    Hi, I managed to get authentication to work by following the tutorial from this page http://planetcakephp.org/aggregator/items/2604-create-simple-user-authentication-using-cakephp%E2%80%99s-auth-component How do I make sure when I'm in the register page, and the password and confirm password the user supplied doesn't match, the password field will be repopulated with the value the user enter and not the hashed version of it? In many tutorial of Acl component in cakephp i got instruction that add component either in AppController or in all the other controllers which inherits AppController....... but problem is var $components=array('Auth',Acl); when i use the above line in AppConroller i cant use the Auth or Acl component... but when i use the same code in all the child classes it works fine........ what will be the problem thanks in advance any help will be appreciated.

    I basicly want to write a small packet sniffer in perl im using ubuntu 9 im basically looking to sniff all packets on my nic and return data such as source and destination address as well as the data i looked into Net::Write::Layer2 but i could never get it to run as it says it cannot find the required libs and i cannot find the dependents adn that lib is for writeing data and not accepting it ive read that i should use libpcap but no good examples are available i basicly just need to know what lib i should use and ill find a example/tutorial on using said lib Thanks in Advance

    I am using a SQL Server database in my current project. I was watching the MVC Storefront videos (specifically the repository pattern) and I noticed that Rob (the creator of MVC Storefront) used a class called Category and Product, instead of a database and I have notice that using LINQ-SQL or ADO.NET, that a class is generated. Is there an advantage to using a class over a database to store information? Or is it the other way around? Or are they even comparable?

    I was following a video tutorial by Adam Keys about how to make a URL shortener app in Sinatra. The code that is giving me problems is located here http://pastie.org/958644 So when I ran it I got this error: shortener.rb:12: syntax error, unexpected $undefined, expecting $end @@ home I typed it exactly as Adam said but this keeps happening.     Hey, In MonoRail/Active Record if I want to grab all records that have a certain column equal to null, I can do: public static Category[] AllParentCategories() { return (FindAllByProperty("Parent.Id", null)); } However, what if I want to grab all records where that column doesn't equal null? I can't figure out how to do that using this FindAllByProperty method, is there another method that is more flexible or a way to grab records using a linq-like querying language? Thanks, Justin

    I have a WCF service which I am able to connect to from my web application and get data. I now added a web reference to this wcf project to a wsdl file that a shipping company provides. Intention is to get shipping quotes.. I am able to access the objects that are generated from this wsdl file but when I call service.Authenticate("DEMO"); method almost nothing happens. I debug and see the debugger continue to the next lines but there is no change on service parameters and service.isauthorized is null.. I get the list working with static items but I can't get it to work with the json items.     I'm unable to find the .NET FCL built-in concept of precedence to leverage while constructing Expression Trees. Ref System.Linq.Expressions Namespace. Is this something that must be handled manually in code, or is it somehow implicit and I'm not recognizing it, maybe through helper methods or classes? I want to apply it to math operations to ensure 3 + 5 * 10 results in 53 instead of 80.
