  • How can we set authorization for a whole area in ASP.NET MVC?

    I've an Admin area and I want only Admins to enter the area. I considered adding the Authorized attribute to every controller in the Admin area. Isn't there an elegant solution or is this feature not there in the framework itself? EDIT: I'm sorry, I should to have mentioned this before. I'm using a custom AuthorizedAttribute derived from AuthorizeAttribute.

  • Giving event control back to xaml/callee to access check/uncheck

    Hi All, I've scoured the Internet but my search-foo must not work if it's out there cause I just can't find the proper search terms to get me the answer I am looking for. So I turn to the experts here as a last resort to point me in the right direction. What I'm trying to do is create a composite control of a text box and a list box but I want to allow the control consumer to decide what to do when say the checkbox is checked/unchecked and I just can't figure it out... Maybe i'm going about it all wrong. What I've done thus far is to: create a custom control that extends ListBox expose a custom DP named "Text" (for the Text box but it's not the important part) craft the generic.xaml so that the list items have a default ItemTemplate/DataTemplate inside the DataTemplate I'm trying to set the "Checked" or "Unchecked" events expose 'wrapper' events as DPs in the custom control that would get 'set' via the template when instatiated As soon as I try something like the following (inside generic.xaml): <DataTemplate> <...> <CheckBox Checked="{TemplateBinding MyCheckedDP}"/> <...> </DataTemplate> I get runtime exceptions, the designer - vs2010 - pukes out a LONG list of errors that are all very similar and nothing I do can make it work. I went so far as to try using the VisualTreeHelper but no magic combination I could find would work nor would it allow me to traverse the tree because when the OnApplyTemplate method fires the listbox items don't exist yet and aren't in the tree. So hopefully this all makes sense but if not please let me know and I'll edit the post for clarifications. Thanks to all for any pointers or thoughts... Like I said maybe I'm heading about it in the wrong way from the start...     i use netbeans to check out projects from svn repo, then i edit the files and commit the changes. but how should i do to update the live web server content (in /var/www)? should i in my ubuntu server use "svn checkout" and check it out to /var/www or should i use netbeans to check out to a local folder and then upload the files to /var/www with ftp or webdav (and which one of them should i use)?

    Is it possible to navigate an NSTableView's editable cell around the NSTableView using arrow keys and enter/tab? For example, I want to make it feel more like a spreadsheet. The users of this application are expected to edit quite a lot of cells (but not all of them), and I think it would be easier to do so if they didn't have to double-click on each cell.

The reason why I ask is that I hate having 3 or more windows of the same program minimized on my taskbar using the same icon. EDIT: Ok I realised that its not the category but the link that decides which "collection" (folder) a resource belongs too. https://developers.google.com/google-apps/documents-list/#managing_collections_and_their_contents says that each resource has as et of parent links, so I tried changing my code to do set link instead of set category, but this did not work. $folder = "https://docs.google.com/feeds/documents/private/full/folder%3A0wSFA2WHc"; $rel = "http://schemas.google.com/docs/2007#parent"; $linkObj = new Zend_Gdata_App_Extension_Link($folder,$rel,'application/atom+xml', NULL,'Folder Name'); $links = $entry->getLink(); array_push($links,$linkObj); $entry->setLink($links); $return = $docs->updateEntry($entry,$entry->getEditLink()->href); EDIT: SOLVED [nearly] OK Here is how to move/copy, sort of, from one folder to another: simpler than initially thought, but problem is it creates a reference and NOT a move!   • Rails 3.1 text_field form helper and jQuery datepicker date format

    I have a form field in my Rails view like this: <%= f.text_field :date, :class => "datepicker" %> A javascript function converts all input fields of that class to a jQueryUI datepicker. $(".datepicker").datepicker({ dateFormat : "dd MM yy", buttonImageOnly : true, buttonImage : "<%= asset_path('iconDatePicker.gif') %>", showOn : "both", changeMonth : true, changeYear : true, yearRange : "c-20:c+5" }) So far so good. I can edit the record and it persists the date correctly all the way to the DB. My problem is when I want to edit the record again. When the form is pre-populated from the record it displays in 'yyyy-mm-dd' format. The javascript only formats dates which are selected in the datepicker control. Is there any way I can format the date retrieved from the database? At which stage can I do this? Thanks, Dany.     I have a standard passwd file & a usermap file - which maps unix name (eg jbloggs) with AD account name (eg bloggsjoe) in the format: jbloggs bloggsjoe jsmith smithjohn ... etc. How can I edit the passwd file to swap the original unix name with the AD account name so each line of the passwd file has the AD account name instead. Appreciate any help for a perl learner.

    I have a many-to-many relationship between Issues and Scopes in my EF Context. In ASP.NET MVC, I bring up an Edit form that allows the user to edit a particular Issue. At the bottom of the form, is a list of checkboxes that allow them to select which scopes apply to this issue. When editing an issue, it likely will always have some Scopes associated with it already--these boxes will be checked already. However, the user has the opportunity to check more scopes or remove some of the currently checked scopes. My code looked something like this to save just the Issue: using (var edmx = new MayflyEntities()) { Issue issue = new Issue { IssueID = id, TSColumn = formIssue.TSColumn }; edmx.Issues.Attach(issue); UpdateModel(issue); if (ModelState.IsValid) { //if (edmx.SaveChanges() != 1) throw new Exception("Unknown error.   • Sproutcore SC.arrayProxy, where is in the docs?

But this class is not present in the docs!!! and even in google is nowhere to be found! where does it come out from?? EDIT: I discovered that SC.arrayProxy is only in sproutcore 2! I wonder what are the differences from SC.arrayController
