  • IntellIJ editor doesn't appear

    I updated my IntellIJ install to the latest version (11.1.4) and now the Editor window doesn't appear. Double-clicking on the file, jump-to-source, nothing happens. No error message, it just doesn't appear. If I double-click on an xml layout file the preview window works, but no Editor window. Have installed and reinstalled; went back to an earlier version and it doesn't work there either. I'm at a loss. Any ideas? Update: Editor works if I create a new project.     I'm trying to determine when I've scrolled to the bottom of the page (without using any JS library), but so far, I'm a bit confused over which one of the following to use. The most promising one I've seen is window.scrollY, but even when scrolled to the bottom of the page, it never matches the value of window.innerHeight.   • http server implentation, the page does not show properly

    well, as i am doing a small project of coding an http server. the code is at http://code.google.com/p/reactor/ the current puzzle is when asked to parse a page with java script and css. As an http server it just sends a page (copied from another website) and it parsed inproperly. when a simple html page is been parse , by my firefox, it shows ok, however when parsing a more complex Both SUN and JROCKIT 32 bit JDKs come bundled with "OS-specific Package installer", so no need to install the JDK in advance. There are three different ways of installing Oracle Weblogic Server: Graphical mode Console mode Silent mode For Windows: 1) Graphical mode:Installer: wls_<version>_win32.exe (E.g. wls1036_win32.exe)Steps to Install:1) Log in to the Windows system.2) Go to the directory that contains the installation program.3) Double-click the installation file.(wls1036_win32.exe)As soon as you double-click on the installation file you wold see the following screens: Once the installation preparation is complete you will see the welcome screen:  Click Next If there are existing Middleware Home Directories it will list all of them.   • Ubuntu + Wacom Intuos 4 + MyPaint HELP!

    Please keep in mind I'm not that computer savvy, but I will try any suggestion so please help me out! My tablet will stop working if the USB connection is ever broken, or the Ubuntu software is being updated. Sometimes it will stop working for no reason that I can see. The lights will still be on, but it won't be responsive. It doesn't work again until I restart the laptop with the tablet plugged in, which is grating if you have to do it every 25 min. or so... I'm not sure if the issue is with the port, the tablet/cable or the driver but any suggestions would be very welcome! Also, MyPaint is frequently having hiccups. It seems to save fine but at times it will randomly close down and when I open files they're often empty. They turn into 0Kb files and only contain a single empty layer. Also very grating, considering I lose days of work for no clear reason and without any heads up. Again, I'm not sure if the issue is with the port, the tablet/cable or the driver but any suggestions would be very welcome! We contacted godaddy support and they say, that we only support medium trust level application. So how to convert my application in medium trust level. Do I need to make changes to web.config file.   • In SharePoint, why can I "multiple document upload" a 47,297 byte file, but not a 47,298 byte file?

    It's strange. I can upload a document named 47k.txt that is 47,297 bytes using the "Multiple Document Upload" feature. However, if I add a single character to the end of the text file, the upload fails. Also, if I rename the file to 47k*x*.txt and try to upload it, it fails. This is the error I get in the SharePoint logs: Category: General Event ID: 8jzm Level: High Message: #90012: An error was encountered while processing files on the server. Try uploading one file at a time by using the single upload page. The same error is reported in a message box on the client side. Does anybody know why this would happen?

    I have students who, when asked for PDF, sometimes hand me an OpenOffice document or spreadsheet. file(1) can identify these documents, but I've been unable to discover how to convert them to PDF using the command line. (The man page for ooffice(1) lists an option to print a document but not to convert to PDF.) Google is unhelpful, except for giving me the uneasy feeling that this can't be done without a nifty script in a language I don't know against an API whose documentation I can't find. Can anyone help me solve the problem of converting an OpenDocument to PDF using only the Unix command line?

    Trying to figure out if this (or something similar) is possible. I'm working with a collection of technical documents, all written in DocBook. The documents each contain many acronyms, technical terms and other jargon, so we need to include a glossary with each of them. The ideal situation would be this: I have a central glossary.xml file which contains a glossentry item (or similar) for each such term; then, each of the documents uses that glossary file, but only prints out the terms which appear IN that document. So, each document has its own glossary printed at the end, but the actual glossary entries are stored centrally. Is that doable?

    I have an Excel document that is stored on a SharePoint Server, which I always have open on my computer in read-only mode because I need to refer to it. Every so often, in order to get the latest changes, I have to close down the file and reload it again. Are there any options within Excel 2007 which allow me to simply refresh a document I have open in read-only mode to the latest version on the server? Better still, is there a way where this could be done dynamically, without me having to hit refresh?

  • Why does my excel document have 960,000 empty rows?

    I have an excel document, Office 2007, on a Windows 7 machine (if that part matters any, I'm not sure but just throwing it out there). It is a list of all employee phone numbers. If I need to generate a new page, I can click on page 2 and the table will automatically generate again. The problem is, someone messed it up since it's on a network drive and now shows I have over 960,000 rows of data, when I really don't! I did CTRL+END to see if any data was in the last cell, so I cleared it out, deleted that row and column, but still didn't fix it. It almost seems like it duplicates itself after the deletion. How can I fix this instead of recreating the entire document?

    I have just installed Ubuntu 9.10 server edition on my machine and I wish to run my own personal local server with other users in the same LAN. First, I was wondering what folder directory structure is best for the web root? Should I just use: /var/www/ and start throwing web documents there or should I create a folder elsewhere (maybe the home directory)? Second, in the /var/www/ directory only the root user can create documents in there, however, I wish to have other users be able to create files in the document root and upload them via FTP. Should I change the permissions or the www/ folder? Or again, should I create the document root elsewhere with different permissions? What is the safest way of doing this?

I'm working in Word 2010 and the extension of the document is simple: .doc It was inserted using the Word options: Insert -> Object -> Create from file -> Insert as icon Thank you, I already tried the right click and properties option, but the problem with it, that it shows only the current date for all of the 3 options (created/modified/accessed).     I'm in the process of considering which programming languages I should devote the majority of my coding studies to. I'm a 2nd year CS student, majoring in IT security. What I want to do/work with: Intelligence gathering Relational databases Virus design Snort network IPS Current coding experience (what I'm going to keep): Java - intermediate HTML5 - intermediate SQL (MySQL, Oracle 11g) - basic BASH - basic I'm going to need to learn (at least) one of the following languages in order to be successful in my field. Languages to add (at least 1): Ruby (+Metasploit) C++ (virus design, low-level driver interaction, computationally intensive applications) Python (import ALL the things) My dilemma: If I diversify too broadly, I won't be able to focus on, and improve in a specific niche. Does anyone have any advice as to how I should select a language? What I'm considering + why I'm leaning towards Ruby because of Metasploit support, despite lower efficiency when compared to Python. Any suggestions based on real-world experience? Should I focus on Ruby, Python, or C++? Both Ruby, and Python have been regarded as syntactically similar to Java which my degree is based around. Here’s an example of what I am talking about. I just made a random search on LinkedIn for a contact whose name starts with Sacha. Do note, this is just a walkthrough and I am not publicizing any Sacha. I check the “3rd + Everyone Else” and find a “LinkedIn Member”. On clicking this person’s profile to view, I am presented with the following page, asking me to upgrade. Make a note of this page’s web address and you get the profile id from it. For example, for this contact, the page address is: http://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=868XXX35 The Profile Id for this contact is 868XXX35. Now, open following page where the Profile Id is the same as the one we grabbed a moment earlier. https://touch.www.linkedin.com/?#profile/868XXX35 The mobile page exposes this contact information and you even get the possibility to connect to this person without an introduction mail (InMail). I hope someone from LinkedIn sees and issues a fix for this. I am pretty sure, it’s something that they don’t want the user to do without purchasing an upgrade package.

So Now my web api client is Asp.Net Mvc application.Asp.Net mvc will consume those web apis. Here is the part for whom all explanation is done. How should I manage Security of all 11 self hosted web apis? How should I only authenticated request is coming? If I authenticate user by login and password and then redirect user to appropriate Dashboard designed for the role that user have and load data by consuming web apis. How should I ensure that the request coming for accessing data is authenticated?

  • what are some good interview questions for a position that consists of reviewing code for security vulnerabilities?

    The position is an entry-level position that consists of reading C++ code and identifying lines of code that are vulnerable to buffer overflows, out-of-bounds reads, uncontrolled format strings, and a bunch of other CWE's. We don't expect the average candidate to be knowledgeable in the area of software security nor do we expect him or her to be an expert computer programmer; we just expect them to be able to read the code and correctly identify vulnerabilities. I guess I could ask them the typical interview questions: reverse a string, print a list of prime numbers, etc, but I'm not sure that their ability to write code under pressure (or lack thereof) tells me anything about their ability to read code. Should I instead focus on testing their knowledge of C++? Ask them if they understand what a pointer is and how bitwise operators work? My only concern about asking that kind of question is that I might unfairly weed out people who don't happen to have the knowledge but have the ability to acquire it. After all, it's not like they will be writing a single line of code, and it's not like we are looking only for people who already know C++, since we are willing to train the right candidate. (It is true that I could ask those questions only to those candidates who claim to know C++, but I'd like to give the same "test" to everyone.) Should I just focus on trying to get an idea of their level of intelligence? In other words, should I get them to talk and pay attention to the way they articulate their thoughts, and so on?

Initially I used Axis 1.4.1/Rampart 1.4 but in an attempt to rule out issues relating to WS-* standards compatbility have also created a duplicate environment running Axis 1.5.1/Rampart 1.5. Both envionment use Eclipse 3.5.1 (Galileo)/Tomcat 5.5 for the Java service side. My objective is: WCF-ADFS2-SAML token-Axis2/Rampart Using Kerberos authentication to obtain a SAML token from ADFS2 and propagating this to Rampart.   • How do I dynamically create a document for download in Javascript?

    I'm writing some Javascript code that generates an XML document in the client (via Google Earth plugin). I'd like the user to be able to click a button on the page and be prompted to save that XML to a new file. If I were generating the XML server-side this would be easy, just make the button open the link. But the XML is generated client-side. I've come up with a couple of hacks that half-work, inspired in part by this StackOverflow question. But neither completely work. Neither version ever prompts a user download, it always opens a new window trying to display the XML. Is there a good way to do what I want in client side Javascript? I'd like this to work in today's browsers, ideally Firefox, MSIE 8, and Chrome.
