    Is there a way to hide the "X" closing icon of a ToolWindow or is there a way to use IVsWindowFrameNotify3's OnShow method to discard (ignore) the event? It seems that the OnClose method is called only when VS exit. When the ToolWindow is called, the OnShow method is called with the __FRAMESHOW.FRAMESHOW_WinHidden state. thanks

    For some reason, jQuery's fade effect isn't working. Could it be because of the code? This function does everything it is supposed to, aside from the fading.     In C#, How do you pass the Session[] and Request[] objects to a method? I would like to use a method to parse out Session and Request paramaters for a .aspx page to reduce the size of my Page_Load method. I am passing quite a few variables, and need to support both POSTand GET methods. For most calls, not all variables are present, so I have to test every variable multiple ways, and the code gets long...   • OOP + MVC advice on Member Controller

    Hi, I am trying to follow good practices as much as possible while I'm learning using OOP in an MVC structure, so i'm turning to you guys for a bit of advice on something which is bothering me a little here. I am writing a site where I will have a number of different forms for members to fill in (mainly data about themselves), so i've decided to set up a Member controller where all of the forms relating to the member are represented as individual methods. This includes login/logout methods, as well as editing profile data etc. In addition to these methods, i also have a method to generate the member's control panel widget, which is a constant on every page on the site while the member is logged in. The only thing is, all of the other methods in this controller all have the same dependencies and form templates, so it would be great to generate all this in the constructor, but as the control_panel method does not have the same dependencies etc, I cannot use the constructor for this purpose, and instead I have to redeclare the dependencies and same template snippets in each method. This obviously isn't ideal and doesn't follow DRY principle, but I'm wondering what I should do with the control_panel method, as it is related to the member and that's why I put it in that controller in the first place. Am I just over-complicating things here and does it make sense to just move the control_panel method into a simple helper class?     I'm creating a simple training project. I've implemented a controller method, which deletes an item from the list. In my project the form-tag is looking like a cliuckable button. But there is a serious problem: controller's method is never triggered. How can I trigger it, using a button-tag?   • Scope of Groovy's ExpandoMetaClass?

    Groovy exposes an ExpandoMetaClass that allows you to dynamically add instance and class methods/properties to a POJO. I would like to use it to add an instance method to one of my Java classes: public class Fizz { // ...etc. } Fizz fizz = new Fizz(); fizz.metaClass.doStuff = { String blah -> fizz.buzz(blah) } This would be the equivalent to refactoring the Fizz class to have: public class Fizz { // ctors, getters/setters, etc... public void doStuff(String blah) { buzz(blah); } } My question: Does this add doStuff(String blah) to only this particular instance of Fizz? Or do all instances of Fizz now have a doStuff(String blah) instance method? If the former, how do I get all instances of Fizz to have the doStuff instance method? I know that if I made the Groovy: fizz.metaClass.doStuff << { String blah -> fizz.buzz(blah) } Then that would add a static class method to Fizz, such as Fizz.doStuff(String blah), but that's not what I want. I just want all instances of Fizz to now have an instance method called doStuff. Ideas?

  • Java Package, Project , NoSuchMethod error

    I have 2 projects linked and these 2 projects each have a package under them. XProject - XPackage - XClass - X1Method(); X2Method(); YProject - YPackage - YClass - Y1Method(); I'm trying to call X1 and X2 methods from Y1 Method. I can call X1 Method but when I call X2 method I get a runtime error (java.lang.NoSuchMethodError:) All methods are public and there is nothing wrong with method names. It is just nonsense to have one of them working while other is giving runtime errors. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Hey guys I got an issue in magento when listing products. $_productCollection = array(); $key = 'product_collection_'.Mage::app()->getRequest()->getRequestUri(); $_productCollection = Mage::helper('cache')->getDataInCache($key); if (empty($_productCollection)) { $_productCollection=$this->getLoadedProductCollection(); Mage::helper('cache')->setDataInCache($key,$_productCollection,'front_end_collection'); } That's my code, i'm loading the collection and saved in cache, the problem is that I added new products from the admin panel but they are not showing up in the listing. I have refreshed cache, reindex all the data and checke that the products were in stock. Also check the visibility because i understand that the collection gets just the visible products, am i correct? I'm using magento enterprise 1.9 I'm new in magento and i'm having troubles understanding how the Collections works, i hope somebody can help me. Thanks

    Hi! I'm having quite a problem here, and I think it is because I don't understand very much how I should use the API provided by Java. I need to write an int and a byte[] into a byte[] I thought of using a DataOutputStream to solve the data writing with writeInt(int i) and write(byte[] b), and to be able to put that into a byte array, I should use ByteArrayOutputStream's method toByteArray(). I understand that this classes use the Wrapper pattern, so I had two options: DataOutputStream w = new DataOutputStream(new ByteArrayOutputStream()); or ByteArrayOutputStream w = new ByteArrayOutputStream(new DataOutputStream()); but in both cases, I "loose" a method. in the first case, I can't access the toByteArray method, and in the second, I can't access the writeInt method. How should I use this classes together?

  • Methods in Customized View did not get invoke in AppDelegate, Why?

    I want the methods pauseGame in customized UIView - MyGameView get invoked when the phone is locked or interrupted. So I have a pauseGame method but it can't stop the timer when user lock screen (command+L). The lock screen did appear but the game still running at the background. So I added the testPause method to MyGameView and MyGameAppDelegate and and put a breakpoint to debug it. When screen locked it, the screen lock appeared and the code did stop at the breakpoint. But when I tried to step into the testPause method, it didn't take me to the method in MyGameView (it just passed it, not skipped) and no message was printed on terminal by NSLog. Why?   • String generator issue

    I want to write a method which returns a string. So far so good. The creation of the string however is quite complicated. I have 3 string lists - the first one has 155 entries, the second one - 9, the third one 21. I want my method if called enough times(155*9*21) to return all the possible combinations of values from the 3 lists (basically this method should keep count on how many times it was called and return only one combination each time). Any ideas how to accomplish that? I have 155*9*22 possible combinations. The first time the method is called it should take List1(0), List2(0), List3(0). After that in the next 21 iterations, the index of the third list is only changed. Once all the elements from the third list have been used increment the index of the second list and so on. Once the method has produced all the possible combinations (155*9*22) I want it to start from the beginning.

    Hello. I am a student programmer who has taken up Objective-C on my free time as my college doesn't teach it. We have only used Java and basic C so far. I am in the middle of making a program for the iPod and was wondering if there was any type of way to call a method in a class similar to the way a Focus Listener does in Java? I have a view that I would like to call a refresh method (to update the newly inputted titles of buttons from another view) when the view is put at the top and visible again. Is this too easy or is there a more methodical way of doing that? I have tried to just call the method from the other view class but it does not seem to work (says the other class is either undefined or may not accept the method call and crashes on execution). Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you for your time.

    In my application I am using a webview, and in order to increase/decrease text size, I am using WebSettings().setTextSize method, but, this method is limited to 5 predefined enum sizes only (SMALLEST, SMALLER, NORMAL, LARGER,LARGEST). I know I can use WebSettings().setTextZoom(int), but my application is available for API Level 8 and above, and this method was introduced in API Level 14... My question is: Is there any way to add other sizes to webSettings().setTextSize? maybe by extending textSize enum, or define other sizes?

  • How do I get back results running a VB Script from C#?

    I want to be able to call VB scripts from C#, which is easy enough, but I need to be able to get back the results from these scripts at times. Should I use the method referenced with something to read back, or should I use a different method? I've found a method to getting data back from powershell scripts using Runspaces and Pipelines, but I don't know enough about this technology to know if it will work with VB scripts as well. Ideally, I'd like to do something similar to the powershell method where I can just pass in the contents of the script without needing to reference an external file and get back the results. Can anyone tell me how to do this? Thanks.

It works fine though if I embed the object in the page beforehand instead of trying to dynamically create the element. Any idea what I'm missing?   • Cannot execute newly created TestMethod in VS2010

    When I try to run a new TestMethod on an existing TestClass in Visual Studio 2010 (by right-clicking on the method name and choosing Run Tests) the test method does not execute. After a restart of VS, the problem has gone. Am I missing some refresh thing, or is right-clicking even the correct way of executing a single test method?

  • Should I implement IDisposable here?

    My method which calls SQL Server returns a datareader but because of what I need to do (return the datareader to the calling method which is in page code-behind), I can't close the connection in the class of the method which calls sql server, so I have no finally or using blocks. Is the correct way of disposing resources to make the class implement IDisposable? Or from the caller, explicitly dispose the unmanged resource (class-level fields)? Thanks
