  • How can I validate input to the edit control of a cell in a DataGridView?

    It appears that the only way to capture the keypress events within a cell of a DataGridView control, in order to validate user input as they type, is to us the DataGridView controls OnEditControlShowing event, hook up a method to the edit control's (e.Control) keypress event and do some validation. My problem is that I've built a heap of custom DataGridView column classes, with their own custom cell types. These cells have their own custom edit controls (things like DateTimePickers, and Numeric or Currency textboxes.) I want to do some numeric validation for those cells that have Numeric of Currency Textboxes as their edit controls but not all the other cell types. How can I determine, within the DataGridView's "OnEditControlShowing" override, whether or not a particular edit control needs some numeric validation?

    I'm on a small business network, and rarely we experience really extreme latency. I have no idea what device might be causing the lag, and wanted to know if there was a piece of software that could detect it. I know about some softwares like wireshark, which maybe do what I'm asking? If so it's too complicated to understand. I run the program and I have no idea what I'm looking at, or what parameters to give it. So something that can monitor traffic, as well as describe it in such a way that even a not so network savvy individual can interpret.

  • How can I initialize an ActiveX control from a URL?

    I have an MFC ActiveX control embedded in a web page. Some of the parameters for this control are very large. I don't know what these values will be at compile time, but I do know that once retrieved, they will almost certainly never change. Currently, I embed the parameters like so: <object name="MyActiveX"> <param name="param" value="<%= GetData() %>" /> </object> I want to do something like this: <object name="MyActiveX"> <param name="param" value="content/data" valuetype="ref" /> </object> The idea is that the browser would retrieve the resource from the web server and pass it on to the control. The browser's own caching would then take care of the unneccesary downloads. Unfortunately, ref parameters don't work like this. The browser just passes the url along to the control (which strikes me as utterly useless, but I digress). So, is there some way I can make this work? Alternatively, is there an easy way in MFC to instruct the control's host container to retrieve a URI identified resource? Any better ideas?

    I want to know whether a control is valid or not in javascript. Is there a direct client side API available in Asp.Net which can tell me whether a control is valid or not? Eg. If I have 2 validators attached to a textbox, I need a function that can tell me whether the textbox is valid or not. If even 1 validator is not valid then it should return false. I can't seem to find a function that can give me this. Here is a little helper that I wrote which does the job but is inefficient: function isControlValid(control) { for (i = 0; i < Page_Validators.length; i++) { var validator = Page_Validators[i]; var controlId = validator.controltovalidate; if ($(control).attr('id') == controlId && validator.isvalid == false) { return false; } } return true; } Anybody has any better alternatives?

  • How to ignore viewstate of a previous request for particular control?

    I am dynamically generating controls, and sometimes I want to create a control and have it ignore the viewstate. For example, sometimes the user has clicked a button indicating they want a different form loaded, so the control tree I generate on postback is different from the original control tree. This is fine, except when I call Controls.Add then it tries to load the viewstate form the old controls into the new controls if the control tree structure is similar, and I want them to instead ignore that viewstate(and also ignore the postback values for input controls as well). Can I do something like set the IDs of the controls or something that would allow me to conditionally prevent them from getting the viewstate/postback data of the previous request?

  • UIWebView Loading content properly on iOS 6 simulator but not on device?

    I have encountered a weird bug with a released app. My UIWebView is no longer loading content on iOS 6, yet the content still displays in the simulator. The activity indicator displays properly but then it loads a blank url? Again, this only happens on a device, not on the simulator. To provide extra context (in the simulator the NSURLRequest is assigned the proper URL. When run on a device the value is nil.)     I have access to PC, and I am a standard user. Everything(incl. "show charecters" tickbox at wiriless menu) requires admin access. Now, that said machine is actually like a big tv with touch. Type-stuff is handled by virtual keyboard of windows. I can reach to c:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Wlansvc\Profiles\Interfaces and can see-open files there, which is I assume where passwords stored are. Now the problem is that these passwords is encypted. I'm ok with if there is a way with changing/resetting admin password as well. Considering this device has nothing but massive amounts of usb(yep, not even cd-dvd // rw) the only way is from inside or with usb without admin rights.

  • Can SQLite file copied successfully on the data folder of an unrooted android device ?

    I know that in order to access the data folder on the device, it needs to be rooted. However, if I just want to copy the database from my assets folder to the data folder on my device, will the copying process works on an unrooted phone? The following is my Database Helper class. From logcat, I can verify that the methods call to copyDataBase(), createDataBase() and openDataBase() are returned successfully. However, I got this error message android.database.sqlite.SQLiteException: no such table: TABLE_NAME: when my application is executing rawQuery. I'm suspecting the database file is not copied successfully (cannot be too sure as I do not have access to data folder), yet the method call to copyDatabase() are not throwing any exception. What could it be?   • Suspending my laptop breaks ethernet over firewire, are there commands which can fix it?

    As mentioned in this question I am using a firewire cable to provide a private network between my laptop and my desktop, because it makes using the screen sharing program synergy much nicer than using WIFI. However when I leave my office for the day and I suspend my laptop, when I return the next day, the desktop and the laptop cannot communicate over firewire anymore. The firewire0 device still has an IP address. but when I try and ping the desktop I get no route to host I'm using kernel 2.6.35-24-generic #42-Ubuntu SMP x86_64 on Ubuntu 10.10. Is there some way I can remedy this without a reboot? Like, removing some kernel modules and re-inserting them?   • Connecting a Samsung Galaxy S3 in Ubuntu 13.04

    In 13.04, whenever I connect an Android device, one of three things happens: 1 . It mounts successfully (maybe once out of 3 attempts) 2 . It fails to mount with the following error message: Oops! Something went wrong. Unhandled error message: Unable to open MTP device 3 . This one occasionally happens: Unhandled error message: No such interface `org.gtk.vfs.Mount' on object at path /org/gtk/vfs/mount/1 Regardless of activity (even when successfully mounted) it will continuously spam the following error message: Unable to mount SAMSUNG_Android Unable to open MTP Device '[usb:003,00x]' where x seems to be an arbitrary number below 10 and continues counting up with each new error message until the device is unplugged. I've also just noticed that even if it mounts successfully, it unmounts after about 30 seconds and starts spamming the error message above. The Android device is unlocked, always on and fully charged. ADB seems to function normally. Any suggestions? Further info: this happens on both a stock Samsung S3 and an Xperia Arc S running a custom AOSP based ROM. I've also tried the steps outlined in this Stack Overflow answer, but the problem persists. UPDATE: After doing a dist-upgrade (May 8th 2013), the Xperia Arc S on AOSP ROM now mounts and behaves normally. The S3, however, still behaves as described above. UPDATE: After careful observation, ABD does not, in fact, behave normally. If the error message above appears while sending an app to the device, the attempt is aborted with an error message saying that the device is unavailable.

PTP_ERROR_IO: failed to open session, trying again after resetting USB interface LIBMTP libusb: Attempt to reset device LIBMTP PANIC: failed to open session on second attempt Unable to open raw device 0 [20:44|0] $ mtp-detect | grep idProduct Device 0 (VID=04e8 and PID=6860) is a Samsung GT-P7310/P7510/N7000/I9100/Galaxy Tab 7.7/10.1/S2/Nexus/Note. When finished I tried android-connect This returned fuse: bad mount point `/media/GalaxyTab': Transport endpoint is not connected Does anybody have a clue what to do? Also I want to note that when I connect my GalaxyTab 2 7.0 that I still get a pop-up of ubuntu that a device was connected. I also can still see the mapstructure, the problem however is is that all the folders have 0 bytes and do not have any subfolders. I can only see the folders in the root. ps. I have linux-firmware-nonfree and ivtv-utils installed. I am running Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS 64 bit with all updates installed and the default unity environment.   • Huawei e303c data-card not working for Ubuntu 11.04?

    Cheers to you. I got a problem in making a Mobile-BroadBand connection in Ubuntu 11.04, using 'Huawei e303c' usb data-card. I'm using Tata Docomo 3G sim-card (India, circle: Maharastra). My observations: 1.) I installed the device's driver 'Mobile-Partner For Linux'(which came up with the device). But it is not detecting my device. 2.) In Network Manager, Adding a Mobile-BroadBand connection is not able to detect the device (with or without the device's driver installed). 3.)I tried softwares like usb_modeswitch, gnomeppp, wvdial, sakis3G and followed their guidelines. These too didn't work. 4.) Without the driver, the system is able to identify the device (Mobile-Partner icon comes-up, that leads to driver setup files). But after installing the driver, nothing comes-up there. 5.) In all the above cases, when 'lsusb' cmd is fired, the prompt shows the connected data card (as 'DEVICE_ID:VENDOR_ID Huawei Technologies Ltd.,'). This is my problem. My purpose is to , 1.Creating an UI that tells about the Basic information about the device(We want to send a control request to the device to get the descriptors). 2.For that first of all i want to communicate with the OS for device attachment.That will lead to get the information about the device and Enumeration takes place and then only i request the device information through descriptors by using standard Requests. 3.And also i want to create the driver for my device.That will also need to achieve for communicating with OS(Windows). So,can anyone help me about this?How can i achieve this or approach this? Note: I am at the entry level now so anyone give response will be in a detailed format like step by step process would be appreciable.
