    Hi, I am trying to implement openid authentication using authlogic. I have installed the open_id_authentication in the process but when I entered rake open_id_authentication:db:create --trace I get the following error (in /Users/felix/login) rake aborted!   • How can I obtain the local TCP port and IP Address of my client program?

    Hello! I'm prepping for a simple work project and am trying to familiarize myself with the basics of socket programming in a Unix dev environment. At this point, I have some basic server side code and client side code setup to communicate. Currently, my client code successfully connects to the server code and the server code sends it a test message, then both quit out. Perfect! That's exactly what I wanted to accomplish. Now I'm playing around with the functions used to obtain info about the two environments (server and client). I'd like to obtain the local IP address and dynamically assigned TCP port of the client.   • Problem using unicode in URLs with cgi.PATH_INFO in ColdFusion

    Hi there, My ColdFusion (MX7) site has search functionality which appends the search term to the URL e.g. http://www.example.com/search.cfm/searchterm. The problem I'm running into is this is a multilingual site, so the search term may be in another language e.g. ??????? leading to a search URL such as http://www.example.com/search.cfm/??????? The problem is when I come to retrieve the search term from the URL. I'm using cgi.PATH_INFO to retrieve the path of the search page and the search term and extracting the search term from this e.g. /search.cfm/searchterm however, when unicode characters are used in the search they are converted to question marks e.g. /search.cfm/??????. These appear actual question marks, rather than the browser not being able to format unicode characters, or them being mangled on output. I can't find any information about whether ColdFusion supports unicode in the URL, or how I can go about resolving this and getting hold of the complete URL in some way - does anyone have any ideas?   • How can I emulate Vim's * search in GNU Emacs?

    In Vim the * key in normal mode searches for the word under the cursor. In GNU Emacs the closest native equivalent would be: C-s C-w But that isn't quite the same. It opens up the incremental search mini buffer and copies from the cursor in the current buffer to the end of the word. In Vim you'd search for the whole word, even if you are in the middle of the word when you press *. I've cooked up a bit of elisp to do something similar: (defun find-word-under-cursor (arg) (interactive "p") (if (looking-at "\\<") () (re-search-backward "\\<" (point-min))) (isearch-forward)) That trots backwards to the start of the word before firing up isearch. I've bound it to C-+, which is easy to type on my keyboard and similar to *, so when I type C-+ C-w it copies from the start of the word to the search mini-buffer. However, this still isn't perfect. Ideally it would regexp search for "\<" word "\>" to not show partial matches (searching for the word "bar" shouldn't match "foobar", just "bar" on its own). I tried using search-forward-regexp and concat'ing \ but this doesn't wrap in the file, doesn't highlight matches and is generally pretty lame. An isearch-* function seems the best bet, but these don't behave well when scripted. Any ideas? Can anyone offer any improvements to the bit of elisp? Or is there some other way that I've overlooked?

  • Why is search functionality not working on this page?

    we deliver micro-site content for our client. Our content is injected into a wrapper that is supplied by another developer. To deliver our content we host the wrapper as well as the content. The user can access this at http://fundcentre.newireland.ie/ (try a search for 'bloxham') For the other content that is not ours, the other developer hosts a similar (though slightly different) wrapper and delivers the content. the user accesses this here: http://www.newireland.ie/ (try a search for 'bloxham') The wrapper contains a search box, which does not work for us but it works for the other developer. I took a look at the network traffic with FireBug but it appears that when I do the search from the wrapper that we're hosting, I'm getting a "407 Proxy Access Denied" error. My guess is their proxy has a problem with the fact that the search is being conducted from a page hosted outside the scope of their proxy. It was also suggested that there were javascript errors on the page that were preventing the search from executing but I can't see any. Also, I don't think I'd get as far as the proxy error if that was the case. I don't really understand this stuff too well though, so could somebody with a bit more experience please take a look and maybe shed some light on this for me? Thanks.

  • Subversion: How to make local changes to a file *never* check in, but have it sync with remote anyway?

    I have a file with local changes that should never sync back to the repository because it's for my local installation only. But if that same file is changed in the repo, I want those changes to update my local copy, anyway. At the moment, the file in question always shows up in the list of changes when I want to check-in my changes, and I have to manually exclude it from the check-in. How do I make it so that I can just update, with the above restriction in place? Thanks :)

  • HTML5 Local Storage of audio element source - is it possible?

    Hi stackoverflow experts I've been experimenting with the audio and local storage features of html5 of late and have run into something that has me stumped. I'd like to be able to cache or store the source of the audio element locally to enable speedier and offline playback. The problem is I can't see how this is possible with the current implementation. I have tried the following using webkit: Creating a manifest file to set up local caching but the audio file appears not to be a cacheable item maybe due to the way it is stream or something I have also attempted to use javascript to put an audio object into local storage but the size of the mp3 makes this impossible due to memory issues (i think). I have tried to use the data uri and base64 to use the html as a audio transport that can be cached but again the filesize makes this prohibitive. Also the audio element does not seem to like this in webkit (works fine in mozilla) I have tried several methods of putting the data into the local database store. Again suffering the same issues as the other cases. I'd love to hear any other ideas anyone may have as to how I could achieve my goal of offline playback using caching/local storage in webkit.

    When I remote desktop into a server, I get a loud beep coming out of my local machine whenever certain messageboxes pop up. (An example is to search for something in the Event Log - when the search finds no results, I get a message box accompanied by a loud beep) Annoyingly, the beep still happens even if I have sound turned off locally or the volume right down - it seems to be hooking in to some low level OS-beep mechanism. Any way to turn it off?

    My users are running on windows XP 32bit. normally WSUS automatically download and notify them to select which update want to install in the past they were in local administrator rights,now I reduce them to user rights so now they can't see the yellow notification said updated are available.   • Can prefixing a dash reduce the search engine rating?

    Hi anyone! If I prefix a dash to GUIDs in my URLs on my Web site, in this manner: example.com/some/folders/-35x2ne5r579n32/page-name Will my SEO rating be affected? Background: On my site, people can look up pages by GUID, and by path. For example, both example.com/forum/-3v32nirn32/eat-animals-without-friends and example.com/forum/eat-animals-without-friends could map to the same page. To indicate that 3v32nirn32 is a GUID and not a page name, I thought I could prefix a - and then my webapp would understand. But I wouldn't want my search engine rating to drop. And prefixing a dash in this manner seems weird, so perhaps Googlebot lowers my rating. Hence my question: Do you know if my search engine rating might drop? (Today or in the future?) (I could also e.g. prefix id-, so the URL becomes example.com/forum/id-3v32nirn32, but then people cannot create pages that start with the word "id".) (I think I don't want URLs like this one: example.com/id/some-guid.) Kind regards, Magnus

  • Converting to and from local and world 3D coordinate spaces?

    Hey guys, I've been following a guide I found here (http://knol.google.com/k/matrices-for-3d-applications-view-transformation) on constructing a matrix that will allow me to 3D coordinates to an object's local coordinate space, and back again. I've tried to implement these two matrices using my object's look, side, up and location vectors and it seems to be working for the first three coordinates. I'm a little confused as to what I should expect for the w coordinate. Here are couple of examples from the print outs I've made of the matricies that are constructed.     I've installed git via the instaler and not with terminal with commands, and my $PATH changed, the path to the 'local' git was added the the end of the variable, and my $PATH changed to this: /usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/git/bin However, that doesnt help me, because i the path to Xcode's git comes first. so what I've done is the next, I added this lines to my '.bash_profile': export PATH="/usr/local/git/bin:$PATH" and now my path is the next: /usr/local/git/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/git/bin And I wanted to know how to remove the duplication from the end of the Path so I end up with: /usr/local/git/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin Thanks Ahead!
