    I am refering to this article from Jimmy Bogard He is suggesting two projects to organize your ASP.NET MVC solution. Basically, one project for the code and another for the rendering My concern is about global.asax file. Jimmy suggested separating global.asax from global.asax.cs and put them in two differents projects When I did this, I could not compile my solution. I got this error : Could not load type 'MyProject.Web.Global'. Can someone help and show me how to solve this? Thanks

Given I have an ASP.NET site, which uses a [custom] RoleProvider, Is there any way in which I can somehow "refresh" the provider without forcing the user to log out of the site and log back in? I'm looking for something that would be akin to a fictional method Roles.Refresh() Specifically, I am looking at this for if an administrator changes a user's roles, the user sessions could maybe refresh themselves every 10 minutes or something.

    Hi, when I use the asp:Menu the popoutimage is by default enable, I know I can disable it, but I kind of like it. The thing is I modified my background & foreground of the menu and so the popoutimage arrow is blended in the background. Is there a way to change the settings of this? And how should I go about?     Hi. I used asp wizard with updatepanel and google map (it works great). Wizard has 3 steps - all work's great, but when i click browser back button steps changed and i lose all previous information. When i click wizard previouse button - i can see my information. i try this: http://dotnetslackers.com/articles/ajax/HandlingTheBackButtonFromServerCode.aspx but ScriptManager1.IsInAsyncPostBack always is false, and a hasn't hisotry - second problem: i want to get all information in this step Maybe some other solutions??

    Hello, I'm using a rich text editor in my asp.net mvc form (nicedit with a textarea) and when I submit the form on post, because it is not html encoded I get the following message: "A potentially dangerous Request.Form value was detected from the client" . How can I html encode the textarea on post ? I don't want to cancel the validation. Is there a way to use the html.encode helper on submit? Thank you.

    Default ASP.NET MVC project has one MapRoute like routes.MapRoute( "Default", "{controller}/", new { controller = "Home", action = "Index" } ); And urls like these are equivalent: www.mysite.com, w*ww.mysite.com/home*, www.mysite.com/home/index But if I trying to use a MapRoute like routes.MapRoute( "Sitemap", "{contoller}/{action}", new { controller = "Sitemap", action = "ShortMap" } ); and test url www.mysite.com/sitemap I recieve error 404 but I'm expecting that it's work like www.mysite.com/sitemap/shortmap How to write this MapRoute correctly?

    I have deployed my ASP.net MVC site to a shared hosting company. The problem is that now none of the pages except for the home page work. For example if I go to /Account/Register I get a page not found. However, if I go to /Account/Register/Index.aspx then it does work. I have tried modifying the routing to add in that index.aspx but everything I have tried fails.

    does anyone know how to use jquery modal dialog in asp.net pages? http://jqueryui.com/demos/dialog/ I've tried creating a simple aspx page, pasted code from the example (http://jqueryui.com/demos/dialog/), it almost works. The dialog briefly shows up and then disappears. It seems that the page is doing a postback. I'm not sure how to stop it, so that the modal dialog stays up.
