• Updating an image's ImageUrl within a Repeater

  I hope someone can help me. It's a pretty newbie question, I'm afraid. I have an image inside a repeater, and I would like to change its IMAGEURL based on parameter that's being passed to it. <asp:Repeater ID="Repeater" runat="server"> <HeaderTemplate> <asp:Image ID="imgType" runat="server" /> </HeaderTemplate> <ItemTemplate> <%# Eval("DisplayName")%> </ItemTemplate> <SeparatorTemplate> <hr /> </SeparatorTemplate> </asp:Repeater> There is a SWITCH statement in the code behind that is altering the IMAGEURL depending on what's being passed to it. Inevitably, however, the images ID ("imgType") is not visible to the SWITCH statement (presumably because it's inside a REPEATER). Any suggestions on the best way to implement this would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for such a newbie question.

  Have developed an asp.net 3.5 application which consists of a we-site, some developed assemblies and some 3rd party assembles such as Telerik, Jayrock etc, all very much standard 3rd party apps. Created and built this app, tested on Win 2008 Eval running on a VM, all fine. Imagine my frustration when after installing on clients production Win 2008 server, that the app could not run and the error message was the "Strong name signature could not be verified. The assembly may have been tampered with, or it was delay signed ..." one. This was for all assembles in app (removed one and this kept popping up for a different assembly). Attempted to install on a machine on the network and received the same error. I am fairly baffled and a little freaked as I can not figure this out and time is rapidly running out. Have inspected all parts of server I know about (.NET, IIS7) but all seems fine. What could cause this? It sounds like there is a stricter security manifest on the production server - but where would I look and for what? It must be a group policy. only other item is that the machines are running Symantec ante-virus. The IT head is on hols so can't quiz him which is also frustrating - but as they say time waits for no man!

Also, if anyone happens to be familiar with this hack, any information on how it works, and where the backdoor and other components of the hack may be hidden would be super helpful and greatly appreciated.   Ok, I am using umbraco forum module, and on the comment form it uses jquery validate plugin. The problem is that I have added a search button on the same page using a UserControl, the search submit button triggers the comment form submission validation. I have done some research, and added the 'cancel' css class to the button. This bypass the first validation issue, however, it still fall into the 'submitHandler'. Have read the source code and find a way to detect whether the search button triggers the submission. however, there is not a nice way to bypass the handler. I am currently using a ugly way to do it: create javascript errors! I would like to know a nicer way to do the job. Many thanks! • Visual Studio C++ Solution in Maven2

  A new project is coming up that will require interaction between Java and C++. It's been decided that the project will be built via Maven2. Unfortunately I don't know anything about Maven and the Java guys don't know anything about C++. They have their build chain all set up with various reports being emitted for each part related to CheckStyle, Findbugs, Corbortura(?) etc. and they want the same to be done with the C++ side. Currently we have 4 apps that need building: 2 services, a tray app and a simple dialog based application. I've been told I need to have a pom for each and configure each to output to a target directory, have the tool chain produce the reports - the most particular being the code coverage which the client wants 100%. I have sourced the tools - Bullseye and QA-C++ and requested eval copies - but I am dismayed to find there is very little information on C++ & Maven, and what little there is seems to be horror stories. Does anyone on SO have a good story about it (or have link to blog post)? Is there a simple explanation anywhere for configuring a Visual Studio solution (preferably C++) to be Mavenized? I am expecting pain but I am getting increasingly wary of this venture - but unfortunately the project manager is Java side and seems hell-bent on Mavenizing it.

  Hi ... its me again with a php problem :) Following is part of my PHP script which is rendering JPEG images. ... $tf=$requested_file; $image_type="jpeg"; header("Content-type: image/${image_type}"); $CMD="\$image=imagecreatefrom${image_type}('$tf'); image${image_type}(\$image);"; eval($CMD); exit; ... There is no syntactical error, because above code is working fine for small images, but for large images, it gives: Error 321 (net::ERR_INVALID_CHUNKED_ENCODING): Unknown error. in the browser. To be sure, I created two images using imagemagick from same source image - one resized to 10% of original and other 90%. http://mostpopularsports.net/images/misc/ttt10.jpg works http://mostpopularsports.net/images/misc/ttt90.jpg gives Error 301 in the browser. There is a related question with solution posted by OP here Error writing content through Apache. but I cannot understand how to make the fix. Can someome help me with it? I have looked at the headers in Chrome. For the first request, everything is fine. For the second request - the request headers are all garbled. Both images are jpeg (as they are created from imagemagick. But still to be sure I checked): misc/ttt10.jpg: JPEG image data, JFIF standard 1.01 misc/ttt90.jpg: JPEG image data, JFIF standard 1.01 Finally, the way I fixed is, remove the Transfer-Encoding: chunked header from the response. [This header was sent by apache only when the data was large enough]. (I had an internal proxy, so did it in the proxy script - otherwise one may need to do it in apache settings). There were some good answers and I have selected the one that helped me solve the problem best. thanks JP

  Hello, In my company we are planning to use Drools a BRE for couple of projects. Now we trying to define some best-practices. My question is what should be and shouldn't be done inside a Rule Condition/Consequence. Given that we can write Java directly or call methods (for example From a Global object in the Working Memory). Example. Given a Rule that evaluates a generic Object (e.g. Person) have property set to true. Now, that specific propertie can only be defined for that Object going to the database and fetching that info. So we have two ways of implementing that: Alternative A: Go to the database and fetch the object property (true/false, a code) Insert the Object in the working memory Evaluate the rule Alternative B: Insert a Global Object that has a method that connects to the database and check for the property for the given object. Insert the Object to eval in Working Memory In the rule, call the Global Object and perform the access to the database Which of those is considered better? I really like A, but sometimes B is more straightforward, however what would happen if something like a Exception from the Database is raised? I have seen the alternative B implemented in the Drools 5.0 Book from Packt Publishing,however they are doing a mocking and they don't talk about the actual implications of going to the database at all.   I'm talking about C and/or C++ here as this are the only languages I know used for interpreters where the following could be a problem: If we have an interpreted language X how can a library written for it add functions to the language which can then be called from within programs written in the language? PHP example: substr( $str, 5, 10 ); How is the function substr added to the "function pool" of PHP so it can be called from within scripts? It is easy for PHP storing all registered function names in an array and searching through it as a function is called in a script. However, as there obviously is no eval in C(++), how can the function then be called? I assume PHP doesn't have 100MB of code like: if( identifier == "substr" ) { return PHP_SUBSTR(...); } else if( ... ) { ... } Ha ha, that would be pretty funny. I hope you have understood my question so far. How do interpreters written in C/C++ solve this problem? How can I solve this for my own experimental toy interpreter written in C++?

• Application process never terminates on each run

  I am seeing an application always remains live even after closing the application using my Perl script below. Also, for the subsequent runs, it always says that "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. iperf.exe -u -s -p 5001 successful. Output was:" So every time I have to change the file name $file used in script or I have to kill the iperf.exe process in the Task Manager. Could anybody please let me know the way to get rid of it? • tomcat wont start up on linux machine

  hi, im new to linux but after spending the day i have got linux running. installed java and tomcat. my goal is host my app with this linux box i've just set up. i know it all works fine from my windows based machine but it is my laptop so i'm planning this as my dedicated server. following many many forums i've now got tomcat 7 installed. however i cannot get it to start. changing to the tomcat directory and "./startup.sh" i get output Using CATALINA_BASE: /usr/local/tomcat Using CATALINA_HOME: /usr/local.tomcat Using CATALINA_TMPDIR: /usr/local/tomcat/temp Using JRE_HOME: usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun/ Using CLASSPATH: /usr/local/tomcat/bin/bootstrap.jar:/usr/local.tomcat/bin/c\tomcat-juli.jar thats the end of theoutput. however localhost:8080 is not up. and in the tomcat log file is the error "eval: 1: usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun//bin/java: not found" hopfully there is some expert here who can help me with this problem. please note that im a novice when it comes to linux. thankyou oh and my version of linux is Ubuntu 10.04 LTS - the Lucid Lynx

  I'm using a DataList to show some data from the database and populating the fields on the html side. I now have a requirement to change the visibility of a panel based on whether or not a db field has data or not. I need to be able to show the panel if the relevant data field has content, and hide it if it doesn't. Eg: <asp:Panel ID="pnlNew" runat="server" Style="margin:0; padding:0; width:42px; height:18px; bottom:5px; right:10px; float:right; position:relative; background:url(../_imgVideoBadge.png) no-repeat;" Visible='<%# Eval("cheese") != null %>' ToolTip="available"></asp:Panel> Obviously this doesn't work in terms of the visible property. But hopefully it gives an idea of what I'm trying to achieve. Any help would be greatly appreciated.   I have an javascript that I place into a page using the code below. What the code does is place an object/embed code into a webpage. Simple javascript loader to a NicoVideo movie <script type="text/javascript" src="http://ext.nicovideo.jp/thumb_watch/sm13154955?w=640&h=395"></script> This works great in a webpage. But what if I want to load this javascript into a page using AJAX? This no longer works for the obvious reasons, you would need to eval the script in order to get it to run. However, I have no idea how to do this. I am using jQuery on my page; so keep that in mind. I have tried the following code, but it doesn't seem to work through AJAX, or even in a normal page load environment. <script>$.getScript("http://ext.nicovideo.jp/thumb_watch/sm13154955?w=640&h=395");</script> Any ideas on how I would get this to work?

  I am having some difficulties implementing Paypal buttons with backbone.js The problem is that the button is implemented in a script tag: <script src="paypal-button.min.js?merchant=YOUR_MERCHANT_ID" data-button="buynow" data-name="My product" data-amount="1.00"></script> which i cant run from Handlebars.js because the </script> tag is closing the handlebars <script> I cant use eval(), or i don't understand how i am supposed to do that with the . So there you have it. i am kind of stuck. I am out of ideas on how to implement this button with backbone.js the last resort is to ask the server to produce html pages with the script in them and then load them to the page. i am just refusing to believe that JavaScript has no way to take care of this. I mean I know what "eval", "apply", and '?' all mean, but I'm having a hard time deciphering the rest of the picture. Who the heck is the maiden? Does she work for the wizard? Why the heck is she pointing at the table? Is she pointing at that little bowl-type thing? Or the books? Or the table in general? Is she trying to tell the wizard that he should apply some sort of Lisp wizardry to the table or the items on it? Or is she just telling him something prosaic, such as his food is getting cold? What the heck is the one leg on that table that looks like...a leg...with a foot at the end (as legs tend to have)? How does the table balance on one leg? (Or is that another leg in the shadows?) [Note: I'm waiting for a lengthy build to finish in case you were wondering.]

• Including Data From DropDownList Into Gridview

  I feel a little embarassed posting two questions relating to the same problem, but the first one ended up answering a question that I believe is unrelated to the solution so I'm leaving it up and outlining what I'm trying to accomplish with the hopes that someone can help out a .Net noob. What I need to be able to do is create a field in my gridview that contains a link that passes two variables. One is pulled from within the gridviews datasource and the other needs to be pulled from a textbox control outside the gridview. From what I've read so far you cannot use a hyperlinkfield for this as the datanavigateurlfields cannot be set to pull from anything but the gridview's data source. What I attempted to do was create a template field where in the itemtemplate I called: <a href="example.aspx?e=<%# Eval(ExampleList.SelectedItem.Value) %>">Test</a> That comes back with an error like this: DataBinding: 'System.Data.DataRowView' does not contain a property with the value 'TestData' Any clues to make this happen would be appreciated, like I said I'm pretty new to .Net so please be gentle. I tried to do my homework before posting this.
