I am trying to process with Proguard a MS Windows desktop application (Java 6 SE using the SWT lib provided by Eclipse). And I get the following critical error: Unexpected error while performing partial evaluation: Class = [org/eclipse/swt/widgets/DateTime] Method = [<init>(Lorg/eclipse/swt/widgets/Composite;I)V] Exception = [java.lang.IllegalArgumentException] (Can't find common super class of [java/lang/StringBuffer] and [org/eclipse/swt/internal/win32/TCHAR]) Error: Can't find common super class of [java/lang/StringBuffer] and [org/eclipse/swt/internal/win32/TCHAR] ---------------------------- When I tried to Google the error, it came out only on two spots on the entire web, that astonished me greatly. I am newbie using Proguard and Java code optimization tools at all. Any thoughts and suggestions how to fix this, will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

running VisualStudio CF3.5 apps on WINCE

Hi, I am trying to write a program for a chinese PNA device with wince 5.0. But everytime I write a simple program in VS8 with C# and 'deploy' it to my device it just doesn't run. First it complains about disposing an object call menu, although I don't want an menu but VS8 just creates one for me. If I delete the menu from the form the program gives an exception. I installed a program call MIOPocket on the PNA with has powertoys some games and MS media player. It also creates a directory .net framework 3.5 so I known 3.5 is installed and must be working. But I think I am missing something. I am also not sure what to choice as target device ; windows mobile or WINCE. If I click the .exe file under win7 it works but under wince its a no go. Maybe someone has a clue what is going wrong ?

Slow SQL Sync with Microsoft Sync Framework on Mobile Client

Hello, we are developing an application which uses MS Sync Framework to sync data between Windows CE 6.0 with SQL CE 3.5 SP1 Clients and an SQL 2008 Database. Our major problem is a slow sync time up to 1 minute for 15 tables which are totally empty. Here's a break down of our components: Server: Sql Server 2008 15 tables with activated change tracking WCF Service with endpoint for the mobile sync (uses Sync Framework 2.0) Client (Mobile) Windows CE 6.0 NET Application using Sync Framework for Devices (CTP 1) which starts the sync As I mentioned above, the sync takes up to 1 minute without any changes and empty tables. The mobile device is in its dock. This is a deal breaker for a production environment. Does anybody have any experience in this field? Is there a way to improve things? Thanks for any responses.

Warning while downloading setup.exe builded by visual setup project

I've built installer for my(c#, wpf) application by visual setup project. I share my project over internet by web site. But when I download the file I receive warning(actually looks like terrible error or virus) that the application(setup.exe) can harm my computer and apocalypse will come in near future if I will run it. Yes my installer is not signed by MS certificate, but I saw that other installers of others application also don't have cert but the warning is not shown(for instance installer of notepad++). Do you have any suggestions or solution of my problem?

Passing parameters between interrupt handlers on a Cortex-M3 ...

I'm building a light kernel for a Cortex-M3. From a high priority interrupt I'd like to invoke some code to run in a lower priority interrupt and pass some parameters along. I don't want to use a queue to post work to the lower priority interrupt. I just have a buffer and size to pass to it. In the proramming manual it says that the SVC interrupt handler is synchronous which presumably means that if you invoke it from an interrupt that's a lower priority than SVC's handler it gets called immediately (the upshot of this being that you can pass parameters to it as though it were a function call (a little like the BIOS calls in MS-DOS)). I'd like to do it the other way: passing parameters from a high priority interrupt to a lower priority one (at the moment I'm doing it by leaving the parameters in a fixed location in memory). What's the best way to do this (if at all possible)? Thanks,

I have a error building a .vdproj on msbuild with nant

I'm getting used to using nant for build releases. But I have started to use asp.net MVC, and i choice make the setup for installation with a .vdproj . But, when I call the: < exec program="${dotnet.dir}/msbuild.exe" commandline='"./Wum.sln" /v:q /nologo /p:Configuration=Release' / in nant, my result is: [exec] D:\My Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\Wum\Wum.sln : warning MS B4078: The project file "Wum.Setup\Wum.Setup.vdproj" is not supported by MSBuild and cannot be built. Someone have some clue, or a solution? If I use the devenv, I'll have a problem? Thanks in advance.

XML Deserialization in VB/VBA

I have a set of VBA classes in an MS Access database. I have an xml string with data I want to create new classes with. Other than setting each property individually, is there an easy way to deserialize the XML into my object? What causes this error? I know it is at detach, but what am I doing wrong in my code? Windows shows lots of free memory, so it should not be the computer running out of memory, this error occurs even if I set $maxthreads as low as 10 or possibly even lower.

I am trying to send emails through sendgrid in Zend application. I copy the php code from the sendgrid documentation (smtapi class and swift). I create a template with places that should be substituted with %variable%. Client scalability for large numbers of remote web service calls

Hey Guys, I was wondering if you could share best practices and common mistakes when it comes to making large numbers of time-sensitive web service calls. In my case, I have a SOAP and an XML-RPC based web service to which I'm constantly making calls. I predict that this will soon become an issue as the number of calls per second will grow. On a higher level, I was thinking of batching those calls and submitting those to the web services every 100 ms. Could you share what else works? On a lower level side of the things, I use Apache Xml-Rpc client and standard javax.xml.soap.* packages for my client implementations. SimpleJdbcCall ignoring JdbcTemplate fetch size

We are calling the pl/sql stored procedure through Spring SimpleJdbcCall, the fetchsize set on the JdbcTemplate is being ignored by SimpleJdbcCall. The rowmapper resultset fetch size is set to 10 even though we have set the jdbctemplate fetchsize to 200. Any idea why this happens and how to fix it? Have printed the fetchsize of resultset in the rowmapper in the below code snippet - Once it is 200 and other time it is 10 even though I use the same JdbcTemplate on both occassion. Spring-security not processing pre/post annotations

Trying to get pre/post annotations working with a web application, but for some reason nothing is happening with spring-security. Export ASPNETDB data to another Database.

Hi there. I am developing in Visual Web developer 2008. I have SQLEXPRESS 2005 and SQL Management Studio 2008 installed on my PC. I purchased a Database MS SQL 2008 on DiscountASP.net. Since the host provides only 1 database and my project has 2 database. One is the ASPNETDB that contains the roles and user etc (created using the Website Configuration Wizard) and the other is my database containing data to my website and is named MainDB. As Host allows only 1 database so i exported my ASPNETDB's tables and stored procedures to my MainDB using aspnet_regsql.exe, but the problem is that stored procedures and tables are exported to my MainDB but data is not exported, i mean there are no users in the tables. My Question is how to export everything of ASPNETDB including stored procedures, tables and data to my MainDB??

SQL 2000 Not Supported by .NET Framework Data Provider for SQL Server in VS2010's Server Explorer D

Just tried creating a data connection to a SQL 2000 database in VS2010's Server Explorer using a .NET Framework Data Provider for SQL Server (versus OLE) and found that it didn't work. VS2010 complained that I had to use SQL Server 2005 and up. This used to work in VS2008 (using .NET Framework Data Provider for SQL Server instead of the .NET Framework Data Provider for OLE DB). Is this just a VS2010 restriction or has the ability to connect to SQL 2000 with .NET Framework Data Provider for SQL Server been obsoleted in a post-2.0 version of .NET being used by VS2010? Anyone know why this was done by MS (please don't speculate - I can do that myself ;)?

SQLite INTERSECT gives a huge performance decrease

I have a query that runs in less than 1 ms: SELECT product_to_value.category AS category, features.name AS featurename, featurevalues.name AS valuename FROM product_to_value, features, featurevalues WHERE product_to_value.category IN(:int, :bla, :bla1) AND product_to_value.feature = features.int AND product_to_value.value = featurevalues.int LIMIT 10 However, when I combine it with another query using INTERSECT, the query now takes more than 250ms: SELECT product_to_value.category AS category, features.name AS featurename, featurevalues.name AS valuename FROM product_to_value, features, featurevalues WHERE product_to_value.category IN(:int, :bla, :bla1) AND product_to_value.feature = features.int AND product_to_value.value = featurevalues.int INTERSECT SELECT product_to_value.category AS category, features.name AS featurename, featurevalues.name AS valuename FROM product_to_value, features, featurevalues WHERE product_to_value.category IN(:int, :bla, :bla1) AND product_to_value.feature = features.int AND product_to_value.value = featurevalues.int LIMIT 10 This can't be right. I've tried several index combinations, for example an index on all columns I use in my query, but to no avail. I've tried compound indexes as well, but they only slow things down even more. I have read a few things about SQLite and how it treats indexes. I know SQLite is capable of delivering sick performance, and surely I must be overlooking something.

C# best means to store data locally when offline

I am in the midst of writing a small program (more to experiment with vs 2010 than anything else) Despite being an experiment it has some practical use for our local athletics club. My thought was to access the DB (currently online) to download the current members and store locally on a laptop (this is a MS sql table, used to power the club's website). take the laptop to the event (yes there ARE places that don't have internet coverage), add members to that days race (also a row from a sql table (though no changes would be made to this), record results (new records in 3rd table) Once home, showered and within internet access again, upload/edit the tables as per the race results/member changes etc. So I was thinking i'd do something like write xml files locally with the data, including a field to indicate changes etc? If anyone can point me in a direction i would appreciate it...hell if anyone could tell me if this has a name!!..I'd appreciate it TIA Michael Artz

Python: speed up removal of every n-th element from list.

I'm trying to solve this programming riddle and althought the solution (see code below) works correct, it is too slow for succesful submission. Any pointers as how to make this run faster? (removal of every n-th element from a list)? Or suggestions for a better algorithm to calculate the same; seems I can't think of anything else then brute-force for now... Basically the task at hand is: GIVEN: L = [2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,........] 1. Take the first remaining item in list L (in the general case 'n'). Move it to the 'lucky number list'. Then drop every 'n-th' item from the list. 2. JDBC resultset close

I am doing profiling of my Java application and found some interesting statistics for a jdbc PreparedStatement call: Given below is the environment details: Database: Sybase SQL Anywhere 10.0.1 Driver: com.sybase.jdbc3.jdbc.SybDriver connection pool: c3p0 JRE: 1.6.0_05 The code in question is given below: try { ps = conn.prepareStatement(sql); ps.setDouble(...); rs = ps.executeQuery(); ...... return xyz; } finally { try { if (rs != null) rs.close(); if (ps != null) ps.close(); } catch (SQLException sqlEx) { } } From JProfiler stats, I find that this particular resultspace.close() statement alone takes a large amount of time. It varies from 25 ms to 320s while for other code blocks which are of identical in nature, i find that this takes close to 20 microseconds. Just to be sure, I ran this performance test multiple times and confirmed this data. I am puzzled by this behaviour - Thoughts?
