    Wikipedia about DFS Depth-first search (DFS) is an algorithm for traversing or searching a tree, tree structure, or graph. One starts at the root (selecting some node as the root in the graph case) and explores as far as possible along each branch before backtracking. So is BFS? "an algorithm that choose a starting node, checks all nodes -- backtracks --, chooses the shortest path, chose neighbour nodes -- backtracks --, chose the shortest path -- finally finds the optimal path because of traversing each path due to continuos backtracking. Regex, find's pruning -- backtracking? The term backtracking confuseses due to its variety of use. UNIX find's pruning an SO-user explained with backtracking. Regex Buddy uses the term "catastrophic backtracking" if you do not limit the scope of your Regexes. It seems to be too wide umbrella-term. So: how do you define "Backtracking" GRAPH-theoretically? what is "backtracking" in BFS and DFS?

  • IIS URL Rewriting for all Inbound URLs?

    Hopefully a simple question although one I have found impossible to answer myself using the Googles! I have a website on IIS with the URL http://www.contoso.com/ which points to C:\www\public\ There has been a forced directory restructure so now all of the data (Default.aspx, Product.aspx, etc.) that originally resided in C:\www\public\ now resides in C:\www\public\en\ie\ - however, the IIS website document root is still C:\www\public\ So, essentially, I have a lot of inbound links to http://www.contoso.com/Product.aspx?id=1 (etc.) which are now returning 404 errors - the correct link is now http://www.contoso.com/en/ie/Product.aspx?id=1 Please consider that I can make no changes to the directory structure or the IIS document root... so must solve this issue using URL rewriting. Is it possible to capture all requests to contoso.com/* and rewrite them to contoso.com/en/ie/* ??

  • Custom Errors "Could no load type error"

    I am creating ASP.Net MVC application and want to handle errors globally. I have set web.config value as mode=On and defaulRedirect="Error.aspx". I have Error.aspx at two places. One at Views/Shared folder and one at project root folder level. But each time an unhandled error occurs, the error page at root level gets called. How can I make it redirect to the one at Shared folder level? I want to do this becasuse, currently I am getting error as "could not load type System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage" when any error is occuring.     I have the following XML in a string named 'xml': <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?> <Book> <Page> <Text>Blah</Text> </Page> </Book> I'm trying to get the value Blah out of it but I'm having trouble with xml.etree.cElementTree. I've tried the find() and findtext() methods but nothing. Eventually I did this: import xml.etree.cElementTree as ET ... root = ET.fromstring(xml) element = root.getchildren()[0].getchildren()[0] Element now equals the element, which is what I want (for this solution anyway), but how do I get the inner text from it? element.text does not work. Any ideas? PS: I am using Python 2.5 atm. As an extra question: what is a better way to parse xml strings in python?

  • Flex AdvancedDataGrid with Grouping, how do I get objects to appear under first GroupingField if the

    I am using an AdvancedDataGrid with two GroupingFields. The dataProvider has a list of objects with these two field values, but occasionally the second field value can be null. When it loads, the AdvancedDataGrid UI has a root folder (first GroupingField) and some additional subfolders (second GroupingField). This is all good. However, the objects with a null value for the second GroupingField, just get placed in a subfolder with no label. I want the objects with a null second GroupingField value to appear as leaf nodes beneath the root folder (first GroupingField) minus the blank subfolder. A good way to picture this would be a file explorer. Is there a good way to do this? Make the folder icon disappear maybe after expanding this node through actionscript?     Hi, I am getting this error in my terminal when i execute the command above, Deans-MacBook:depot dean$ rake db:create RAILS_ENV='development' (in /Users/dean/src/RailsBook/depot) Couldn't create database for {"username"=>"root", "adapter"=>"mysql", "database"=>"depot_development", "host"=>"localhost", "password"=>nil}, charset: utf8, collation: utf8_unicode_ci (if you set the charset manually, make sure you have a matching collation) In database config file i have the following: development: adapter: mysql database: depot_development username: root password: host: localhost I have the mysql gem installed and now i am unsure on what to do next.     I am getting "too many connections" problem in an Asp .Net Mvc application which get fix when i manually kill process through Mysql v6.56 IDE, But on remote hosting computer where i can't kill process each time how can i fix this error. I have tried making a connection to information_schema DB's PROCESSLIST table but when connection is about to execute command there comes an error "access denied of root@loclahostto information_schema". I also have tried to grant all privileges to root@loclahost but still i am not able to fix this problem. I have been coding the same way from last two years but in this application i am getting this problem i have use close each connection in every method.     I'm trying to use XPath to select the items which have a facet with Location values, but currently my attempts even to just select all items fail: The system happily reports that it found 0 items, then returns (instead the nodes should be processed by a foreach loop).   • JKS, CER, SignCode issue

    Currently, I've got an intresting problem about signing an EXE file using the SignCode tool from Microsoft and a certificate (from GlobalSign)... So, we've bought a new certificate as the current one will expire in short time. The original format is JKS. I exported this certificate from .JKS to .CER so I can install on local machine in the Root Trusted Certificates section. I've installed it and if I open the certmgr.msc I can see it, but if I open the Control Panel - Internet Options - Content - Certificates - Root Trusted Certificates etc then I can't see it... I thought it should be here as well. When I run the signcode.exe tool I get the "unable to open a csp provider with the correct private key" error message. Note! The signcode.exe command is correct, because it works if I test with the old certificate. Please advise. Thank you in advance! Serge

However, if I put www.domain2.com, everything works fine. I don't see any difference between two VirtualHost config block, so I wonder what does make the difference.     I have a page that displays content retrieved from XML with no problems: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <Root> <Fields> <NamePrompt>??</NamePrompt> </Fields> </Root> Page encoding is set to GB18030 and it displays perfectly. However, when I retrieve inputted text from HttpContext.Current.Request.Form that's been entered with double-byte characters, the retrieved string contains unreadable characters. Single-byte characters are fine, obviously. I've tried the following to no avail: byte[] valueBytes = Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(HttpContext.Current.Request.Form["fullName"]); string value = Encoding.UTF8.GetString(valueBytes); I don't see this problem with other double-byte languages like Japanese or Korean. How can I successfully retrieve double-byte characters from a page that's GB18030 encoded?

    I'm using an NSOutlineView with the function - (BOOL)outlineView:(NSOutlineView *)outlineView isGroupItem:(id)item defined so it gives the group row GUI look. When I add a root item, it works fine. When I add an item to root's child array and expand it, it works fine. If I contract the item though, the following error is logged: [NSCFTimer copyWithZone:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance I also get an EXC_BAD_ACCESS error if the app window is deactivated by switching to another app. I used the debugger to try to find where I might have made an error in one of my functions, but the stack trace only shows functions I did not create (RunCurrentEventLoopInMode, CFRunLoopRunSpecific, handleWindowNeedsDisplay, etc.) Does anyone have any idea where my error(s) might be?

I thing schema in pseudocode is more illustrative: from lxml import etree webfile = urllib2.urlopen(url) root = etree.parse(webfile.read(), parser=etree.HTMLParser(recover=True)) txt = my_process_text(etree.tostring(root.xpath('/html/body'), encoding=utf8)) output = etree.Element("out") output.text = txt outputfile.write(etree.tostring(output, encoding=utf8)) So webfile can be in any encoding (lxml should handle this). Outputfile have to be in utf-8. I'm not sure where to use encoding/coding. Is this schema ok? (I cant find good tutorial about lxml and encoding, but I can find many problems with this...)     Hi there, I am having an issue with Zend_Form and your help will be appreciated. in fact I have a class to generate categories as options $categories = My_Util_Category::toHtmlSelect();//for simplicity I removed other lines this code generates <select> <option > root</option> <option> root / children</option> </select> On another hand, I use Zend_Form form to edit categories. The code looks like: $form = My_Form_Category( $data, $selectElements = array() ); which outputs a form, text field, a select box for parent categories and a submit button. How can I get 'select element' from $form, and replace it with row html 'select' generated with $categories any help, or link will be appreciated. Thanks.
