When I try accessing the domain without www, I get instantly redirected to www.domain.name, as the Firebug Net console screenshot below displays http://pokit.etf.ba/upload/pokit141661fa46b11782745bb974d5140004.png What I need to know is; which are the most often reasons for this? It would be great if I could post my hardware list and get some review & recommendation for the hardware selections I've made. Do you know of any website / forum that does that? Thank you, Maxim. p.s. To whom it may concern, the work in progress hardware list is here http://bit.ly/9zBU2y

  • VMpalyer: host keyboard layout on guest?

    - by TheDeeno
I use the dvorak keyboard layout on windows 7. Also, I have a bunch of custom keys mapped using autohotkey. I'm curious, is it possible to have the guest only receive the keyboard events produced by the host? I don't really know how the host communicates keyboard strokes to guests so I don't know how to enable this or if it's possible. Thoughts? Host OS: Win7 x64 Guest: Unbuntu 9.10 x64

  • Looking for speech-to-text tool (convert .wav to text)

    - by David
I have the ability to get .wav files of voice mails emailed to me, but sometimes I'll be sitting in a meeting and I need to know the content of a message without playing it out loud. Are there any good (and, preferably, free) tools for converting .wav files to text? I know Google Voice has this capability, but I can't determine if it'll work on a file-by-file basis. I realize that this is a difficult research problem, but even an 80% solution might be workable.

Hi guys, I need to build a batch file for Windows 7. This .bat file is just for installing an application. The issue is that I need to know if Windows 7 is 32 bits (and then run a 32 installer) or if it is a Windows 7 64 bits (then run the 64 bits installer). Which command can I use in a batch file to know if Windows 7 is 32 or 64 bits? Thanks in advance!!!

I want Images of different versions of windows 2000, xp, vista. Does anyone where I can download them, or do I need to build them from CD.

  • Tiling Windows on Mac

    - by Roberto Aloi
What is your favourite free Tiling Window Manager for Mac? Open Source would be a plus, but it's not required. NOTE: I know about Expose', but it doesn't "tile" the windows as far as I know (but I would be glad to be corrected).

  • GUI to Change the Login Screen Wallpaper Image on Snow Leopard

    - by lexu
the "standard" login screen background on OSC (Leopard and Snow Leopard) can be modified using these command line incantations: cd /System/Library/CoreServices sudo mv DefaultDesktop.jpg DefaultDesktop_org.jpg sudo cp /path/of/image.jpg DefaultDesktop.jpg I learned that here QUESTION: is there a GUI based utility for people like my wife and daughter? .. they DO want to customize (worse: they want me to do it ), but they DON'T want to learn the terminal ( since I know how). They DO know how to enter an admin's credentials when prompted.

  • What computer history museums need hardware donations?

    - by bencnscp
I have a "TAM" (Twentieth Anniversary Macintosh), that I would like to donate to a museum. (As far as I know, this is the first all-in-one flatscreen desktop...) The Computer History Museum already has several, so I think I would need to find another location. Does anyone know of any other places that exhibits computer hardware that might be interested?

  • What is the maximum memory a process (MySQL) can consume on a 32-bit OS?

    - by mmattax
I have MySQL running on a 32-bit RHEL box. The server itself has 4GB total memory with 2GB allocated to MySQL. I would like to know the max amount of memory I can put in the box and how much of that I can allocate to MySQL. I have heard both 2GB and 4GB as the per-process-limit on a 32-bit OS... Ultimately I'd like to know if I can increase the memory for MySQL without upgrading to a 64-bit OS.

  • Getting a per thread cpu stats

    - by viraptor
I'm interested in the current usage of cpu - precisely cpu% and wait% - for each thread in a specific application. Is it possible to get that information from somewhere? I know that top can split information per real thread (ones with pid), but it doesn't show the system/user/wait cpu usage split for each of them. I would also like some way to log that info. Do you know any apps (or apis) that can do that?

  • Can I get a more portable receiver for my Logitech wireless mouse?

    - by joshcomley
Hi there, I have a Logitech Trackman mouse, which I love and would like to take with me on my travels. However, the receiver for this thing is highly unportable (for use on a train, for example). I know you can get tiny wireless receivers like on this mouse. Is there any way to use a smaller third party receiver with my Logitech mouse, or does anyone know of a Logitech accessory or something like that which I could use? Thanks!

  • How to I sniff this from iTunes?

    - by Alex
If you have used Firebug, you know that you can see the "AJAX" requests back and forth. And you can see the headers sent. I would like the same thing. Except, I would like to sniff iTunes. I want to know the REST API that iTunes uses to talk to the cloud. As well as the user-agent and headers sent.
