  I am using SQLite as my db during development, and I want to postpone actually creating a final database until my domains are fully mapped.   Hi All, I have a .NET assembly that needs to be called from a DTS package. There are two options I am considering to get this to work: 1) write a COM-callable wrapper for the .NET assembly and have the VBScript create the COM object to use 2) write a .NET command-line exe that uses that .NET assembly and have the VBScript execute that exe Can anybody comment on the pros/cons of either approach and which is the better way of doing this? • Trying to use VB to automate some queries. Running into what looks like a string problem

  Hi there I'm using MS Access 2003 and I'm trying to execute a few queries at once using VB. When I write out the query in SQL it works fine, but when I try to do it in VB it asks me to "Enter Parameter Value" for DEPA, then DND (which are the first few letters of a two strings I have).   Few of our clients are regularly getting invalid cast exception, with variations i.e. InvalidCastException / ProviderException, but both generating from method call: System.Web.Security.SqlRoleProvider.GetRolesForUser(String username) The other variation is: Exception type: InvalidCastException Exception message: Unable to cast object of type System.Int32 to type System.String. • Is an IQueryable a query or just an object which can be queried?

  I'm kinda confused what the IQueryable interface actually represents. The MSDN documentation for IQueryable says: "Provides functionality to evaluate queries against a specific data source." The documentation for IQueryProvider says: "Defines methods to create and execute queries that are described by an IQueryable object." The name and the documentation summary suggest that it is an object/data store which can be queried. The second quote and the fact the ObjectQuery class from the Entity Framework implements IQueryable suggest it is a query which can be executed. Did I misunderstood something or is it really kinda fuzzy?

  Hi, I am wanting to create a Where statement within my Linq statement, but have hit a bit of a stumbling block. I would like to split a string value, and then search using each array item in the Where clause. In my normal Sql statement I would simply loop through the string array, and build up there Where clause then either pass this to a stored procedure, or just execute the sql string.   Hello, I have to install two libraries CGNS to use it in Fortan, but I don't understand how, the basic instructions are: To compile under MS Windows: configure.bat [options] then gmake if using GNU make, or nmake if using nmake. NOTE: This assumes that the cl compiler is in your path, and that the INCLUDE and LIB environment variables are set to include the directories containing the MSC include files and libraries. If not, you will need to use full path names to cl and link, and define INCLUDE and LIB in make.win32. You may also execute VCVARS32.BAT in the BIN directory of your VC installation to set these up prior to running nmake. so what i did was to: tape configure.bat it creates the rights files I set the news paths and lib, include for the cl.exe and link.exe but now the warning and error messages are about the clui.dll. cl -nologo -I. -Iadf -FoWIN32\cgns_error.obj -c cgns_error.c Cannot load language resource clui.dll what can i do now? • Updating Excel Cell with Non-Numeric Data in C#

  I have a query that is ExcelQuery = "Update [Sheet1$] set CITIZEN_ID = #" + value + " where CITIZEN_ID = " + value; As you can see, I'm essentially just appending a "#" onto the CITIZEN_ID field. value is a int/numeric value. So if I had "256" in the CITIZEN_ID column it would be converted to "#256" When I execute this I get an OleDbException Syntax error in date in query expression so I surrounded part of the query in single quotes like this, ExcelQuery = "Update [Sheet1$] set CITIZEN_ID = '#" + value + "' where CITIZEN_ID = " + value; With that I get yet another OleDbException this time with, Data type mismatch in criteria expression. I'm guessing for some reason the CITIZEN_ID fields don't want to take anything besides a plain number. Is there any way I can remedy this to get that pound symbol in? Thanks!

• Run shell script using fabric and piping script text to shell's stdin

  Is there a way to execute a multi-line shell script by piping it to the remote shell's standard input in fabric? Or must I always write it to the remote filesystem, then run it, then delete it? I like sending to stdin as it avoids the temporary file. If there's no fabric API (and it seems like there is not based on my research), presumably I can just use the ssh module directly. Basically I wish fabric.api.run was not limited to a 1-line command that gets passed to the shell as a command line argument, but instead would take a full multi-line script and write it to the remote shell's standard input.

• Strange Google Maps v3 geocode behavior when a quote is in the address

  See my test page. When on the page, click the top left button "Geocode". If you are in Firefox, geocoder.geocode() will have it's status equal to ERROR (and pop an alert after a few seconds). In Internet Explorer (at least 7), everything is fine and the marker is added to the map. If you remove the quote from the address (l'Assomption -- lAssomption), everything execute fine in Firefox. Now with my question: how a quote can "crash" the Google Maps V3 API only in Firefox!?

• P2 Touchpoint chmod not working?

  I'm using Eclipse 3.5.2 and I've created a p2.inf with the following information: instructions.install = \ chmod(targetDir:@artifact,targetFile:$os$/libfoo.so,permissions:755); instructions.install.import= \ org.eclipse.equinox.p2.touchpoint.natives.chmod I placed the p2.inf inside the META-INF folder of the fragment, but when I install the update site, libfoo.so does not have execute permissions. After pulling my hair out, I tried a p2.inf referencing a non-existing *.so, but nothing seems to happen. No error messages, exceptions, or warnings of any kind to indicate the P2 touchpoint action failed... What's the deal? Any ideas?

  I am trying to use (*env)->RegisterNatives to add methods to a defined class which I then add to a callback list. The callback sender of course expects my class to implement a certain interface which I do not. And is failing on execution. If I add the keyword "implements Listener" to my class in Java the javac expects to have the methods definition in Java or with native keyword which I try to avoid here, as I'd like to register the methods within the JNI_OnLoad and execute one of them afterwards. The question now is: Can I implement the interface in JNI or avoid the error message in Java?

  Hi there, I currently started to "port" my console projects to WinForms, but it seems I am badly failing doing that. I am simply used to a console structure: I got my classes interacting with each other depending on the input coming from the console. A simple flow: Input -> ProcessInput -> Execute -> Output -> wait for input Now I got this big Form1.cs (etc.) and the "Application.Run(Form1);" But I really got no clue how my classes can interact with the form and create a flow like I described above. I mean, I just have these "...._Click(object sender....)" for each "item" inside the form.
