  • vim-powerline colors are out of whack in urxvt

    - by komidore64
I have attached two images showing what my vim-powerline looks like. As you can see, something has happened to the colors and I cannot figure out how to fix it. I'm running Fedora 17 on a clean install with i3 (default config) and urxvt. Here is my bashrc: # .bashrc if [[ "$(uname)" != "Darwin" ]]; then # non mac os x # source global bashrc if [[ -f "/etc/bashrc" ]]; then . /etc/bashrc fi export TERM='xterm-256color' # probably shouldn't do this fi # bash prompt with colors # [ <user>@<hostname> <working directory> {current git branch (if you're in a repo)} ] # ==> PS1="\[\e[1;33m\][ \u\[\e[1;37m\]@\[\e[1;32m\]\h\[\e[1;33m\] \W\$(git branch 2> /dev/null | grep -e '\* ' | sed 's/^..\(.*\)/ {\[\e[1;36m\]\1\[\e[1;33m\]}/') ]\[\e[0m\]\n==> " # execute only in Mac OS X if [[ "$(uname)" == 'Darwin' ]]; then # if OS X has a $HOME/bin folder, then add it to PATH if [[ -d "$HOME/bin" ]]; then export PATH="$PATH:$HOME/bin" fi alias ls='ls -G' # ls with colors fi alias ll='ls -lah' # long listing of all files with human readable file sizes alias tree='tree -C' # turns on coloring for tree command alias mkdir='mkdir -p' # create parent directories as needed alias vim='vim -p' # if more than one file, open files in tabs export EDITOR='vim' # super-secret work stuff if [[ -f "$HOME/.workbashrc" ]]; then . $HOME/.workbashrc fi # Add RVM to PATH for scripting if [[ -d "$HOME/.rvm/bin" ]]; then # if installed PATH=$PATH:$HOME/.rvm/bin fi and my Xdefaults: ! • How to set up port forwarding and firewall settings for torrents using Transmsission on Mac OSX 10.5

    - by Liz
I have picked up bits of advice here and there on the internet and got someway through this tortuous exercise (after it took 18 hours to download the first torrent I tried yesterday - magnet-link for a film). Where I have got stuck is with configuring the firewall on the Netgear Router but I am not sure if I have caused the problem myself by something else I have done configuring the Mac System Preferences for Security or Networking. I have been following the sections of these instructions that seem to apply, although they are written for a different OSX version (don't know which one, but the screen shots do not match what I see) and I am not wanting to set up my Mac as a server and attending to the parts that apply to port forwarding for Netgear rather than LinkSys: http://homepage.mac.com/car1son/static_port_fwd_intro.html I have been trying to follow these instructions: Instructions for DG834, DG834G, DG824M, FR114W, FM114P, FR114P, FR328S, FVL328, FVS328, FVS338, FVX538, FWAG114, FWG114P, or FVS318v3 These routers do port forwarding by assigning port numbers to a "service" associated with the application you want to run. "Rules" are set for particular services. Rules block or allow access, based on various conditions such as the time of day and the name of the service. To Create a New Inbound or Outbound Rule 1. Submit the router's address in an Internet browser. (The default is 192.168.0.1). 2. Enter the router's username and password. 3. From the main menu, click Security > Rules. 4. Click Add for inbound or outbound traffic, as appropriate to the application you are planning to run. 5. Select the Service. The services the router knows about are listed in the drop down. If the service you want is not listed, add it as described in the next section. 6. Select the Action, for example ALLOW always. 7. For Send to LAN Server, enter the IP address of the local server. Note that this is also the IP address the computers on your LAN will access. 8. For WAN User choose Any, or limit access to particular IP addresses. 9. For Log selection it is reasonable to turn logs on, especially at the beginning when you are unsure of the result of the changes you are making. Later, you may want to set logs to "Never" for performance reasons. 10. Click Apply. As noted in user manual for some models: * Consider using the Dynamic DNS feature on the Advanced menu, so that external users can find your network when the DHCP lease is renewed by your ISP. * If your own LAN server uses DHCP, and your IPs change on rebooting, consider using the Reserved IP Address feature in the LAN IP menu. To Add a Service for These Routers 1. Click Security > Services > Add Custom Service. 2. Enter any name you choose for the service. 3. Select whether the service is to use TCP or UDP. If you are unsure, select both. 4. Enter the lowest port number used by the service. 5. Enter the highest port number used. If the service uses only one port number, enter the same number. 6. Click Apply. There is no "Security - Rules" submenu in the Netgear page, so I have been trying to access "Security - Firewall Rules". I can access everthing else in the Netgear settings as Admin but I cannot get the "Firewall Rules" section to open up. (I am not 100% sure I will know exactly what to do if and when I do get it opened up!) I haven't managed to find though searching the internet any instructions that would seem to apply specifically to what I am trying to achieve, so would be very grateful if someone could either point me in the right direction or give me some advice directly. Best wishes, Liz

  • How to set properties of a d:DesignInstance in XAML?

    - by Scott Bilas
I'm using the new d:DesignInstance feature of the 4.0 series WPF tools. Works great! Only issue I'm having is: how can I set properties on the instance? Given something like this: <Grid d:DataContext="{d:DesignInstance plugin:SamplePendingChangesViewModel, IsDesignTimeCreatable=True}"/> How can I set properties on the viewmodel, aside from setting them in its default ctor or routing it through some other object initializer? I gave this a try but VS gives errors on compile "d:DataContext was not found": <Grid> <d:DataContext> <d:DesignInstance IsDesignTimeCreatable="True"> <plugin:SamplePendingChangesViewModel ActiveTagIndex="2"/> </d:DesignInstance> </d:DataContext> For the moment I'm going back to using a resource and 'd:DataContext={StaticResource SampleData}', where I can set the properties in the resource. Is there a way to do it via a d:DesignInstance?

  • What is a proper way to pass a parameter to Set-Alias in powershell?

    - by Nick Gorbikoff
Hello. A little background: I use PowerShell on windows xp at work and I set a bunch of useful shortcuts in Microsoft.PowerShell_profile.ps1 in My Documents, trying to emulate Mac environment inspired by Ryan Bates's shortcuts I have things like: Set-Alias rsc Rails-Console function Rails-Console {Invoke-Expression "ruby script/console"} Which works just fine when in command prompt I say: rsc #it calls the proper command However this doesn't work properly Set-Alias rsg Rails-Generate function Rails-Generate {Invoke-Expression "ruby script/generate"} So when I do : rsg model User which is supposed to call ruby script/generate model User all it calls is ruby script/generate #Dumping my params So how would I properly modify my functions to take params I send to functions? Thank you!!

  • How do I set DateTimeStamp on file after uploading to FTP?

    - by Anthony Brien
I have an application that deploys game data files to different gaming consoles. If matching files on the users machine and the console have identical size and dates, they must not be re-deployed. On Xbox, this is easily accomplished because an XDK library used to upload files on the console allows me to set the date on the uploaded files to match the dates on the user's machine. On Ps3 however, I use an FTP service running on the console. I use WebClient.UploadFileAsync to upload files to the console. However, I cannot figure out how I can set the uploaded file's date timestamp, leaving me with only the file size to determine identical files which is unsafe. I was wondering if there was a way to set a file's date timestamp through the WebClient interface?

  • How do you set a variable value from another form?

    - by flavour404
Hi, c# .Net 3.5 visual studio 2008, windows xp I have a main form in a project, given a specific set of circumstances another form is instantiated and displayed to the user: Form frmT = new frmTargetFolder(expName, this); frmT.Show(); As you can see, I am passing a reference to the new form from the current one. My question is, what do I have to do to a method so that it is exposed to the new form, the same for a variable? I have tried defining the functions as public, but I can't seem to access them, also I have written a Get and Set method for a variable, again how do I expose these functions and methods to other forms? public void hit() { MessageBox.Show("hit it"); } bool setOverRide { get { return OverRide; } set { OverRide = value; } } The main form is called frmDataXfer and the form, form which I am trying to call the functions and methods of frmDataXfer is called frmTargetFolder, an instance of which is created in the frmDataXfer and referenced as frmT. Thanks, R.

  • Easiest/Best Way to Learn the x86 Instruction Set?

    - by mudge
I would like to learn the x86 Instruction Set Architecture. I don't meaning learning an assembly for x86. I want to understand the machine code baby. The reason is that I would like to write an assembler for x86. Then I want to write a compiler that compiles to that assembly. I know that there are the Intel manuals and AMD manuals that cover the x86 instruction set. But those are very large and dense. I'm wondering if there is a more approachable (possibly tutorial) approach to learning the x86 instruction set architecture.

  • How do I set up one time password authentication?

    - by scraimer
I have a home network which I access remotely quite a bit. But I'm worried about security. While I do have strong passwords, I'm worried that someone will acquire my password and use it to gain access. I heard about "one time passwords" and even got to use them at my university. We'd just press a button on a device (or run an application on a phone) and get a generated password that would work for the next minute or so. How can I set something like that up? Are there systems that are easy to use and set up? Has anyone played around with an SDK of one of these systems? Where can I get a starter kit from? EDIT: I'm running a mixed Linux and Windows network, and I'm vaguely hoping to use this for authenticating on both operating systems. (No, there's no domain controller, but I can set one up using Samba, I suppose.)

  • How to set AeDebug to get a minidump with the name of the process ?

    - by JC Martin
I have to perform some post mortem debugging on a C++ project. Known way to perform is to set the cdb debugger as a minidump generator and to process the dumps collects afterwards. I read nearly the whole web and I didn't find a solution to produce a minidump with the name of the process that has crashed Is there a way to set AeDebug\Debugger registry variable in such a manner that cdb generates a dump file with the name of the process ? When I encapsulate the call to cdb.exe in a batch file, it starts well but stays blocked on the symbol searching. I must perform a Ctrl+C in order to stop the batch, then the minidump, with the correct process name, is created... but of course I can't set up such a thing in an unattended production environment... Has anybody done that before ?

  • How do I set the next available custom color in the ColorDialog?

    - by Hannah
I'm currently coding in VB.net. A user places the cursor in a table cell and clicks on "Table Background Color" to edit the current background colour. Currently I have been able to detect the current colour (for instance a light blue) and set that colour in the ColorDialog (Colour swatches are correct and RGB values are correct). What I would like to do is enable the user to click on the "Add to Custom Colors" to save the colour. Problem is, it sets the first square in the custom colours area (which happens to already be filled in with another custom colour), rather than finding the next square that is white and set it there instead. Is this possible? If the user selects a new custom colour square when they first load the ColorDialog, the current colour (light blue) disappears and the colour swatches and RGB values are set as white. Thanks

  • Why can't I set the Image Source in WPF app?

    - by elmonty
I'm just learning WPF. I'm using VS 2008. I've added an Image control to my XAML, and I added a GIF file to the project. If I use the XAML Designer's property panel to set the image's Source property, the drop-down list for the Source property contains the following: C:\Sample Project;component/pinHorizontal.gif There are several problems with this: My project, named "Sample Project," is not in the root of my drive. Why is ";component" in there? If I select this value as given, I get the error "Property value is not valid" (yeah, no kidding). If I go into the XAML source and set the Source property manually, like so: The XAML Designer gives me this error: "The file pinHorizontal.gif is not part of the project or its 'Build Action' property is not set to 'Resource'." Why is this task so difficult? How do I assign an image source?

  • Can I set a property on an object that is only declared on the instance type, when I don't know the

    - by WilberBeast
Let me explain. I have a List into which I am adding various ASP.NET controls. I then wish to loop through the list and set a CssClass, however not every Control supports the property CssClass. What I would like to do is test if the underlying instance type supports the CssClass property and set it, but I'm not sure how to do the conversion prior to setting the property since I don't know the type of each Control object. I know that I can use typeof or x.GetType(), but I'm not sure how to use these to convert the controls back to the instance type in order to test for and then set the property. Actually I seem to have solved this, so I thought that I would post the code here for others. foreach (Control c in controlList) { PropertyInfo pi = c.GetType().GetProperty("CssClass"); if (pi != null) pi.SetValue(c, "desired_css_class", null); } I hope that this helps someone else as I has taken me hours to research these 2 lines of code. Cheers Steve

  • How to sift idioms and set phrases apart from other common phrases using NLP techniques?

    - by hippietrail
What techniques exist that can tell the difference betwen plain common phrases such as "to the", "and the" and set phrases and idioms which have their own lexical meanings such as "pick up", "fall in love", "red herring", "dead end"? Are there techniques which are successful even without a dictionary, statistical methods HMMs train on large corpora for instance? Or are there heuristics such as ignoring or weighting down "promiscuous" words which can co-occur with just about any word versus words which occur either alone or in a specific limited set of idiomatic phrases? If there are such heuristics, how do we take into account set phrases and verbal phrases which do incorporate promiscuous words such as "up" in "beat up", "eat up", "sit up", "think up"? UPDATE I've found an interesting paper online: Unsupervised Type and Token Identi?cation of Idiomatic Expressions

  • How can I set the minDate/maxDate for jQueryUI Datepicker using a string?

    - by leo
jQueryUI Datepicker documentation states that the minDate option can be set using "a string in the current dateFormat". So I've tried the following to initialize datepickers: $("input.date").datepicker({ minDate: "01/01/2010", maxDate: "12/31/2010" }); However, this results in my datepicker having a selectable date range that goes from 11/06/2015 to 12/17/2015. I've checked the current dateformat and its mm/dd/yy, which is supposed to mean 2 digits for the month, 2 for the day, and 4 for the year, separated by slashes. I've also tried including dateFormat: "mm/dd/yy" in the inizialization statement. I've also checked the values for minDate and maxDate afterwards and they ARE being set to the values I want: 01/01/2010 and 12/31/2010. I want to be able to set min/maxDate with strings because I'm being passed these values as strings from somewhere else. Maybe someone knows why this happens and how to solve this, or a workaround to achieve this, perphaps changing the format of the date strings or something? Thanks EDIT: Using: jQuery v1.3.2 and jQuery UI v1.7.2

  • How do I get the sequence of numbers in a sorted-set that are between two integers in clojure?

    - by Greg Rogers
Say I have a sorted-set of integers, xs, and I want to retrieve all the integers in xs that are [x, y), ie. between x and y. I can do: (select #(and (>= % x) (< % y)) xs) But this is inefficient - O(n) when it could be O(k log n) where k is the number of integers returned. I am just learning clojure so here is how I would do it in C++: set<int>::iterator first = xs.lower_bound(x); set<int>::iterator last = xs.upper_bound(y); for (; first != last; ++first) // do something with *first Can I do this in clojure?

  • What values does Camera.Parameters.set("picture-size", ?) take?

    - by mobilekid
Hi, my app involves some work with the camera, therefore it needs to handle capturing of images with different resolution. My targets are 1.6 - onwards. Does anyone know what to pass in the value argument for Camera.Parameters.set("picture-size", value) I have look at the Donut release of the Camera app, however, it was not very clear what exactly has been used there as the value is retrieved from the SharedPreferences. // Set picture size parameter. String pictureSize = mPreferences.getString(CameraSettings.KEY_PICTURE_SIZE, getString(R.string.pref_camera_picturesize_default)); mParameters.set(PARM_PICTURE_SIZE, pictureSize); Lookin at the strings.xml I can see that R.string.pref_camera_picturesize_default = 2048x1536, however, I'm not sure what other values can be passed there? Is it any resolution you fancy, or are they only certain resolutions the drivers can handle? Thanks.

  • How do I list all tables in all databases in SQL Server in a single result set?

    - by msorens
I am looking for T-SQL code to list all tables in all databases in SQL Server (at least in SS2005 and SS2008; would be nice to also apply to SS2000). The catch, however, is that I would like a single result set. This precludes the otherwise excellent answer from Pinal Dave: sp_msforeachdb 'select "?" AS db, * from [?].sys.tables' The above stored proc generates one result set per database, which is fine if you are in an IDE like SSMS that can display multiple result sets. However, I want a single result set because I want a query that is essentially a "find" tool: if I add a clause like WHERE tablename like '%accounts' then it would tell me where to find my BillAccounts, ClientAccounts, and VendorAccounts tables regardless of which database they reside in.

  • How Do I Set XML Content-Type in Flex 3?

    - by Laxmidi
Hi, I've got a Flex 3 project. Flex makes an ExternalCall to some Javascript. The Javascript is then turned into XML. But, my xml isn't parsing in IE. It works in all other browsers. I think that the problem is that I haven't set the XML's content-type and IE doesn't like that. So my code looks like: myReturn = '<myXMLReturn>' + myReturn + '</myXMLReturn>'; myReturn = '<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>' + myReturn; xmlReturn = new XML(myReturn); How would I set: header('Content-type: application/xml'); in Actionscript? As I understand it IE requires that the Content-type be set. Is this correct? Thank you. -Laxmidi

  • What is the best way to set default values in ActiveRecord?

    - by ryw
What is the best way to set default value in ActiveRecord? I see a post from Pratik that describes an ugly, complicated chunk of code: http://m.onkey.org/2007/7/24/how-to-set-default-values-in-your-model class Item < ActiveRecord::Base def initialize_with_defaults(attrs = nil, &block) initialize_without_defaults(attrs) do setter = lambda { |key, value| self.send("#{key.to_s}=", value) unless !attrs.nil? && attrs.keys.map(&:to_s).include?(key.to_s) } setter.call('scheduler_type', 'hotseat') yield self if block_given? end end alias_method_chain :initialize, :defaults end YUCK! I have seen the following examples googling around: def initialize super self.status = ACTIVE unless self.status end and def after_initialize return unless new_record? self.status = ACTIVE end I've also seen people put it in their migration, but I'd rather see it defined in the model code. What's the best way to set default value for fields in ActiveRecord model?

  • how to force nhibernate to set the foreign key of the child item?

i have a collection in the mapping: <bag name="Values" cascade="all-delete-orphan" lazy="false" inverse="true"> <key column="[TemplateId]"/> <one-to-many class="MyNamespace.Value, MyLib"/> </bag> the Value object has a foreign key [TemplateId]. both entities has their generator set to "identity". when i call session.Save() for the parent Template object, the Value objects has their [TemplateId] (the foreign key) set to zero, so an SQL exception appears. how do i forse nhibernate to set the FK value for the child items to the value of the inserted parent object?

I can do: (select #(and (>= % x) (< % y)) xs) But this is inefficient - O(n) when it could be O(log n), I expect the number of elements returned to be small. • How can I set my root directory based on a cookie?

    - by Kacey
I'm attempting to use my htaccess file to set my root folder based on a cookie that is set through the website. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find any information on how to do this. Here is what I have tried doing, which I know is incorrect, but it was the best I could find to work with. RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^(www\.)?domain\.(int|com)$ [NC,OR] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/s3i.flat/ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteCond %{HTTP_COOKIE} s=n2014 [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /s3i.flat/$1 RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /s3i.2014/$1 RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^(www\.)?domain\.(int|com)$ [NC] RewriteCond %{HTTP_COOKIE} s=n2014 [NC] RewriteRule ^(/)?$ s3i.flat/ [L] RewriteRule ^(/)?$ s3i.2014/ [L] What I'm trying to do is use the s3i.flat directory if the cookie named s is equal to n2014, and the other directory if the cookie is not set, or does not equal that. Is anyone aware of a way that this can be done? Thanks in advance.
