't use Apple's option to convert my iPhone Target to Universal. The only thing that I would need to do in the Info.plist of the universal application would be to set a different MainWindow. How could I approach the problem? Is there a workaround to get Apple's way to work (maybe by deleting the existing iPad Target)? Is there a good way to do it manually? • MFMailComposerViewController doesn't always display attachments

  I'm attaching a few files to an email to export from the application I've written, namely a .pdf and a .png. I create these by rendering some view to a context and creating an image and a pdf. I can validate that the files are created properly (I can confirm this by looking in my apps sandbox from Finder, and also by sending the email. I receive the files correctly.) The problem I'm getting is that larger files don't have a preview generated for them within the MFMailComposerViewController view (I simply get a blue icon with a question mark). Is there a limitation on file sizes that can be attached in order for preview to function correctly? With small files it works as expected, but if I try and attach a pdf with the following properties: Pages: 1 Dimensions: 2414 x 1452 Size: 307 KB the file is generated correctly, but displays the question mark icon. If there is no way around that, can I remove the attachment preview altogether? Many thanks, Bryn

  Im writing an ajax web app that uses Comet/Long Polling to keep the webpage up to date, and I noticed in Chrome, it treats the page as if its always loading (icon for the tab keeps spinning). I thought this was normal for Google Chrome + Ajax because even Google Wave had this behaviour. Well today I noticed that Google Wave no longer keeps the loading icon spinning, anyone know how they fixed this? • How to automize multiple projects build process by including digital signature of exe in Delphi?

  After building a project group of 2 projects with Delphi (2009) I digitally sign the 2 exes using InstallAware Code signing, an exe that shipped with Delphi 2009. How is it possible to automize the digital signature, so when I build I can also attach digital signature. For digital signing I use a pvk (private key) file and an spc (Sw publisher certificate) file. Subquestion: Moreover I created a project group because I have 2 exes, but they are almost the same, the only thing that changes is the Application icon and the application name (one is ProductOne.dpr, the other is ProductTwo.dpr). In practice I have 2 brands of the same product, I have a single build but activation keys details activate one or the other, anyway now I was asked to change the icon and the filename, and for this I need to build 2 projects, activation key is not enough anymore to distinguish between the 2. Anyway if there is a way to do this from a single project it would be better.

  Hi, I am working with SSRS2005. I have requirement to display total in the footer. We have to display the total of each category. What I used to do is, write expression for all category names and hide those totals that are not having any value in the current selection. Mango Count = sum(iif(fields!Category.Value = “Mango”,0,1)) Apple Count = sum(iif(fields!Category.Value = “Apple”,0,1)) However, in the new requirement, I don’t have the knowledge of categories. • Passing hash as values in hidden_field_tag

  I am trying to pass some filters in my params through a form like so: hidden_field_tag "filters", params[:filters] For some reason the params get changed in the next page. For example, if params[:filters] used to be... "filters"={"name_like_any"=["apple"]} [1] ...it gets changed to... "filters"="{\"name_like_any\"=[\"apple\"]}" [2] note the extra quotations and backslashes in [2] when compared to [1]. Any ideas? I'm attempting to use this with searchlogic for some filtering, but I need it to persist when I change change objects in forms. I would prefer not to have to store it in session.

• Icons in Windows Form Applications (VS2008)

  This is yet another question about .ico files. I have read through many pages trying to figure this out but I am unable to. When I go to Properties - Application of my Windows Form Application there is a place for me to pick the icon for my application. I have made a 32x32 icon and it takes it just fine, but the image is grainy when it is applied to my .exe file, like it is a picture that has been expanded more than it should have. 1.) Why is this? 2.) Is there any .ico file size other than 32x32 than a Windows Form Application can accept? I have tried 48x48 but it doesn't like that. I just want my .exe file to look nice!

• Building MobileVLCKit from git.videolan.org repository on macOsX with XCode

  I would like to make an application for iOS(iPhone and iPad) that can play streaming videos through RTSP protocol (that includes mms). I imagined to achive a specified application using VLC player or libVLC library. On the official vlc git repository (http://git.videolan.org/?p=vlc.git;a=tree) in projects/macosx/framework/ folder there is xcode project MobileVLCKit.xcodeproj for which I assume that is a somewhat usable VLC framework for iOS. Now the problem is that I can't/don't know how to build this project. When I try to build MobileVLCKit.xcodeproj I get an error that says it can't find files inside extras/contrib/hosts/i686-apple-darwin10/ios/ folder. I have looked within that folder (extras/contrib) and managed to create folder (with files) extras/contrib/hosts/i686-apple-darwin10/ with make, but there is no ios folder. So, does anybody knows how to successfully build MobileVLCKit?
