    From the SEO standpoint it is nice to see urls in format which explains what is located on a page Let's have a look on such situation (it is just example) We need to display page about some user and decided to have such url template for that page: /user/{UserId}/{UserCountry}/{UserLogin}. And create for this purpose such model public class UserUrlInfo{ public int UserId{get;set;} public string UserCountry{get;set;} public string UserLogin{get;set;} } I want to create controller method where I pass UserUrlInfo object but not all required fields. Classic controller method for url template shown above is following public ActionResult Index(int UserId, string UserCountry, string UserLogin){ return View(); } and we need to call it like that Html.ActionLink<UserController>(x=>Index(user.UserId, user.UserCountry, user.UserLogin), "See user page") I want to create such controller method public ActionResult Index(UserUrlInfo userInfo){ return View(); } and call it like that: Html.ActionLink<UserController>(x=>Index(user), "See user page") Actually I works when we add one more route and point it to the same controller method, so routing will be: /user/{userInfo} /user/{UserId}/{UserCountry}/{UserLogin} In this situation routing engine gets string method of our model (need to override it) and it works ALMOST always. But sometimes it fails and show url like /page/?userInfo=/US/John So my workaround does not always work properly. Does anybody know how to work with urls in such way?

    I have implemented the Ajax Autocomplete feature in my application using a web service file that querys my database and it works great. One problem I am having is allowing the user to see the item's name, as that's what they are typing in the textbox, but when they select it, it saves the item's ID number instead of the actual name. I want it to behave much like a dropdown list, where I can specify what is seen and entered vs. what is actually saved in the database (in this case, the product ID instead of it's name.)     I've searched around a lot, and honed this problem down to this case: I'm using the PRG pattern, pragmatically I'm using the same DTO for my post/get actions. It looks like when I have the dto with the data annotation attributes in the get action parameter list, the validation is always displaying errors, every time on initial page load. In some cases this could be desired behavior if you put asterisks in the error message, but how do I get rid of it? Thanks in advance.

As far as I know, the runtime should parse the app.config file before looking for an assembly in the client app directory. The unhandled exception (wrapped for readability) is: Unhandled Exception: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'file:///C:\Users\djpiter\Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\70536\Chapter9\bin\Debug\AssemblyPrivate.exe' or one of its dependencies.     In my Windows Mobile .NET application I have a simple array of object with the data I want to display in my DataGrid. To do this, I simply call: myDataGrid.DataSource = myArray; This works, but I have a problem with it: it uses all properties as columns and uses the names of the properties as the column headers. I can't figure out how to customize two things: Select which subset of properties should be displayed as columns (say I have an ID, Name and Value property, I'd only want to show Name and Value); Rename the column headers to make more sense (for example if the property is called ID display a column header saying "Number"). Is this possible at all? As mentioned this is in a Windows Mobile .NET (version 2) application.

    I have a web form in SPARK which allow the editing of a Facility class that contains Rooms. When editing the Facility all the Rooms are listed for editing too. The form works fine for editing, but I would like to include a button "Add Room" that adds a new blank room below the existing ones. Any idea how this is accomplished? Hi, An interaction designer employed by the client I am currently working for produced some mock-ups, and now it is my job to determine the best way of implementing the charts included therein. After looking at the options I am aware of and was able to find doing some simple Google searches, I have narrowed it down to using either ComponentArt, Dundas Charts or Infragistics, simply because from what I can see of their demos, they have certain features I believe I will need to get things done. Here are the pictures from the mock-ups - ideally I need one piece of software that will cover all of these: This chart seems to be simple enough. Notice the arbitrary spacing between the years - not yet sure if this will be a sticking-point for the client or not. I don't know that I have ever seen a chart like this one - it combines the previous chart with some additional data. Here is the same chart, only this time illustrating what happens when a user mouses-over or clicks on an annotation within the chart. They want the nice styling within the pop-up, so the pop-up needs to be something like an iframe or similar. Any ideas or recommendations would be appreciated, I haven't used charting controls in years, so I am at a bit of a loss and the client wants an estimate soon. Thank you!

Instead, it appears that the form is submitting by a post request.   • Best way to run remote VBScript in ASP.net? WMI or PsExec?

    I am doing some research to find out the best and most efficient method for this. I will need to execute remote scripts on a number of Window Servers/Computers (while we are building them). I have a web application that is going to automate this task, I currently have my prototype working to use PsExec to execute remote scripts. This requires PsExec to be installed on the system. A colleague suggested I should use WMI for this. I did some research in WMI and I couldn't find what I'm looking for. I want to either upload the script to the server and execute it and read the results, or already have the script on the server and execute it and read the results. I would prefer the first option though! Which is more ideal, PsExec or WMI? For reference, this is my prototype PsExec code.     Our requirement is being able to integrate our DLLs with ClickOnce. Dotfuscator does the obfuscation job nicely but the obfuscated DLLs cannot be deployed with ClickOnce on customer side. On our side, we can handle it perfectly. Moreover, the obfuscated assemblies sometime crashes our .NET CF app. It turns out to a solution that creates a temporary source and obfuscates it before compiling with VS. This ensures that the compiled assembly can be integrated with ClickOnce and fully compatible with .NET CF. What is the best tool to obfuscate C# SOURCE CODE (not assemblies)?

    With a customer web site we currently experiences performance problems. While analyzing the problem we found an unexpected amount of of 112 "Memory Hard Faults" per minute. Does anybody can interpret the meaning of this value? Does this happen, when memory swapping is necessary - so the root cause is not sufficient memory?
