    Google Docs Viewer (http://docs.google.com/viewer) creates a cache of a document after the first viewing. To see what I mean, try the following: Upload file.pdf to your server (i.e., http://example.com). Visit http://docs.google.com/viewer?url=http://example.com/file.pdf Upload a new file to replace file.pdf (but use the same name). Revisit http://docs.google.com/viewer?url=http://example.com/file.pdf. Google Docs Viewer still shows the old file.pdf. Anyone know how to correct this? (I have already tried clearing browser cache, switching browsers, and logging in with a different google account to view the link.)

  • android app crashes if keyboard was shown

    I have an activity that I force keyboard to appears using, InputMethodManager inputMethodManager=(InputMethodManager)getSystemService(Context.INPUT_METHOD_SERVICE); inputMethodManager.toggleSoftInput(InputMethodManager.SHOW_FORCED, 0); keyboard appears properly and also obscured when needed. Problem is when I finish the activity, app crashes. If the activity never shows keyboard or shows it without start editing text, it is finished with no errors but if you just write one single character or more, app will crash.   • Is it possible to invoke NSDictionary's valueForKeyPath: when a key contains periods?

    I'm trying to get the value of the repeatInterval key in the com.apple.scheduler plist. I'd like to just use NSDictionary's valueForKeyPath: method like so: CFPropertyListRef value; value = CFPreferencesCopyValue(CFSTR("AbsoluteSchedule"), CFSTR("com.apple.scheduler"), kCFPreferencesCurrentUser, kCFPreferencesCurrentHost); NSNumber *repeatInterval = [(NSDictionary *)value valueForKeyPath:@"com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.SUCheckSchedulerTag.Timer.repeatInterval"]; But the problem with this is that the first key is really "com.apple.SoftwareUpdate", not just "com". I can get around this by getting that first value separately: NSDictionary *dict = [(NSDictionary *)value valueForKey:@"com.apple.SoftwareUpdate"]; NSNumber *repeatInterval = [dict valueForKeyPath:@"SUCheckSchedulerTag.Timer.repeatInterval"]; I just wanted to know if there is a way to escape periods in a keypath so I can eliminate this extra step.

  • Getting a PasteScript error when I try to serve an existing Pylons app.

    I'm trying to serve an existing Python 2.5 Pylons application on OS X Snow Leopard. I've already installed Python 2.5 and set it as the default Python installation, installed paster, and installed the version of Pylons the app needs (0.9.6.1) as well as other eggs... but when I cd to the main folder and do "paster serve development.ini" I get the following: File "/usr/local/bin/paster", line 5, in <module> from pkg_resources import load_entry_point File "/System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.5/Extras/lib/python/pkg_resources.py", line 2603, in <module> File "/System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.5/Extras/lib/python/pkg_resources.py", line 666, in require File "/System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.5/Extras/lib/python/pkg_resources.py", line 565, in resolve pkg_resources.DistributionNotFound: PasteScript==1.7.3 I definitely have done "easy_install PasteScript==1.7.3" and I still get this error.     I have a WCF Service hosted w/n IIS that has the following host header: WcfService.xxx.com. I'm able to successfully browse via IE to my service with the address subdomain.xxx.com/ServiceName.svc. I'm trying to consume the WCF Service via a ASP.NET Web application that has the following host header subdomain2.xxx.com. I've added the service reference correctly in the web.config to /WcfService.xxx.com/ServiceName.svc, but get the error(s): "The remote name could not be resolved: 'WcfService.xxx.com'" "There was no endpoint listening at http://WcfService.xxx.com/ServiceName.svc that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action" Any direction/help would be appreciated.

    I have this Rails app, with domain name abc.com. I am also having a separate subdomain for Piwik stats, in this subdomain stats.abc.com. Googlebot somehow listed some of the links with my subdomain too. http://abc.com/login http://stats.abc.com/login http://abc.com/signup http://stats.abc.com/signup The ones with stats will reference to the same page in the app, but are treated entirely different website. I have put in robots.txt in stats after this matter, but wondering if there is any appropriate way to block this because I may have new subdomains in future.   • Opinions sought on the best way to organise classes in PHP

    I am pretty much set on using the Java package naming convention of com.website.app.whatever but am unsure about the best way of doing this in PHP. Option 1: Create a directory structure com/ mysite/ myapp/ encryption/ PublicKeyGenerator.class.php Cipher.class.php Xml/ XmlHelper.class.php XmlResponse.class.php Now this is how Java does it, it uses the folders to organize the heirarchy. This is however a little clumsy in PHP because there is no native support for it and when you move things around you break all includes. Option 2 Name classes using a periods for the package, therefore sames are just like in Java but can all be in the same directory making __autoload a breeze. classes/ com.mysite.myapp.encription.PublicKeyGenerator.class.php com.mysite.myapp.encription.Cipher.class.php com.mysite.myapp.xml.XmlHelper.class.php com.mysite.myapp.xml.XmlResponse.class.php The only real disadvantage here is that all the classes are in a single folder which might be confusing for large projects. Opinions sought, which is the best or are there other even better options?

  • Coordinating typedefs and structs in std::multiset (C++)

    I'm not a professional programmer, so please don't hesitate to state the obvious. My goal is to use a std::multiset container (typedef EventMultiSet) called currentEvents to organize a list of structs, of type Event, and to have members of class Host occasionally add new Event structs to currentEvents. The structs are supposed to be sorted by one of their members, time. I am not sure how much of what I am trying to do is legal; the g++ compiler reports (in "Host.h") "error: 'EventMultiSet' has not been declared."   • scanf a byte then print it out?

    I've searched around to see if I can find this answer but I can't seem to (please let me know if I'm wrong). I am trying to use scanf to read in a byte, an unsigned int and a char in one .c file and I am trying to access this byte in a different .c file and print it out. (I have already checked to make sure I have included all the appropriate parameters everywhere) But I keep getting errors.     I was using a vector-based priority queue typedef std::priority_queue< Event, vector< Event >, std::greater< Event > > EventPQ; to manage my Event objects. Now my simulation has to be able to find and delete certain Event objects not at the top of the queue. I'd like to know if my planned work-around can do what I need it to, and if I have the syntax right. I'd also like to know if dramatically better solutions exist. Would it be dramatically easier to store the Events themselves in EventPQ instead? Does it make more sense to remove the time keys from Event objects and use them instead as keys in a multimap? Assuming the current implementation seems okay, my questions are: Do I need to specify how to sort on the pointers, rather than the objects, or does the multiset automatically know to sort on the objects pointed to? If I have a shared_ptr ptr1 to an Event that also has a pointer in the EventPQ container, how do I find and delete the corresponding pointer in EventPQ? Is it enough to .find( ptr1 ), or do I instead have to find by the key (time)? Is the Event::remove() sufficient for removing the pointer in the EventPQ container? There's a small chance multiple events could be created with the same time (obviously implied in the use of multiset). If the find() works on event times, to avoid accidentally deleting the wrong event, I was planning to throw in a further check on eventID and hostID. Does this seem reasonable? (Dumb syntax question) In Event.h, is the declaration of dummy class Event;, then the EventPQ typedef, and then the real class Event declaration appropriate? I'm obviously an inexperienced programmer with very spotty background--this isn't for homework. Would love suggestions and explanations. Please let me know if any part of this is confusing. Thanks.

    I have the following code: private static LogLevel? _logLevel = null; public static LogLevel LogLevel { get { if (!_logLevel.HasValue) { _logLevel = readLogLevelFromFile(); } return _logLevel.Value; } } private static LogLevel readLogLevelFromFile() { ... } I get a ReSharper warning on the return statement about a possible System.InvalidOperationException and it suggests I check _logLevel to see if it is null first. However, readLogLevelFromFile returns LogLevel, not LogLevel?, so there is no way the return statement could be reached when _logLevel is null. Is this just an oversight by ReSharper, or am I missing something?

  • using yield in C# like I would in Ruby

    Besides just using yield for iterators in Ruby, I also use it to pass control briefly back to the caller before resuming control in the called method. What I want to do in C# is similar. In a test class, I want to get a connection instance, create another variable instance that uses that connection, then pass the variable to the calling method so it can be fiddled with. I then want control to return to the called method so that the connection can be disposed. I guess I'm wanting a block/closure like in Ruby. Here's the general idea: private static MyThing getThing() { using (var connection = new Connection()) { yield return new MyThing(connection); } } [TestMethod] public void MyTest1() { // call getThing(), use yielded MyThing, control returns to getThing() // for disposal } [TestMethod] public void MyTest2() { // call getThing(), use yielded MyThing, control returns to getThing() // for disposal } ... This doesn't work in C#; ReSharper tells me that the body of getThing cannot be an iterator block because MyThing is not an iterator interface type. That's definitely true, but I don't want to iterate through some list. I'm guessing I shouldn't use yield if I'm not working with iterators. Any idea how I can achieve this block/closure thing in C# so I don't have to wrap my code in MyTest1, MyTest2, ... with the code in getThing()'s body?

  • Using the filename for GET data and making the PHP page output as a JPG extension?

    Alright, currently I'm using GD to create a PNG image that logs a few different things, depending on the GET data, for example: http://example.com/file.php?do=this will log one thing while http://example.com/file.php?do=that will log another thing. However, I'd like to do it without GET data, so instead http://example.com/dothis.php will log one thing, and http://example.com/dothat.php will log the other. But on top of that, I'd also like to make it accessible via the JPG file extension. I've seen this done but I can't figure out how. So that way http://example.com/dothis.JPG will log one thing, while http://example.com/dothat.JPG logs the other. The logging part is simple, of course. I simple need to know how to use filenames in place of the GET data and how to set the php file to be accessible via a jpg file extension.

    I have a website, which has numerous subdirectories already. (All existing in server's filesystem) I want to create new "virtual" sub-dirs with htaccess, but I only want the htaccess rule work for directories, listed in DB, and not existing in filesystem. i.e. File system has: /dir1/ & /dir2/ MySQL database has record for 'dir3' & 'dir4' And I want: A: mysite.com/dir1/ and mysite.com/dir2/ display existing old content B: mysite.com/dir3/ and mysite.com/dir4/ display content from MySQL provided by PHP sctipt via redirect like: mysite.com/myscript.php?dir=dir3 C: mysite.com/dir5/ display 404 error (Dir does not exist in DB nor in Database) Basically I want .htaccess to work like this: IF DIR Exists in DB - apply the rewrite rule and show content from myscript.php?dir=DIR ELSE don't apply any rule. I can create a separate php script, which can return 0/1 when given dir name exist in DB or not, but how do I make mod_rewrite get the data from that script? Is it possible with htaccess/PHP at all?

However when I look at the 1st calendar on the Google website, the title is shown as [email protected].com, though the summary is correctly shown as Collection calendar for user2@mailinator.com. Strangely, the title and summary are both shown correctly tor the 2nd calendar. This only started happening today, and I'm pretty sure the relevant code has not changed. I'm totally stumped....

  • Facebook android app keeps crashing even though there are no errors in my code. Why?

    If you import the facebook SDK library, the code works (ignore the deprecated methods for now lol) and there are no errors or warnings. However, when I run my facebook app on my Android 2.2 or 4.2 emulator, the app crashes either upon opening or after the log on screen. Why? Is it because I'm not implementing Async Task? If so, how does that work?     I'm pretty inexperienced with .htaccess so please bear with me. I have a domain - "http://www.exampletest.com" which redirects to a folder at a different domain where I have hosting i.e: "http://www.differenturl.com/exampletest" Is there an easy mod_rewrite rule where I could have anything at "http://www.differenturl.com/exampletest" show up as "http://www.exampletest.com?" An example would be: "http://www.differenturl.com/exampletest/user.php" - "http://www.exampletest.com/user.php" Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
