  • Are there other search options for heroku

    I am about to launch a beta site, and heroku looks like a great option. The only think that is getting me down is that the only search option is $20/mth for the Websolr add-on. I am sure that Websolr is great, but at this very early point in this project, I rather not light up that expense. Are there any free search options to couple with heroku's Blossom (free) plan. I feel like such a cheapskate!

    Hello, I have an ANTLR grammar that can parse and evaluate simple expressions like 1+2*4, etc. What I would like to do is to evaluate expressions like 2+$a-$b/4 where the $ variables are dynamic variables, that come from an external source and are continuously updated. Is there any design pattern on how to do this using ANTLR, best practices, etc? Shall I "substring" the $a with the updated value ($a - 4.34) A nicer way to do this? Thx

Do you guys think a warning or perhaps even an assertion failure should be produced if delete is used to free memory obtained using malloc()??     I have an NSTextField that I would like to enable "as-you-type" spell checking. When I load my application I can do this from the Menu Bar Edit Spelling and Grammar Check Spelling While Typing. I would like this option to be enabled by default. Within IB I can enable this for a NSTextView but I would like to use NSTextField for this part of the UI. Thank you.

The reason for integrating this filter comes from Spring security FAQs: I'm using Tomcat (or some other servlet container) and have enabled HTTPS for my login page, switching back to HTTP afterwards. It doesn't work - I just end up back at the login page after authenticating. This happens because sessions created under HTTPS, for which the session cookie is marked as “secure”, cannot subsequently be used under HTTP. The browser will not send the cookie back to the server and any session state will be lost (including the security context information). Starting a session in HTTP first should work as the session cookie won't be marked as secure.

    Recently I have read a lot about different NoSQL databases and how they are being effectively deployed by some major websites out there. I'm starting a project in which I think the schema-free nature of a database such as MongoDB would be tremendously useful. Everything I have read though seems to indicate that the main advantage of a NoSQL database is scalability. Is choosing a NoSQL database for the schema-free design just as legitimate a design decision as that of scalability?

  • NetworkOnMainThreadException while using AsyncTask

    Im making an app that uses the internet to retrive information. I get an NetworkOnMainThreadException as i tried to run it on 3.0 and above and have therefore tried to set it up using AsyncTask, but it still gives the exception and i don't know what is wrong. Oddly enough i read on this thread Android NetworkOnMainThreadException inside of AsyncTask that if you just removes the android:targetSdkVersion="10" statement from the manifest file it will be able to run. This works but i don't find it as the right solution to solve the problem this way. So if anyone can tell me what im doing wrong with the AsyncTask i will really appriciate it. Also if there is anybody that knows why removing the statement in the manifest makes it work, im really interested in that also.     I'm trying to use reserved words in my grammar: reserved = { 'if' : 'IF', 'then' : 'THEN', 'else' : 'ELSE', 'while' : 'WHILE', } tokens = [ 'DEPT_CODE', 'COURSE_NUMBER', 'OR_CONJ', 'ID', ] + list(reserved.values()) t_DEPT_CODE = r'[A-Z]{2,}' t_COURSE_NUMBER = r'[0-9]{4}' t_OR_CONJ = r'or' t_ignore = ' \t' def t_ID(t): r'[a-zA-Z_][a-zA-Z_0-9]*' if t.value in reserved.values(): t.type = reserved[t.value] return t return None However, the t_ID rule somehow swallows up DEPT_CODE and OR_CONJ. How can I get around this? I'd like those two to take higher precedence than the reserved words.
