  I need a recovery software that has the features of reclaime file recovery. Those are, to be able to read image files, to keep folder structure, to be as efficient but to be free. I can't afford reclaime and all free software that i know out there either support folder structure but cannot read an image of the array created or the opposite. Can somebody suggest some software? PS: I used reclaime to create an image of my RAID0 broken array and with reclaime file recovery i can see all my files intact but i cannot recover without purchase.

  Chrome: Bookmark Sentry, a free Chrome extension, takes the hard work out of checking your bookmark file for bad links and duplicates. Install it, forget about it, and get scheduled reports on the state of your bookmarks file. It’s that simple. Once you install the extension, open the options to toggle some basic settings to your liking (like the frequency of the scan, how long you want it to wait for a response, and whether you want it to look for bad links and/or duplicates). Once it finishes scanning you’ll get a report indicating the status of the links (why they are marked as missing or duped) and the ability to selectively or mass delete them. The only caveat we’d share is that it will tell you links behind any sort of security are unavailable. If you bookmark pages that you use for work, behind your corporate firewall for example, if the scanner runs when you’re not authenticated then it won’t be able to reach them.   Edwin Biemond is an active member of the ACE community, having worked with Oracle's development tooling and database technologies since 1997. Since then, Edwin has become an expert in many of Oracle's middleware technologies as well, including WebLogic and SOA. In fact, Edwin has become so prolfic that he was named the Java Developer of the Year in 2009. Edwin hails from the Netherlands, where he is an architect at the company Amis, and is also a co-author of the OSB Development Cookbook. He's a proven expert in ADF, JSF, messaging (Edifact / ebXML), Enterprise Service Bus, web services and tuning of application servers and databases. • Suitable SDK to develop quick game?

  I'm currently undertaking a personal project at home that I need to turn around inside the next few months (which working full time and still learning programming makes it a tad difficult). I'm looking for suggestions on SDK's or tools (preferably free or that come with games, similar to steam tools) that I can use to develop a "game". I'm OK with coding but have no 3D development skills at all. I've very little experience with mod tools or SDK's at all but I'm hoping someone can point me in the direction of one that does the following: A decent library of prefab 3D models to build scenes. Ability to add scripting to the scene I've used Unity before and would prefer to continue to do so however I really have the worst 3D skills imaginable and can't waste time learning them. I'd be looking for pre-fab items that are both industrial and possibly more lush environments (trees etc). If it makes any difference (due to licencing and what-not) I WILL NOT be selling this game or marketing it in any way and I am a University Student if any places do educations licences. Another alternative would be to source free 3d models elsewhere but again while I'm still learning I have no idea where to look if someone could point me in the right direction I'll do the rest of the digging. • Why does 12.04 upgrade abort with out of space error when I have lots of it?

  When upgrading Ubuntu from 11.10 to 12.04 I discovered an unexpected problem. The upgrade was stopped because there wasn't enough free space for the installation. I managed to free some space and do the upgrade but now a prompt appears after logging in saying I'm out of space. This prompt asks me if I want to examine the problem. The "Disk Usage Analyser" is opened. In the top it says: Total filesystem capacity: 47.0 GB (used: 13.5 GB available: 33.4 GB) Folder -- Usage -- Size / -- 100% -- 12.5 GB usr -- 44.8 % -- 5.6 GB home -- 30.3 % -- 3.8 GB lib -- 13.0 % -- 1.6 GB var -- 9.1 % -- 1.1 GB boot 2.5 % 309.5 GB and a lot of small contributors like: etc, opt, sbin, bin etc. I do not really understand this problem since the analyser in the top says that I have 33.4 GB left in this file system. • Windows Shares / NTFS permissions on folder redirection in Active Directory

  A client has folder redirection in AD setup on each user's Home Folder set to the Z:\ drive as \server\share\username. A Group Policy redirects the user's Documents to the user's Home Folder with the option 'Grant the user to exclusive rights to Documents' selected. The share on the server has permissions for the relevant user security group with 'Full Control', but each user's folder only have NTFS permissions only for 'CREATOR OWNER' and 'Domain Admins'. Why can the different users access other user's folders? I thought the most restrictive permissions applied effectively between the share and the NTFS permissions. Also, this setup has been like this for years, and this client recently updated all client computers to Windows 7. What is the best way to setup this redirection now? I assume only in Group Policy, also Basic Redirection - to create a folder for each user under the root path?

• Problems to connect Java visualVM to a EC2-instance

  I'm trying to profile a AWS EC2 instance via visualVM. The instance is in a securitygroup which allows all connections and i'm runing jstatd with a grant codebase "file:${java.home}/../lib/tools.jar" { permission java.security.AllPermission; }; policy on it. When i try to connect from my local machine with visulVM nothing happens. When i use jps i get the following response $ jps -l -m -v rmi://ec2-xxx-xxx-xxx-xxx.compute-1.amazonaws.com Error communicating with remote host: Connection refused to host: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx; nested exception is: java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out But i can ssh into the instance and use jps locally. Has anyone a pointer in which direction i can debug further?

  Often times, not-IT people has to deal with massive text data, clean it, filter it, modify it. Often times normal office tools like Excel lack the tools to make complex search and replace operations on text. Could this people benefit from regexps ? Can regexp be taught to them ? Are regular expressions the exclusive domain of programmers and unix/linux technicians ? Can they be learned by non-IT people, given regexps are not a programming language? Is this a valid or achievable goal to make some users regexp-literate through appopriate training ? Have you have any experiences on this issue? and if so, have it been successful ?

• My HP-Vista based laptop has become very slow recently

  My HP laptop which has Vista Home premium. When I try to start Firefox, internet explorer, it becomes very slow. No other app. When i checked the Performance in Task Manager. It shows the Physical memory , Free as 0 bytes, almost always. This has been recently. Earlier it didn't used to be zero. Laptop has 2GB of RAM. I have nothing running in my tray except - Sound control, Laptop power plan indicator,Network status indicator. There are no other processes whose memory usage adds up to so high to make Free memory as 0. Then what could be hogging the memory and make the laptop very slow. Any pointers would help as it is crawling at the moment.

• Video monetising and simple shop, platform?

  I have this client that wants a single-product website. The product is a training-video that they want to deliver virtually and optionally physically. I usually do all the front-end design and back-end development but the budget is close to $0 to start with. So I'm looking for a platform like shopify or something where a shop/cart can be set up quickly and simply with minimal up-front cost - but which can accomodate some kind of paywall (DRM too?) for the online video with an option to purchase for an aditional cost the physical DVD. Am I approaching the wrong way all together? Or do you know of any platform that will accomodate the specs?

• Partition table correpted in windows 7 machine as simple dynamic partition

  I have Windows 7 installed in my system. When I originally partitioned it I made 3 partitions and 16 gb space as unallocated. Later I tried to create a partition using this free space using diskmanagement tool. It shows free space as unusabe space and the only one option available is to make it as a simple partition. Unfortunately I made it as simple partition and all my partitions converted to simple dynamic partition. Now after reboot the OS is not loading. I tried to reinstall the OS by formatting the C drive, but it doesn't work. Now I can't load the OS properly. How can I install Windows 7 on my system without losing my data on the other two drives?
