  Liquid XML Editor is one of my favourite tools, but I was slightly concerned with the original 2012 release as the new XML Data Mapper tool was a bit buggy. So I was pleased to see SP1 is now available for download.Sure enough the issues have been fixed and it's once more a great tool!The data mapper can also now be run from the command line (this was a little limiting before as you had to open the IDE to run the mapping) and the Help now contains full documentation.#

  Currently I have a client and admin webpage. There are multiple users who will login to the client page. While in admin page, when I restored the database inside the admin page, I need to logout all the users who are currently login to the client page. Any ideas how it should be done? My current language using is classic ASP. If it can be done in ASP.NET, its fine too. Thanks.

• Does my basic PHP Socket Server need optimization?

  Like many people, I can do a lot of things with PHP. One problem I do face constantly is that other people can do it much cleaner, much more organized and much more structured. This also results in much faster execution times and much less bugs. I just finished writing a basic PHP Socket Server (the real core), and am asking you if you can tell me what I should do different before I start expanding the core. I'm not asking about improvements such as encrypted data, authentication or multi-threading. I'm more wondering about questions like "should I maybe do it in a more object oriented way (using PHP5)?", or "is the general structure of the way the script works good, or should some things be done different?". Basically, "is this how the core of a socket server should work?" In fact, I think that if I just show you the code here many of you will immediately see room for improvements.   It just isn't there on the base install of a virtual host I am evaluating from an ISP. I am having 1 problem at the moment which I want to solve before I go further, but I cannot seem to find how to get the problem solved. This works as a charm, but when I use CTRL+C to exit the connection, my server prints "Message from client: " a couple of thousand times. where am I going wrong?

  Hi experts, I am trying to make a SSL connection to a web site. Each time I enter the https:// address and press enter, the IE8 prompts me to select the Certificate (Client Certificate) to send to the server. I got 2 certificates to choose from. And they are stored in the IE8 - Internet Options - Content - Certificates - Personal. Since my server and client are the same machine, I want to use a single certificate for both server and client. And this certificate is a IIS generated self signed certificate. I do the following steps: 1- Generate a self-signed-cert in IIS; 2- Bind my site to https and choose the above self-signed-cert 3- Import the self-signed-cert at the IE8 - Internet Options - Content - Certificates - Personal. Then I use the https link to access my page, it is still prompts me to choose a certificate. But I cannot see my newly imported self-signed-cert. Why?

The problem is that many different issues result in a SocketException and I need to know what the cause was. There is no inner exception reported, so the only information I have to work with is the message: "A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond" This question has a general and specific part: is it acceptable to write conditional logic based upon the textual representation of an exception? Is there a way to avoid needing exception handling?   I have a VS2010 (RTM) solution which contains: WCF Service project Console WCF client project Class project for DataContracts and members Class project for some simple classes I successfully added a service reference in the console client project and ran the client. I then did a long dev cycle repeatedly modifying the service then updating console service reference. I then changed the namespace and assembly names for the projects as well as the .cs using references and app.config. I of course missed some things as it would not build so I eventually removed the project references and the service reference, cleaned and built successfully. I then attempted to add the service reference again, it discovered it but threw the “Object reference not set to an instance of an object” when OK'ing. Fix in answer below...

  I have COM DLL that compiled in x32(the server side). I registered it and tried to use the function CoGetClassObject with client that works in x32 for getting the IClassFactory. Hr = CoGetClassObject(CLSID_IOrbCom, CLSCTX_INPROC_SERVER, 0 , IDD_IClassFactory, (LPVOID*)&ClassFactory) the result with client x32 was fine and everything works well. But when I tried to use the CoGetClassObject in x64 client I received failed error "Class not registered". P.S. Restriction: - I can only compiled the COM server with x32. - My OS is XP 64bit.

  I have written a simple network program on java using sockets. Program has a client and a server. When user types a word on client side, server simply return this word to client. On server side I use Serversocket and bind it to port 4444. Why does not firewall block this connection on my server PC? I ask this question because earlier I wrote this program using corba technology, and firewall on my server PC was blocking the connection to this port; when I disabled the firewall the program worked fine.

  I have capped data which is essentially free between midnight and 5am. As a result, I would like to set Ubuntu to automatically download updates over that time. It seems that cron-apt is what I need, but the documentation and syntax is sketchy and unintuitive. Can anyone tell me how to use it to schedule downloads? It can install the updates at the same time as far as I'm concerned, but that's not such a big issue - I can run those at a later stage.

  A WCF service is based on NetTcpBinding. It may happen that the client silently vanishes, leaving the server thinking that it is still connected. I'm currently using a thread that pings all connected client to see if they are still alive, and removes disconnected clients. Is a ping thread the correct way to solve the issue, or is there a better, possibly event-based way? Do I have to surround every code that communicates with the client by try/catch and remove it from the list of connected clients additionally?

Is it OK to have multiple Main() methods in a single project? Will I be able to compile them to different .jar files? (In this case I need two different jars for the server) Is there a better way to setup the packages? And a totally unrelated question, with exceptions, is it better to handle them right then and there or throw them and let the main method catch them all (the program cannot recover if an error occurs)

  Is there a way for a WebSocket client to send additional information on the initial connection to the WebSocket server? I'm asking because I want the client to send the user ID (string) to the server immediately. I don't want the client to send the user ID in the onopen callback. Why? Because it's faster and simpler. If the WebSocket API won't let you do this, why not? If there's no good reason, how could I suggest they add this simple feature?

• Freeing a character pointer returns error

  I'm trying to free a character pointer after having used it but it returns a strange error. The error says: "_CrtDbgREport: String too long or IO Error" The debugger itself returns no errors while compiling. • Can Silverlight be linked with a C++ static library ?

  Hi, I'm currently doing research to start a new project. This project will be in 2 parts a light Client (probably console) and an heavy one using silverlight. The light client must be cross-platform. However, they will both use the same Core (by the way, the core will need to use the sockets). I'd like to use C++ to build the light client but given that the core is common to both applications, it would be much appreciated if it's could be the same code. So the question is quite simple : Can Silverlight be compilated with a C++ static library ? And if it's possible, what about cross-platform issues (with moonlight) ? If it's not possible. Which language can i use to work with silverlight while being cross-platform ? Because of performance, a compilated language will be better ! Thanks for your expertise :)

  The title pretty much summarizes the question. We have deployed an sFTP server that needs to be accessed from our client's MS Windows Pc's that reside within a restricted local area network. The only way they can get out for their Intranet is to use an HTTP proxy that requires NTLM authentication. From what I understand all open-source sFTP clients (FilleZilla,WinSCP,etc) do NOT support NTLM authentication (Because of legal issues). I know that there are workarounds to this (installing a local proxy at the machine that understands NTLM) but this would break all sorts of security policies of our client. So my question is : Does anyone know of any sFTP client that supports NTLM ?
