• WLI domain with 3 servers - issues on JPD process startup

  Hi there. I'm currently working on a clustered WLI environment which comprehends 3 servers: 1 admin server ("AdminServer") and 2 managed servers ("mn1" and "mn2") grouped as a cluster, as follows: Architecture diagram: http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/4112/clusterdiagram.jpg I've developed a JPD process to execute some scheduled tasks, invoked using a Message Broker. I've deployed this project into a single-server WLI domain (with AdminServer only) and it works as expected: the JPD process is invoked (I've configured a Timer Event Generator instance to start it up). Message broker: http://img532.imageshack.us/img532/1443/wlimessagebroker.jpg Timer event generator: http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/7358/wlitimereventgenerator.jpg In order to achieve fail-over and load-balancing capabilities, I'm currently trying to deploy this JPD process into this clustered WLI environment. Although, I'm having some issues with this, as I cannot get it to work properly, even if it still works. Here is a screenshot of the "WLI Process Instance Monitor" (with AdminServer and mn1 instances up and running): http://img710.imageshack.us/img710/8477/wliprocessinstancemonit.jpg According to this screen the process seems to be running, as it shows in this instance monitor screen. However, I don't see any output coming out neither at AdminServer console or mn1 console. • Stored procedure execution problem

  Iam implementing entity spaces in C# application and was able to execute queries such as the below one successfully. coll.query.where(coll.prodlineid.equal("id") if( coll.query.load()) However I need to replace all these queries in the code with Stored procedures. For this I used: coll.Load(esQuerytype.storedprocedure, "testproc", param) At this point, Iam getting error as 'EntitySpaces.Core.esEntityCollection.Load(EntitySpaces.DynamicQuery.esQueryType, string, params object[])' is inaccessible due to its protection level esEntityCollection is a metadata file, so I could not change the access modifier there from protected to public. Help:-)

• Timer in a Windows service - not really working?

  I have a Windows NT Service in C# which basically wakes up every x seconds, checks to see if any mail notifications need to be sent out, and then goes back to sleep. I can't seem to really figure it out..... have I picked the wrong timer (System.Threading.Timer) ? There's at least 3 Timer classes in .NET - why?? :-)

• Synthesized property of a protocol not seeing superclass' ivar

  I have a situation where my subclass is not seeing the superclass' instance variable x. The ivar is obviously @protected by default, so why do I get a compiler error "x undeclared"? - (CGSize)hitSize { // Compiler error return size; } EDIT: hitSize is a property of a protocol my subclass is conforming to. The problem was that I had hitSize @synthesized, which was the culprit. The question then is why can't the synthesized getter see the ivar?

Failed to generate a user instance of SQL Server due to failure in retrieving the user's local application data path. Please make sure the user has a local user profile on the computer. The connection will be closed. In summary: The error is hit after the page is redirected, so the first iteration is executing as expected (so permissions on the database are correct, user profiles etc) shortly after the redirect when it filters the database query for the possible domain/subdomain of current redirected page, it errors out.

• CellTable + AsyncListViewAdapter<T>, stuck at 'loading' when paging

  Hi I'm trying to make CellTable, AsyncListViewAdapter<T> and SimplePager<T> working together. I managed to display my data, but whenever I click either "go to start" or "go to end" button I get that 'loading' indicator which stays there till the end of days. ( AsyncListViewAdapter<T>.onRangeChanged doesn't even get called this time.) As I have only single row in my data those two buttons should be (and appear to be) disabled. I went through the code-snippets in this thread, but I can't see nothing suspicions in what I've been doing. Is there some obvious answer to a rookie mistake?   I'm Trying to save data from Json into SQLite. For now I keep the data from Json into HashMap. I already search it, and there's said use the ContentValues. But I still don't get it how to use it. • Why an object declared in method is subject to garbage collection before the method returns?

  Consider an object declared in a method: public void foo() { final Object obj = new Object(); // A long run job that consumes tons of memory and // triggers garbage collection } Will obj be subject to garbage collection before foo() returns? UPDATE: Previously I thought obj is not subject to garbage collection until foo() returns. However, today I find myself wrong. I have spend several hours in fixing a bug and finally found the problem is caused by obj garbage collected! Can anyone explain why this happens? And if I want obj to be pinned how to achieve it?   We have a scenario of generating unique key for every single row in a file. we have a timestamp column but the are multiple rows available for a same timestamp in few scenarios. We decided unique values to be timestamp appended with their respective count as mentioned in the below program. Mapper will just emit the timestamp as key and the entire row as its value, and in reducer the key is generated.
